"We spent 1 night at Coille Darach on our road trip through Scotland and received a very warm welcome. We very much appreciated the comfortable bed, quality bedding and towels and enjoyed one of the best breakfasts on our whole trip. There was a separate seating area/ balcony which we were also able to use. We should have booked dinner at a local restaurant in advance, but were fortunate to be fitted in to the Strontian hotel restaurant and enjoyed a delicious evening meal with views over the water."

"Stayed here for a night while working away. Beautiful location. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but the food smelt delicious. Great atmosphere with guests and locals in the bar. The staff where very friendly and accommodating."

Kilchoan Hotel

"Small hotel in Kilchoan on Ardnamurchan peninsula. Excellent cooked breakfast to order if you want it. Very friendly obliging staff. Small evening menu - the best fish and chips I’ve had in years and a decent NZ Sauvignon. Very clean and dogs are accepted. Ferry to Tobermory on Mull close by and a short drive from Sanna Bay with spectacular scenery all around. "

"WOW! WOW! WOW! Mingary Castle is outstanding, utterly beautiful sat perched on the cliff, and oozes charm & character. Staff are welcoming, friendly, very proud & passionate, & happily explained the history of Mingary castle. Service is very attentive & each course is described in detail with pride. The food is sublime! Each dish has exacting detail you would expect from this level of professional cookery, the Chef uses many seasonal & locally sourced ingredients, & all dishes are intriguing, well balanced & unctuous. Each dish was bursting with flavour, & considered, worthy of any Michelin star! The menu was very well priced, and I would love to visit again, I only wish I lived nearer! Excellent quality, excellent food, well designed menu & such a talented team & Chef!"
