"The stay was pleasant. But the selection of food was extremely poor. The room is a bit small for a couple"
Grecotel Villa Oliva ★★★
"We have spent a week here and really enjoyed it! The staff was always smiling, helpful and friendly! They greeted us warmly and immediately remembered our room number and eating preferences. That made us feel really welcomed. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious. The hotel has a pool located in beautiful garden. The pool and its area were clean, neat and comfortable to use. The room was quiet (we had the one facing the garden), nice and clean. We had a rented car throughout most of our stay but there are bus stops close to the hotel. The whole stay was super relaxing!"

Eleven Boutique Suites
"+ cozy building, nice and quite functional seaview room, good mosquito nets, comfy bed, deep enough pool good for swimming, exellent breakfast by the sea, convenient parking on site. - tiny beach is rocky not good for swimming, few mosquitos managed sneaking in, no towel drying rack on the balcony"
Creta Star Hotel - Adults Only
"A perfect hotel for couples! The food is delicious, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you're looking for parties, this might not be the place for you – it's all about peace and relaxation here. The hotel is adults-only, which makes it ideal for a quiet and restful stay. Guests come here to unwind, not to party. As a standard courtesy information—there’s a €10 per night tourist tax per room, which is common throughout Crete and must be paid on arrival."
Aegean View Hotel - Rethymno
"A small jewelry. The staff is very welcome. Easy and simple food. Great comfortable room. Hotel is quiet near the beach and far from the agitation of the centre of Rethymno."
Amira Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
Carme Villas
"Our stay was great! The house is simple but beautiful with a lovely pool and amazing view. We were here with our 2 year old and she had a blast in the playing ground, she absolutely loved it and this meant some quiet time for us as well. It is close to Rethymno, location wise this was great. Our hostess was great and helped us out where need be. She treated our daughter with chocolates and made the best dinner. The breakfast is super as well, elaborate and yummy,"
Rethymno Mare & Water Park
"The kindness and professionalism of the staff made a strong impression. The room was well maintained, the pool area was lovely, and the breakfast offered plenty of options. Everything contributed to a very enjoyable experience."
White Olive Elite Rethymno
Zeus Hotels Ydoria Resort
"We flew home from this hotel just last night, after spending 10 nights here for 6.5K. 2 adults and 4 children we had no choice but to book 2 rooms, luckily we managed to book 1 room with a private pool & the other without. 1 adult with 2 children in both rooms. We arrived at the hotel around 12am ish. The hotel had left leftover food from dinner for us to eat, we where extremely grateful as we was very hungry and unaware of food times for surrounding restaurants and the last thing we wanted to do was leave the hotel after traveling with 4 children aged 7-15. We had booked superior rooms, 1 with a private pool. There was nothing superior about the room if I'm honest. They where both extremely small, the room with the pool was smaller, the shower door was right next to the hotel door, and it opened outwards, tiny bathroom that remained soaked if someone had a shower. There was only the bathroom mirror in the room without the pool, no where to hang towels to dry (both rooms on ground floor). Every single morning we where waken with the cleaners walking and shouting up and down the hallways, using their cleaning trolleys so if your looking forward to a lay in, ground floor isn't a great place to be! The food was ok, breakfast consisted of multiple choices of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, pastry's and some cooked food. We found the Lunch options and dinner options very repetitive, so much so we were sick of eating chips and pizza. We had to eat out a few times to try and look forward to some food. Poolside food was chips (yummy ones) pizza, hotdogs, burgers, gyros, chicken nuggets and fish fingers. your typical all inclusive poolside snacks and it done the job! Hot food was kept warm and cold food was kept cold, all kept fresh away from flys and bugs ect. The cocktails and mocktails were really good, and was always served with a smile from the lovely staff. Soft drinks on tap (Pepsi, 7up, lemon, orange and water ect). (Strawberry coconut cocktail was my personal favourite). I simply can not write this review without mentioning Rico the entertainer, he is genuinely a pure happy soul. Having had conversations with him about his life and watching him bring everyone together for games during the day and entertainment in the evening, he really did make the day/evenings so enjoyable!! My children will certainly miss him and aqua gym!! I must mention fiyena (I hope I have spelt that correct) the lifeguard. She is outstanding, she is firm but very fair. She will ensure every child is safe but she will also make sure every single person around the pool is having fun and enjoying themselves, she really is a star who pitches in with cleaning plates and rubbish as well as helping children with their goggles and inflateables. What I will say is the first day we got there the floor was so slippy it had adults and children falling over, a major accident waiting to happen. I believe she made the hotel provide some safety mats to help, especially down slippe"
Harmony Rethymno Beach Hotel
"Spent a relaxing week, at this smaller hotel. This created a very peaceful atmosphere. Every where was so clean and tidy. Food was delicious and plentiful. Rooms were spacious, the sea view and sunsets were so beautiful. All the staff go above and beyond to help make your stay a very happy memory. My only criticism, is no hand sanitizer around or in the restaurant. I witnessed several people coming out the WC without washing hands."
Hotel Scaleta Beach
"Three days into a seven-night stay and we’re already wishing we’d booked somewhere else. The food has been, without question, the biggest disappointment. Calling it “varied” would be generous. At most meals there are around three main dishes to choose from, and somehow none of them manage to look particularly appealing. By day three, we’ve already seen the same uninspiring options making repeat appearances. More often than not, we’ve ended up eating chips or plain pasta because they were the most appealing bet. When your holiday meals become an exercise in damage limitation, something has gone badly wrong. For an all-inclusive hotel, the drinks selection is equally poor. If you’re not a fan of ouzo, raki, beer, or wine, you’re pretty much out of luck. Even then, drinks are only available between 11am and 10pm. We’ve stayed in budget hotels with a better selection and more generous service. What’s most frustrating is that the hotel itself has potential. The pool is lovely, the views are stunning, and the sunsets are genuinely breathtaking. Unfortunately, a beautiful backdrop can only carry a holiday so far. You can’t eat the scenery, and after several days of forcing down mediocre meals and making do with an extremely limited drinks offering, the views have started to feel like a distraction from the hotel’s shortcomings rather than a redeeming feature. We booked this holiday expecting a relaxing all-inclusive experience. Instead, we’ve spent the first half of the trip discussing where else we’d rather be eating. If food and drink are important parts of your holiday, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. A hotel can get away with dated rooms. It can get away with minor issues. What it can’t get away with is making guests dread mealtimes. Sadly, that’s exactly where we are."
Maravel Star Art Hotel
"Great experience with Irene. Good advise on different types of services. Clean place. Recommend the 'Secrets of Knossos' massage. So nice, I took it twice."
Hotel Kathrin Beach
"Amazing hotel with fabulous staff. Couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend Perfect location right on the beach and not far into rethymnon itself. Your room is cleaned DAILY. Spotless always. Food plenty to choose from. One stay is never enough you'll want to return every year."
Adele Beach Hotel
"The hotel complex of houses is very cozy, quieter, beautiful garden, clean spacious room, excellent food, very helpful staff and receptionists. Special thanks to the staff in the restaurant, Daniele, and the young man - a waiter originally from Prague (I don't know his name), Maria in the pool bar, and especially Irina for the great service and always in a good mood. I do not recommend going there with small children, because the pool is only deep, but with warm water, illuminated at night. The only complaint - access to the sea. Although the beach is sandy, the entrance to the sea is first gravel and then slippery smooth and then pointed stones. Very dangerous without shoes, several had broken knees. For adults, an ideal holiday in peace, promenade with merchants 50 m, bus stop to Rethymno 100 m. Buy a 2 euro bus ticket in advance at the "supermarket", because the driver kicked us out of the bus and refused to sell us tickets, although another driver had no problem with that. Overall, extremely satisfied except for entering the sea. And for 2 days there was a red flag, you couldn't go swimming because of big waves, that's not the hotel's fault. Overall, the hotel, staff and food were excellent, we will definitely come back next year."
Sunrise Apartments
"We stayed in Sunrise apartments in the beginning of June. First of all I'd like to say a huge thank you to Nicko and Tonya, the hotel manager and his wife. They are amazing people, very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They made us feel at home during our stay. The hotel itself is located on a hill, but that's what gives you the best view of sunset and sunrise. They have a beautiful rooftop terrace with sunbeds, umbrellas, tables and chairs. It's a Beautiful spot with sea and mountain views to watch the sunset and have dinner in a relaxing atmosphere. The room was very clean and spacious with everything you needed and it was cleaned 4 times during our stay(10 days). All bedding and towels changed every time they cleaned the room. The cleaner was amazing too. She did such a great job. The pool was very clean and very pleasant, the water check was done by Nicko daily. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. The hotel was approximately a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minutes walk to the supermarket, which was quite good and had everything we needed. Restaurants and taverns are all located within walking distance, but if you want to rent a car or scooter, Nicko will help you with that too. He is very approachable and helpful. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation and highly recommend Sunrise apartments to other guests. Thank you Nicko for everything you have done for us and put up with us all 10 days and made our Crete experience unforgettable."
