Hakone Gora Byakudan
"Facilities: Excellent Cleanliness: Good Ambiance: Comfortable Service: Good Located on Gora mountain, there isn't much to explore nearby, but you can take a pleasant walk along the road with fresh air. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the half-board (two meals and one stay) is fantastic; both breakfast and dinner were delicious! After a satisfying meal, we enjoyed a very relaxing dip in the hot springs. The lobby offers tea and coffee, and in the evening, there are various snacks, alcoholic drinks, and other beverages available. The staff are very friendly. Overall, we are extremely satisfied."
Hakone Yumoto Onsen Hakoneji Kaiun
"The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, pretty much what you'd expect from an onsen village: there's a very picturesque river nearby, a small waterfall not too far away, and plenty of places to stroll around. They even have spots with fireflies nearby. The hotel itself is nicely decorated, and the rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable. The mountain view from the window is stunning. The onsen itself is quite basic. There are two open-air baths on the veranda. It was a unique experience for me to lie in such a huge tub! The onsen water wasn't particularly impressive, though. Another nice touch is that you can choose your yukata by color. The last photo shows the shelves where they're kept."
Tenseien
"Perfect . Big room cheap price compared to staying in Tokyo . Big bath tub . Shuttle bus to/from airport . There is also shuttle bus can send you to Aeon . Convinent store in the hotel lobby ."
Fufu Hakone
"Love the vibe of the hote"
Setsugetsuka
"The location is great but service a bit normal. Food is ok but not fantastic, good to try"
Hakone Yutowa
"A very comfortable hotel to stay. Just bear in mind, check out time in 10am."
Yoshiike Ryokan
"Absolutely amazing! The huge courtyard is stunning, the room is comfortable, and the service is attentive. There weren't many people, so I practically had the public hot spring all to myself. Oh, if only I could stay here for half a year or a year!"
Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu
"Food for dinner and breakfast quit the same if you choose buffet for dinner, private onsen baht is not approproate use"
Hotel Indigo HAKONE GORA by IHG
"The Hakone Indigo experience was superb! Our room had a balcony with a private hot spring, so we could soak and enjoy the scenery without even leaving. It was incredibly relaxing. The hotel's viewing areas are cleverly designed, with foot baths next to the scenic spots. Sipping coffee with a breeze and soaking your feet while enjoying the view – absolutely brilliant! The overall environment is comfortable and cozy, making for an amazing experience. Once you're here, all you want to do is relax at the hotel. Highly recommended!"

Gora Hanaougi
"The worst hot spring hotel I've ever stayed in Japan!!! And it's the most expensive. It should be the worst hotel recommended by Tirp. What kind of collusion is there? The equipment and facilities are old and aging, the room is filled with a strong pungent musty smell, which makes people cough violently and difficult to fall asleep. No one answered the hotel contact number marked on Tirp! It is also very inconvenient to get to the hotel. There is no courtesy at all when picking up and dropping off guests, and the attitude is completely indifferent. It is a world of difference from the hotel I stayed in the day before. Except for the food that is still online, I will give this hotel the title of the worst. In short, the hotel that Tirp strongly recommends on the App is extremely unfriendly and bad behavior."
COCO VILLA Okuyugawara — Private villa by mountain stream with sauna, surrounded by nature
"Tucked into the foothills of Hakone, in a quiet village along Yugawara Parkway, we found this small villa surrounded by greenery and the sound of a nearby stream. But what stayed with me wasn’t the villa—it was us. The kids ran straight to the deck, reaching out to catch the falling cherry blossom petals as they drifted onto the water, arguing over who caught the most before they slipped through their fingers. Someone left the door open, letting the cool air drift in. By evening, we were all gathered upstairs, half-talking, half-listening to the steady rhythm of the stream below. No one reached for their phones. Later that night, we slept with the windows open. You could hear the water, constant and calming, like it had always been there. It’s strange—places fade, but moments like this don’t. The quiet, the laughter, the feeling of having nowhere else to be. That’s what I’ll remember. "
Oku Yugawara Tsubaki
"This was the most comfortable two-day stay we’ve had in Japan. Our room was spacious and relaxing, and having a private hot spring right in the garden made the experience truly special. The meals were exceptional — delicious, beautifully prepared, and generously served. We’re especially grateful to the okami who took care of us. Even though we don’t speak Japanese, she communicated with patience and kindness throughout our stay. It was an unforgettable way to celebrate our anniversary, and we would love to return."
Hakone Suishoen
"Haha a very pleasant stay here. Staff had extremely good service, private hot tub was why we chose this hotel. Food served was delicious too. The room is pricey but also comes with a few free gifts & some free drinks and snacks."
The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko
"Hotel is old classic. I believe it was a very grand hotel back in the days. Very kid friendly with aquarium and animal petting farm within walking distance. Beautiful lake. Room feels warm as aircon can’t be controlled and have to open the windows. There’s a table tennis room and onsen."
Musashino Bekkan Hakone
"Booked half board 3d2n stay, best service and best meal we ever had out of so many Japan trip we travelled. Will definitely come back again ;)"
Hakone Forest of Verde
"This was by far the best and most comfortable hotel of my entire trip, highly recommended! The room was incredibly spacious with a small balcony offering distant views. The front desk staff were exceptionally responsible and patient; they used a translator to explain things to me sentence by sentence when I didn't understand. Absolutely top-notch service! If I ever get the chance to visit again, I'll definitely stay here. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from Gora Station, but you need to pay attention to the schedule. If you follow navigation and take the 'H' bus to Kowakien, you'll face a very tiring uphill walk, even though it looks like a short distance on the map! If you can manage the bus schedule, it's best to go one stop further to Tenyu Station. The hotel boasts a rich variety of facilities including hot springs, a sauna, a swimming pool, a gym, and a ping-pong room. The lobby also has plenty of tourist brochures, some of which include discount coupons – definitely worth exploring!"
Hakone Retreat Före
"The hotel's condition doesn’t match the photos you can find online. It is not well maintained, the garden and trees are not taken care of, and the facility is getting old with molds and paint peeling in the rooms. Extremely cheap room speakers, no television, cheap hairdryer, cheap amenities. Not what we are expecting for such a price. I paid 95,000¥ for one night without dinner included. Overpriced."
Hakonenomori Okada
"Great stay and an excellent onsen experience. Look into transportation around Hakone before booking, but there are busses that run during the day."
Guesthouse Fukuura
"This is a wonderful place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. It's very clean and cozy, just like home. All the photos are accurate."
Tsuruyoshikawa Onsen Hotel
"I stayed one night with breakfast included. The staff were extremely attentive and I had a very pleasant time. Every response was polite and made me feel at ease. The food and location were both excellent. It was a hotel I would definitely like to stay at again."
Gran Terrace le Lien Hakone
"Excellent location, and the room was well-equipped."
Hakone Kowakien Miyama-furin
"Best place to stay if you want to go to Hakone loop. It is only 4 mins walk to Yunnesun."
Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori
"The hotel is new and well operated. We have booked with breakfast and dinner buffet. There are various kinds of drinks provided, including whisky, wine, beer, soft drinks and fruit juice, worth for trying, but there are limited choices of food. The view of the room is perfect as you can see the lake and the cable car station without any obstruction from your balcony. The hot spring spa at the hotel is wonderful, with indoor and outdoor portion and outside the hot spring, there are kimono that you could choose to dress during your stay. There is a private spa room but it’s full during my stay so we could not try it."
Hotel Marroad Hakone
"Hotel room was spacious. Compound was a bit old but overall clean. Onsen was small but still nice to use, with a sauna. Location was okay as long as there is transport, having the shuttle is a nice touch."
