Hotels in Tian'Anmen Square and Wangfujing Area, Beijing

Apart from the renovation which we were told beforehand, the room we had was dark (probably because it was a windowless room), humid, aircon wasn’t strong but they provided a fan. Could smell urine even with the toilet seat covered, toilet door was closed, to a point that i was awaken by the foul smell. Had to spray perfume to have it barely covered. Ventilation was super bad. Cons aside, service was good, fridge in room had free drinks. Would recommend to book a window room if you had to even though friend that stayed in the window room said it was bad too. There’s a mall few minutes walk away which was a plus. Good view on the reception floor too.

We stayed at this hotel as a group and had a great experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would happily recommend this hotel to other group travelers.

The front desk staff were very warm and helpful, and housekeeping was attentive. The room had all the amenities you could need, the bathroom was quite spacious with a great shower, and there was even a projector on the wall for watching movies at night. Overall, it was a very cozy and welcoming experience.

My recent solo trip to Beijing included a stay at this hotel, and overall, my experience was excellent. The value for money was definitely there, and while there were a few minor details that could be improved, it's highly recommended. The hotel's biggest advantage is its location – it's absolutely unbeatable. Right next to a subway entrance and within walking distance to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, it offers incredibly convenient access to major attractions like the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. This significantly cuts down on travel time for sightseeing, making it particularly friendly for out-of-town visitors. What surprised me most was how peaceful the hotel was, despite being in the bustling city center. The courtyard is clean, elegant, and full of atmosphere, and the friendly resident cats are a joy. A stroll through the courtyard during downtime is incredibly therapeutic and a great way to unwind after a day of exploring. The service was a huge plus. The staff were gentle and genuine, without any stiff, overly commercial feel. Check-in and check-out were efficient. If you're unsure about local attractions or authentic dining spots, the front desk staff are patient, helpful, and offer thoughtful advice to avoid tourist traps. Their service truly comes from the heart. Overall, for a location in the heart of Wangfujing, to find such an environment, cleanliness, and service at this price point is truly exceptional. While there were a few minor imperfections, they didn't detract from the overall stay at all.

It was a rainy morning when my son and I arrived in Beijing by train. Dressed in light summer clothes from the south and with damp shoes, we headed straight to the hotel. Our excitement for Beijing's famous sights temporarily faded, replaced by a strong desire to just get into a warm, comfortable room. Unfortunately, we were out of luck; the hotel was fully booked the night before, and we were told it was too early for check-in and there were no rooms available. It was cold and wet outside, and with nowhere to go, we were stuck on the hotel lobby sofa, feeling miserable and frustrated as we waited for the afternoon check-in time. That's when Ms. Bai Yunli from the front desk appeared, saving what started as a disastrous trip. Around 10 AM, when I went to get thicker clothes from my luggage, she proactively checked and upgraded our room, allowing us to check in immediately! 😄 At that moment, she felt like an angel radiating light, hahahaha! 😄 We stayed for several days, and while the hotel might be a bit older with a more traditional decor and facilities, the location is absolutely fantastic. It's walking distance from the Forbidden City's back gate, and you can easily explore Beijing's hutongs on a shared bike. The service at the hotel is truly excellent; everyone we encountered was very professional and polite. The doormen always helped open doors and carry luggage. A cleaning lady even noticed me drying clothes in the bathroom and immediately brought us a floor-standing drying rack. This stay left us with wonderful memories, and we'll definitely be back next time!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Check in and out we’re super fast and staff spoke English. We had executive room which included access to the lounge twice a day with snacks and drinks. We only used it twice but it was helpful. The location of the hotel is right near the walking street. The room was spacious and the bathroom was traditional room with sink, bath and shower with the sliding door which was nice change from other types of bathrooms we experienced in China. There were some toiletries provided. The breakfast room is massive and stunning and the breakfast had large variety. There were stations for pancakes and waffles, omelettes and eggs, as well as noodle soups, middle eastern and Korean food. The coffee machines produced relatively good coffee. The concierge was helpful. Strange things were unplugging our phone chargers every time the room service was done and not cleaning the cups and leaving them with tea from last night. The sink was not draining well. All else was great.

Facilities: The hotel is like a large courtyard, with rooms distributed along various corridors. The soundproofing isn't great, as there's only a window separating the room from the corridor. Privacy is fine once you close the curtains; otherwise, people in the corridor can see into the room. The smart home system throughout is quite good. There are rocking chairs and pavilions in the courtyard. Cleanliness: Very good, didn't find any dirty spots. Environment: There's a cat at the front desk you can play with. Otherwise, you can only wander around the courtyard. Service: Very good. The front desk staff and even a security guard uncle inside were all very nice.

This was the cleanest hotel I have ever been to. The room is very small, but there is a big and comfortable bed with 2 big pillows and a soft blanket. For 1 person this is perfect. The bathroom is also small, but it has everything you need. The cleaning lady comes everyday, and brings toilet paper and water, changes the towels. If you need anything, just ask. They are very helpful. The night receptionist was also so nice. I arrived so late, and left so early, but she helped me with my big and heavy luggage (there is no elevator, so her help meant a lot). She was very friendly, we talked more times, she was very patient with me and my poor Chinese, so I could practice speaking in Chinese. Very cheap and very good! I highly recommend it!!

Absolutely stunning hotel The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and the decor was absolutely stunning. It really does look just like the photos. Its also easy walking distance to Wangfujing shopping street, to multiple subway lines, and to the Forbidden City. Dozens of food options right across the street too, but also several in-house restaurants and room service. Our room was spotlessly clean, the air was fresh and clean, and the housekeeping cleaned up and replaced our towels and amenities daily. The gym was very well equipped with commercial gym standard equipment - it doesnt open til 7am though. The swimming pool area was also lovely though we were too busy exploring Beijing and never got a chance to swim in it! We would both, most definitely, stay with Legendale again and would thoroughly recommend to others, too. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there. We only wish we had stayed for a bit longer.

The hotel staff are extremely friendly. They took good care of us and we felt completely at ease. Thanks to them, we had an excellent stay. That said, the hotel is in need of renovation. For example, the shower head is very old and only sprays down onto your head, which makes it hard to wash properly. The air conditioning needs updating, and the balcony and fire escape stairs need to be renovated for safety reasons.
