"Fantastic hotel! Location right by the ocean, free shuttle bus to the center of Funchal, ala carte themed restaurant, delicious food - varied and a lot of seafood, all inclusive works flawlessly - I don't know which sangria is better red or white. Rooms spotlessly clean functional large bathroom. In the evening, animations including Portuguese folklore - I greet Filip from the reception who stole the show :) Service at the highest level - If Madeira is for sure RIU. The view from the restaurant from the terrace is great. Not far from the hotel at the end of the boardwalk, you can go up the cliff off the trail."

Inserted in a beautiful rural area, in direct contact with nature, is our Casa De Campo. Surrounded by fruit trees, flowers and with a unique landscape, this house can accommodate up to a maximum of 4 people.The house has 1 bedroom with double bed, 1 bathroom, living room with a fully equipped kitchenette, in a single area where there is also a sofa bed. The balcony allows a superb view of the sea and the green surroundings, and is conducive to having a meal outdoors. It is a calm and peaceful place conducive to rest.The house is an annex to the mother house, with large cultivated gardens, where you can harvest aromatic herbs for your meals or even try exotic fruits from the island.It does not have direct access by car, as there is a typical footpath to reach the house. "Hotel Review – Royal Orchid
We had a lovely stay at the Royal Orchid. The hotel is beautiful, and our room offered a wonderful partial sea view with palm trees and the ocean in sight — truly relaxing.
However, there is room for improvement, especially regarding breakfast. Many items were processed, such as canned pineapple and artificial juices, which did not meet our expectations for freshness and quality.
The cleaningservice was was great, the overal service from receptuon was disappointing. The hotel enforces very strict rules, and the staff applies them even more rigidly. At times, it felt more like being in a school than on vacation. We would have appreciated a more customer-oriented and flexible approach, especially in a leisure setting.
However we enjoyed our stay, the room and the spa."

"This hotel is one of the three hotels. The reception is located at Hotel Rocamar, which is quite far. The room is spacious with a kitchenette, but the decor is a little simple and old-fashioned . The balcony is huge with a sea view. There is a hotel private parking area that costs 7.50 euros per night. Otherwise there are free parking on the street which is hard to find and paid parking which is free at night. The gym, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room are free of charge m, but they close at 6 pm, which is quite inconvenient. There are also many restaurants inside, which you choose to include with the room. I overheard that they did program for Christmas and New Year. It is perfect for those who just want to stay in the resort and not to go around the island."

GGuest UserI stayed here in 2017 and it was fabulous. I booked again for May this year but British Airways cancelled my flight. Fortunately the good people at trip.com were able to change my booking to 30 September at no additional cost. Unfortunately, British Airways have let me down again and cancelled this second flight. The restrictions around COVID wil make it impossible for me to go to Madeira this year, even if BA were flying there, which I think they are not. I have no option but to ask for a full refund of the hotel fee, but reading the reviews of trip.com I see some really good ones and some really bad ones. Let's hope I get lucky. Next year I certainly wish to return to this great hotel, when things have returned to normal. Here's hoping trip.com can help.

张张Although the environment is good, the facilities are outdated and there is no air conditioning. The house is cool outside and the house is stuffy and hot. What's more terrifying is that there are mosquitoes. It broke my perception that there are no mosquitoes in Europe.

TTinoyGood overall. There is an outdoor and indoor pool, a ping pong table, deck chairs...it reminds you of a summer camp. You have to go out and walk about 5 to 10 minutes to get to the restaurant and pool if you have rooms starting at 6xxx.
