Never at Home Kloof Street is an absolute gem for backpackers seeking relaxation, comfort, and amazing service in the heart of Cape Town. From the moment you step through the doors, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a truly memorable stay.

I was shocked to find that the laundry I had ordered hadn't been picked up overnight.

The location is excellent in Cape. It is close to the long street and large supermarkets, so you don't have to walk. There is a bar downstairs. Although it is noisy, it is very safe. The service is very enthusiastic. Everyone is very enthusiastic. It is a good choice for me who is not very good at English. It is also very clean. The girl at the front desk enthusiastically guided me how to play in Zhoushan and Mong Kok. She was not tired of it. I stayed in this hotel for six nights and felt very happy and made a lot of friends. 🥳

Absolutely love the place. Exceeded expectations on location, security, and space. It’s peaceful, staff are friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Overall, clean environment apart from the shower drainage while showering. And non-smoking areas is an added bonus.

I’ve stayed here several times for work trips, and it’s always exactly what I need. The private rooms are spacious and comfortable - perfect for relaxing after a busy day. I love having a big TV with Netflix, which makes it easy to unwind. The staff are incredibly friendly and always available to help, making me feel like part of a welcoming community. The location is fantastic, with plenty going on nearby. Evenings are lively and fun in the common areas, but once I’m in my room, it’s quiet and feels like a boutique hotel. I’d never stayed in a hostel as an "adult" before, but this place completely changed my perspective. I’ll definitely keep coming back to never@home!

We brought our group of students through for a few days to visor Cape Town. You offered us the best rates and the best experience. We felt like VIPs and will defs be back!

The hostel has an amazing location at Kloof Street, laying in a safe area of Cape Town. Walking around feels comfortable and there are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby. Lovely staff and amazing volunteers who are eager to make your stay memorable.

I was looking for a hostel for a 5 day solo trip in Cape Town and decided to go with never@home Kloof mostly because of the location and because I still could get a room for myself alone. I thought that maybe I would find other people in the hostel to do some hiking or so with, but I was quite unlucky and none of the weekly activities could go on due to lack of people that had signed up. I hope it's better in summer but in early August not many travelers unfortunately, other guests were mostly there to work or study (they were South Africans who did remote work/study). Considering the noise from the street, I heard some but when I slept with the provided ear plugs it was fine. But definitely not a silent place at night, something to consider if you prefer to sleep in silence.

Thank you for a good time and friendly staff. I have adhd and wasn’t done on time for the check out but they said I can feel free to go to the bathrooms and they keep your bags for you which was such a great help

It was really value for money. But it was so noisy there. Without earplugs do not go there. But I only slept there. It was close to everything.

I had a fantastic stay at N@H Kloof Street! The staff were truly exceptional — super friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The backyard with the braai fire pit is such a vibe — a great place to chill and meet fellow travelers. I also really appreciated the little touches like complimentary tea and coffee, which felt like a small luxury. The yoga classes were a surprising highlight and added something special to the experience. There’s still some room for improvement — soundproofing in the rooms could be better, and the water temperature in the showers was a bit tricky. But overall, I had a great time and gave high ratings across the board. Would definitely stay again!
