"Location of the hotel is perfect for anyone visiting lugu lake. Imagine waking up to the view of the lake and mountains. The hotel is also fairly new with beautiful deco and they have prepared many thoughtful things include disposable towels, disposable bath tub towel, free daily afternoon tea and a short photoshoot. The front desk staff 阿文was also very helpful. A couple of things I wished went better: - breakfast: selection was quite limited and mainly Chinese food. Was not an issue for me as I typically don’t take breakfast. - limited toilet paper: unfortunately my husband and I were down with food poisoning during the trip so the toilet paper quickly became a scarcity. - inconsistent temperature in the shower: the shower on my first night toggled between icy cold and steamy hot even without me adjusting the temperature. Overheard from other guests that they had the same issue as well. The hotel thankfully was able to fix it on my second night. - mattress was too hard, and it felt like I was sleeping directly on the floor… unfortunately the hotel didn’t have an option to add on a topper and it really affected my sleep quality during the two nights we were there. However, preference for a softer mattress is personal. Would have been nice if the hotel has toppers prepared for guests who prefer a softer bed. Overall, it was still a pleasant experience and I’d recommend for anyone visiting lugu lake."

"The hotel is conveniently located near Langfang Wharf, offering stunning views of Lugu Lake right from the doorstep. The rooms are well-equipped, exquisitely designed, and feature a sophisticated aesthetic. Most importantly, the butler, Xiao Yang, and the rest of the team provided incredibly sincere and warm service, from airport/train station pick-up and drop-off to a butter tea experience. They also offered answers to our questions and travel tips in the group chat, making us feel comfortable and at ease. With the breathtaking scenery and comfortable hotel environment, this trip to Lugu Lake was an unforgettable experience."

"The lake view is unbeatable, and the design is excellent. The first three photos were taken with my phone from the lobby. Sitting by the window, enjoying a meal while admiring the lake view, was incredibly relaxing; it truly felt like a vacation, not just a quick photo op. And the food here is delicious, especially the Mosuo pastry with that wonderfully fragrant honey! The room was spacious and comfortable, and kept very clean. The counter-clockwise route they recommended was perfect for avoiding crowds. The staff (both guys and girls) were all super enthusiastic!"

"Booked two rooms, both were excellent. Before we even arrived, customer service representative Yangyang arranged for staff to help us with our luggage and get us settled into our rooms. Any issues we had were promptly addressed. They sent me information about things to do via text, and I could ask questions if anything was unclear. The service was fantastic! 👍"

"Our stay at Lugu Lake Tingxia Island B&B was fantastic! ✨ The rooms have smart toilets and the facilities are brand new. Located halfway up the mountain with lots of greenery, the owner thoughtfully reminded us about mosquitoes, sun protection, and temperature differences. They also provided earplugs and a self-service washer/dryer. In the evenings, there was a heartwarming sweet soup available. The restaurant offers authentic Mosuo specialty dishes. The service was meticulous and attentive, making our dining and stay very comfortable. It was a reassuring and pleasant trip, highly recommended!"

"The lake view room was absolutely stunning, I felt instantly uplifted the moment I walked in! Breakfast could also be enjoyed at the lakeside restaurant, offering both delicious food and beautiful scenery (the oranges at breakfast were incredibly sweet!). The hotel staff were exceptionally attentive. They waited for us at the village entrance upon arrival and enthusiastically helped us with our luggage when we left. They were also very responsive to our needs in the evenings, especially our room's housekeeper, Zhoma, who was truly wonderful!"

"The room design is fantastic! It's very close to Lugu Lake, and you can even see the lake from the hotel. What a shame it rained on my second day, so I couldn't capture more beautiful shots of the hotel. The service here is attentive, and the facilities are excellent. The cats are adorable, and the breakfast is especially delicious. If I get the chance to visit again, I'll definitely stay here to make up for not getting those starry night and floor-to-ceiling window photos, haha!"

"Our trip to Lugu Lake led us to this hidden gem of a hotel! It boasts an incredible view, overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains. The lobby has a fantastic design, and our room's floor-to-ceiling windows offered an unbeatable lake view. The hotel's dining was also excellent, featuring fresh local ingredients and delicious flavors. They offer a rich variety of cultural activities as well; I participated in a fireside chat, sipping butter tea while learning about Mosuo culture. It gave me a wonderful insight into the local customs and traditions, truly experiencing the unique charm of Mosuo culture. What deserves the most praise, however, is the hotel's service. All the staff are genuinely sincere, treating every guest with warmth and attentiveness. I'd especially like to thank Tess from the front desk; she was incredibly kind and thoughtful. As we were checking out and heading back to Lijiang, she thoughtfully offered me an oxygen tank, and knowing I get motion sickness easily, she prepared some motion sickness medication for me – I was truly touched. I also want to thank the gentleman from the restaurant (I don't remember his name); after breakfast, he packed us some bread and fruit for our journey. Our stay at Lugu Lake Indulge & Retreat was truly amazing, and I'm already looking forward to returning in December to stargaze."

"Aside from its location not being directly on Lugu Lake, this hotel is absolutely superb in terms of both its facilities and service! Gavin contacted us a day in advance to understand our needs and estimated arrival time. During our stay, he was also very helpful in resolving any issues or requests. Knowing I was traveling with my parents and that it was my father's birthday, he thoughtfully prepared toiletries for three and even added some simple decorations to the room beforehand – so considerate! We were upgraded to a garden view room and received a complimentary breakfast. Thank you, Gavin! It was the off-peak season and the weather wasn't great, so the hotel wasn't busy, but all the staff members from every department were incredibly kind! I was surprised that even though it wasn't an executive room, they still offered turn-down service and left two face masks. I didn't even get this kind of treatment in an executive room at the Hilton Dali. I must especially commend the intern, Jinhua, at the Chinese restaurant! We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. For dinner, Jinhua directly informed us about available coupons, which saved us a lot of money. She was constantly bustling about, checking if our dishes were ready. She also educated us on the differences and cultures of the Yi, Mosuo, Naxi, and Bai ethnic groups. She even told us about the hotel's rubbings experience. The next morning at breakfast, knowing we were traveling from Lugu Lake back to Lijiang, she kept checking if we had eaten enough. When she went to the kitchen to restock yogurt, she specifically detoured to our table and, seeing that we hadn't had any, offered us yogurt, encouraging us to drink it. Having traveled to many places and countries both domestically and internationally, Jinhua is the most enthusiastic and caring service staff member I have ever encountered. Even a lady from Hong Kong at the table next to us remarked on how excellent Jinhua's service was and, I heard, wrote a glowing review. Perhaps in life, it's hard to meet again, but I will forever remember encountering Jinhua, a warm and always smiling sister, during our Lugu Lake trip in 2026 at the Lugu Lake Indigo. Whether she continues to work in the mountains or ventures out, I wish her a wonderful future."

"Facilities: The facilities are excellent, well-maintained, and stylishly minimalist. The room has a smart toilet, and I absolutely loved the scent of the shampoo and shower gel – I'm definitely buying them for home! Our room also had a lovely little courtyard with a tea set, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea. The showerhead was branded, with perfect water temperature and strong pressure. Cleanliness: I'm a bit of a clean freak, and this hotel room was meticulously clean and tidy. I was very impressed. Location: It's right on Lugu Lake, just a few dozen meters' walk to Daloshui Wharf, and very close to where the bus drops you off. Service: This was the highlight! From the moment we got off the bus, we didn't have to carry our luggage once. The staff and owner contacted us beforehand to confirm our itinerary. As soon as we called them after getting off the bus, they immediately drove over to pick us up. The staff member carried our luggage all the way to our room. When we checked out, the owner also drove us to the bus stop and even carried our bags into the bus's luggage compartment. We literally just walked with our hands free! We had a very comfortable stay! I'll definitely come back for a longer visit next time!"
