Tangko Inn Resort
"We had an absolutely excellent stay at The Tangko Resort Inn. We are bird watchers and before our stay had communicated with Rei at the Tangko Resort and had agreed a “package” for accommodation, all food, transport from Jakarta to the hotel, transport onwards to Carita and then from Carita back to Jakarta. The package also included being taken on the back of motorcycles driven by the hotel’s staff to Gunung Gede NP very early each morning and picking us up late in the day. Rei was nothing short of meticulous in his planning and preparation and everything worked out exceptionally well. Our room was clean, spacious with two queen beds, hot water and a nice balcony/terrace. We had a different Chef and Chef’s assistant in the morning from the evening and both teams produced an amazing quality and quantity of food. Breakfast was often at 4.30am and had 4 to 5 courses and the Chef prepared what can only be described as “Gourmet Packed Lunches”. The evening Chef delighted us with his inspiring dishes. We did not have a menu to choose from, we simply allowed the Chef to cook whatever he felt we would like, after asking us a few questions each day. Each night we were treated to many courses of superb quality food, which was a highlight of our whole trip to Java and Sumatra. All of the staff were unfailingly helpful despite our needing breakfast and transport very early each morning. We stayed mid-week and were the only guests and were looked after expertly. A bonus was a Javan Kingfisher photographed in the garden. A special thank you to Rei who went above and beyond to help us. We highly recommend The Tangko Inn Resort and wish that we could find places of a similar standard in our trips around the world. "
