Hotel Isaacs Cork City

"It takes only 10 minutes to walk from Cork train station with a suitcase. It's basically a straight line. It's all flat. It's very close to the river. The city center shopping center is across the river. It's very convenient. I didn't order breakfast, so I don't know how the hotel breakfast is. The room is spacious and clean with large activity space. The furniture and facilities are good, and the mattress is comfortable to sleep. The beautiful lady at the front desk is very friendly and greeted us in Chinese. The only bad thing is that the room we stayed in was on the second floor facing the street. The bar downstairs was too noisy until late, and light sleepers would be affected. Everything else was perfect."

Belvedere Lodge

"As many reviews mentioned, the breakfast was absolutely wonderful! I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good breakfast. We booked a double room for two, and it was toasty warm even in January (though we couldn't figure out how to turn off the heater!). The room was spacious, with a sofa and table, which was a nice bonus – it was great to have somewhere to sit and relax with a cup of tea besides the bed. The TV turned on, but no channels came through, so we gave up on that. There was no bathtub, just a shower, but the water pressure and temperature were excellent. The decor and building itself had a lovely vintage feel, like a charming old European apartment, but the shower was surprisingly modern."

"Great hotel with fantastic views of the city, while being close enough to be within walking distance of all the cities amenities. The staff were always at hand to help with any requests, and were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay there. The bar and restaurant are a great place to relax and meet friends, and serve a wide array of great quality food and drinks, with lovely outdoor seating to take in the city views."

"The hotel is very conveniently located. You can walk to the British Market. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel facilities and layout are also very tasteful. The designer of this hotel also designed several famous buildings in the city. The only problem is that the toilet drains very slowly. Parking is also charged separately."

Ouvane Falls

"Disappointing. Couldn’t find my booking at all. After getting a room and resting somebody entered to show the room to somebody else. Unfortunately there was a group of ladies booked at the same time and they made a lot of noise and nobody stopping them so I got up at 3.30. Shouted at them and they went to bed. Went for a shower but no hot water. Asked for a fried egg and 2 sausages for breakfast. That took 45 minutes. It could be a great place with some organisation. We were probably unlucky on the night"

"Fabulous place to stay. Very comfortable, really clean and wonderful hospitality. Aniko, Aoife and John were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious with excellent coffee and cooked breakfast made freshly to order. Highly recommend!"

"10/10 experience. Our room was lovely, bed was comfy, spotlessly clean, use of a large lounge area and the view!!! Breakfast was the best I’ve had in a B&B. All the usual breakfast food was there, cereal, toast, juice, fresh fruit and yogurt. Plus she had a full breakfast menu to choose from! All served efficiently and piping hot! I would totally recommend this place for exploring the south east of Ireland."

Casey's of Baltimore Collection

"We were made to feel really welcome at Casey’s as soon as we arrived. We were staying in one of the Lodge rooms which is a very short walk from the main hotel and was clean and fresh and had everything we needed. It’s a 10 minute walk into town and Casey’s will lend you a high vis jacket if needed as only part of the route has a pedestrian path. We originally booked Casey’s because it was also a Brewpub but were disappointed on arrival to find out that the master brewer was away and none of their own beer was available. We mentioned this to Dominic (who we didn’t realise was the boss) and he turned up at our door less than 10 minutes later with a pint of their IPA and a couple of huge home made scones. He’d managed to find a keg and had tapped it for us. Could you ask for better service? The breakfast was the best I had in my few days in Ireland - the smoked mackerel with scrambled eggs was perfectly cooked and made such a nice change. Dominic and his staff showed exactly what the renowned Irish hospitality is all about and we would happily stay there again."

"Travelled here to visit friends. The hotel is deceptively spacious with a leisure centre. The furniture in my room is need of a refurb and the location of my room meant I was awake early with loud gym music. Apart from that the hotel has a great atmosphere, the food is really good and the staff are super, especially Carole in the breakfast room who cannot be faulted."

"The room is comfortable, spacious and bright. The bed is especially comfortable. The food is delicious. The hotel staff is very enthusiastic. When they learned that 10.5 was the last breakfast, the restaurant manager Cosca (not sure if it is spelled correctly) immediately exempted us from the full breakfast for two on the morning of the 5th. The overall living experience made my husband and I feel at home. Next time I have the opportunity to come to Cork, Ireland, I will stay at River Lee again!"
