La Falaise Hotel ★★★

📍 2 Cr Gambetta, Cotignac

"Hotel La Falaise provides a grim look at the state of hospitality in the post covid era. Be sure to bring your phone and subscribe to an international data plan. You will need it for checking in and getting into your room each time. You will need to download an app that didn't work for two tech savvy travelers until the 5th and 7th tries. Curiously for a place that is in love with QR codes and soul less communication, they offer their visitors wifi with a security certificate that expired a year ago. My phone rebelled each time i tried to connect. Luckily, a nearby cafe has customer centric values and offers what used to be defined as hospitality, that human connection. The room was fine, the guest experience wasn't so great. "

"Very very bad experience. Poor service, no laundry, dry clean and even pressing service. Incompetent, not helpful."

Guesthouse le Mas de Cotignac ★★★★

📍 2930 route de Carcès, Cotignac

"We have found our favourite spot in Provence. 2025 we visited Mas de Cotignac two times. As always it is a wonderful pleasure coming back. The rooms, the garden, the pool, the meals are all of a very high quality. The Mas is extremely well maintained to every little detail. it is so relaxing beeing there. The day starts with a delicious breakfast. Afterwards we like to go around in the wonderful area of Provence verte, coming back to the property enjoying the lovely pool with a drink before an excellant dinner. The dinners are a «symphonie fantastique» as come to the ingredients, the presentation and the flavour and taste. It is simply incredible what Denis is able to create. The wines from their rich winemenu, bring the meals up to amaxing heights. Sylvie and Denis are the most welcoming and caring hosts and make us feel very much at home. THANK YOU also this year. See you next year which will be our 7th stay."

La Falaise Hotel ★★★
"What a terrible experience! This hotel aspires to be the exact opposite of welcoming. We arrived today, only to learn that we needed to download an app in order to check in. The app is poorly engineered, needed several tries, but eventually it onboarded us. It then required a phone number for access, so we had to pay $10 to turn on our US phones for the security code. The app unlocked the hotel door and our individual rooms—zero humans onsite and no help with luggage. Then we’re in our rooms, where we were greeted with a QR code that linked to a site with more info, including the wifi access link—which we couldn’t access because (duh) we weren’t connected to the Internet. (What are these people thinking?! ) Our rooms are functional and well enough equipped, nothing particularly warm about them. Housekeeping is only every 3-4 days, and replacement towels cost €5. No robes provided. The hotel is on somewhat of a thoroughfare, so it’s noisy, even at night. We love Cotignac. That’s the good part."

"Nice Hotel in a lovely location...the problem is the staff. I'm not sure if it's lack of customer service because they are not trained properly or because they are simply rude. Out of the staff we did see during our stay I would say ten per cent of them knew how to converse with the guests...some said they did not speak/understand English (turns out they did) and made it difficult to converse as a guest - not ideal. The main issue I have with this Hotel is the service particularly in the restaurants - terrible and very poor attitude. Whilst the Hotel is trying to be 'eco' the price of a room does not reflect what is on offer - the rooms are nice, spacious and clean but there is no housekeeping service although reception tell you there is - the bed is made and thats it....so, you basically pay for the room but don't expect anything else"

"An amazing location close to the wonderful village of Cotignac. The rooms are clean, well-designed, and managed with attention to detail. All five rooms face the garden, overlooking the outdoor pool. Chef Denis cooks star-level dinners and amazing breakfasts."
