For anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen city life, but without the hassle of traveling too far or expending too much energy, this hotel is the most effortless and ideal choice for a relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, a friendly security guard promptly opened our car door. A female bellhop then proactively assisted with our luggage and guided us to the front desk. The reception staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The entire check-in process was smooth, swift, and comfortable, feeling as seamless as a dream. What truly stood out and deserves special commendation was the exceptional service from the front desk staff. After exchanging contact information, one particular staff member took care of us throughout our entire stay with incredible attentiveness. Their care was apparent morning, noon, and night. In the morning, they would greet us, share hotel information, and even advise on the best time to check-in to avoid waiting. Around midday, they'd follow up to ensure our room experience was satisfactory. In the evening, they'd kindly remind us to close the balcony door, as the hotel's lakeside and mountainous setting sometimes attracts 'little critters' like mosquitoes and other small animals. Their post-check-in service left us thoroughly impressed and extremely satisfied. They consistently demonstrated professionalism and meticulously handled all our arrangements through detailed communication. This proactive, 'go-the-extra-mile' service deeply touched us as guests. Such dedication solidified our appreciation for the hotel's professionalism, truly demonstrating that attention to detail makes all the difference. The hotel room itself was incredibly spacious, measuring over 70 square meters. It felt huge and expansive, providing more than enough space for the two of us. During evening turn-down service, the room was infused with Banyan Tree's signature essential oils and aromatherapy scents, which was incredibly soothing – exactly the kind of sensory luxury you'd expect from such a brand. The bed was large, and the bedding exceptionally comfortable. Coupled with the soft, warm lighting, it created a perfect ambiance for sleep. As someone who often struggles with insomnia, I found myself drifting off quickly and comfortably that night without any trouble. The in-room toiletries were Banyan Tree's exclusive products, which we absolutely loved. The shampoo, in particular, left my hair feeling wonderfully voluminous. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered some online after returning home. While the overall footprint of the hotel grounds isn't massive, the walk from the lobby to the Chinese restaurant takes about 7 minutes, which was actually quite pleasant. The landscaping along the way is beautifully maintained, and we even spotted two charming geese – a delightful little surprise! The hotel's design and decor are incredibly photogenic, with a color palette that makes for stunning pictures. We spent a joyous day exploring the hotel with our camera, snapping photos everywhere, and honestly felt like there wasn't enough time. The hotel also offers bicycle rentals, costing around 50 RMB per bike per hour. Since we were only there for a short 2-day, 1-night stay, we didn't have enough time to rent bikes and explore the surroundings. Overall, our stay experience at the hotel was excellent. This vacation, complete with mountains, a lake, the Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake's exceptional service, and our joyful memories, was truly unforgettable.

The outdoor infinity pool directly faces Songshan Lake; swimming there, a gentle breeze brushed my face, with panoramic views of the lake and mountains stretching as far as the eye could see. It was truly therapeutic for both mind and body. The gym boasts new and comprehensive equipment, perfectly catering to all workout needs, and the kids' club offered a wide array of play facilities, keeping the children thoroughly entertained. The hotel's restaurants also pleasantly surprised me. The buffet breakfast at Miyen Restaurant was extensive, featuring both Western and Chinese delicacies, as well as local specialties, all fresh and delicious. At Baiyun Chinese Restaurant, the authentic Cantonese cuisine, prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection, made every bite a true culinary pleasure. Staying here allowed me to fully relax and unwind. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next getaway!

As the first Banyan Tree in South China, this hotel truly is the closest healing retreat for those coming from Guangzhou and Shenzhen. While the property isn't exceptionally large, both the quality of its decor and the service are absolutely outstanding. They provide dedicated service staff, and our assistant, Nicholas, genuinely offered 24/7 service. We were thoroughly impressed! I'll definitely be returning to this hotel.

I booked a standard room, but they upgraded me to a tent-themed family room, which my child absolutely loved! And by the way, their air conditioning is incredibly quiet, and the duvet was so comfortable. The TV in the room even displayed a welcome message with my name on it – such a thoughtful touch! I even told my friends today that we should definitely go back there again with our kids. After dinner, there was a singer hired by the hotel performing, which created a wonderful atmosphere. The Banyan Tree's amenities and facilities are, as always, top-notch and truly luxurious. The only minor downside this time was the crowd; it was so busy that we even had to queue for breakfast. Despite the numbers, everything was managed quite smoothly. This might have been due to a special event. It was also our first time having to park on B2, which meant going up to B1 and then switching elevators – a slight inconvenience. Next time, I'll definitely avoid visiting during a summer weekend! Our kids absolutely loved painting the mini houses this time; highly recommended! The pool environment is also superb, truly excellent. And the gym was wonderfully quiet in the mornings, which was very relaxing. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

The hotel's Chinese restaurant was just okay – nothing special. The broth for the clear soup and the yellow croaker noodles tasted identical, which was a bit disappointing. The facilities generally covered all the essentials. However, from 2 PM to 5:30 PM, there were no proper meal options available outside of the lobby bar, which itself had a very limited selection. Upon checking out, we mentioned to the front desk that we were planning to eat at the hotel restaurant, and they actually suggested we go to McDonald's instead, which was quite surprising. Overall, finding a resort of this caliber in Guangdong is quite rare. I hope they can improve the amenities and diversify the activities; that would truly elevate the experience.

The overall environment was excellent, the facilities were new, and cleanliness was impeccable. However, for a family trip, I believe there's significant room for improvement. This is especially true since we booked a family room and had two young children with us. The hotel, however, did not proactively offer any children's amenities; we had to call and request everything we needed. With Chikungunya fever being prevalent lately, I was disappointed by the hotel's mosquito prevention, as we received numerous bites. While a few staff members were genuinely friendly, the majority were quite aloof, and I didn't feel we received the level of service expected for the price paid. On a more positive note, the hotel's environmental design and the attention to detail in many of its facilities were quite commendable. The complimentary travel photoshoot was exceptional, producing stunning pictures; we even went over budget to purchase the full package. Breakfast was also quite delicious, and the bedtime aromatherapy scent was very pleasant.

Overall, I was very pleased with my stay, especially enjoying the private soaking tub on the balcony. I plan to return for another two-night stay when the weather is a bit cooler. We were upgraded to a fantastic room with a superb lake view. Our butler, Mia Chen, also provided excellent and attentive service. The only minor drawbacks were the number of mosquitoes in the outdoor common areas, and the room's soundproofing could be better – we could hear children stomping and bouncing around.
