"We arrived very late at 2.30am and received prompt response and were given our room keys very quickly to avoid a lengthy check in. We were also given an update which we realised when we entered our bedroom which was a nice surprise. Late check out was appreciated so we had a nice lie in. "Hotel clean, breakfast had a god variety of food location is great. Unfortunately we had an issue outside our bedroom which I reported to reception in the morning as I feel it is a security issue. In the middle of the night we had a man knock on our door and he tried to get in. He was walking up and down the corridor and appeared to be drunk. He then lay outside our room and fell asleep. About 30 minutes later we heard him again knock on another door. Although we think he was probably a resident it did concern us as anyone could get access to the bedrooms as there is no security to get up the stairs. There is no swipe card access and I think this needs to be addressed as it is a safety concern."

"Just off M5, very convenient place if you either transit the south of the country or you want to visit Exeter but prefer to stay away for the city. We had a family room which was spacious and clean. The beds were clean and fresh and the bathroom was spotless. We also had a complimentary fan as it was really warm so all together helped us have an amazing night sleep. On the arrival we was welcomed by the receptionist Sophie. The check-in was really quick and she also registered our car for free parking for the time we was booked at the hotel. I would also like to thank to the other receptionist (I don't know her name unfortunately) she was working during our second night and she provided more milk for the morning drinks. I was concerned about the noise coming from the motorway but I was pleasantly surprised not to bother us. Yes you can hear it, mostly at day time as you are by a major motorway, but it's definitely not extreme. Inside the hotel the noise level was minimal even at day time when the house keeping team were cleaning the rooms. The only little downside was finding out that the Bar and Grill next door is closed. I don't know if it was under the same management but in my opinion would make a positive difference if reopened. We had a great stay with no issues and we highly recommend this hotel."

Only issue being the outside noise coming thru the closed window... A nearby car doing donuts nearby for 15 mins around 1am in the night. Parking cost is additional which is unfortunate esp as they charge a discounted rate of 7 pounds... The near located steakhouse is way too expensive for the meals it offers..."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the cathedral in the city center. It has a rooftop bar, and there are many good restaurants nearby. However, the hygiene is quite average. I'm not sure if there were bugs, and the bed sheets sometimes had black stains, even after they were changed. Also, they placed the bath mat and body towels together, which was uncomfortable. There was one housekeeper, a blonde middle-aged woman, whose service was very poor. When she saw I was non-white, her expression was very subtle, as if serving a non-white person was something very embarrassing for her. And she didn't change the bed sheets as I requested. But the front desk staff were all very friendly, and the hotel room facilities were also good. It's just the hygiene and housekeeping service that could be much better."
