Hyatt Regency Changbaishan

The hotel is very well-maintained, and the service is warm and attentive. We came here to celebrate a birthday, and the front desk upgraded us to a suite upon learning about it, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Right outside the B1 town exit, there's a delicious Ginseng Chicken Soup restaurant, so dining is very convenient. The shuttle bus stop is also the first one, making the location excellent. From the ski hut, you can step right out onto the snow and start skiing immediately. Although it's a bit of a walk to the beginner slope, you can still get there with your skis on, so it's quite convenient. The experience was fantastic, and we'd love to come back again if we have the chance.

Hyatt's service is always very reliable. Manager Tina called us even before we checked in to remind us of some important details, including check-in and check-out procedures, which was very thoughtful. The quality of Hyatt's Chinese restaurant is also consistently good, offering a unique flavor compared to the Cai Feng Lou at the Crown Plaza on the north slope. The hotel has a great ambiance. All the staff are very welcoming to guests, especially the duty manager, Alisa, who thoughtfully confirmed our itinerary before our trip – many thanks to her. The breakfast is good, with some items rotating daily, which adds a nice touch of freshness. The uncle responsible for the dogs even offered to help us take photos, which was much appreciated!

As a 'five-star hotel' costing several thousand yuan a night, I'm genuinely baffled as to what makes you worth that price. Let me preface this by saying I lead a bespoke high-end travel agency and have stayed in numerous ski and hot spring five-star hotels, both domestically and internationally. My intention was to experience this hotel for myself before incorporating it into itineraries for my discerning clients. However, this so-called five-star establishment falls significantly short. Let's start with breakfast. I grew up in Hulunbuir; I can tell good milk by its smell alone! Shouldn't you at least use a branded milk? Is this just non-dairy creamer mixed with water? I felt quite unwell after drinking it. When I asked what kind of milk you used, the answer was: Mengniu. Having grown up on the grasslands, I knew something wasn't right. Eventually, they brought out a brand of milk I'd never seen before. Just be honest about it; guests can accept the truth. The breakfast, honestly, does not justify this hotel's price or reputation. The noodles were cooked for maybe 10 seconds and given to me raw. When the manager arrived, he said, 'Ah, yes, we do have a limited selection of stir-fried dishes. I can note down any suggestions you have.' You claim a 3000-yuan-a-night stay primarily includes ski, hot spring, and water park access. (His implication was probably that the hotel itself isn't that expensive, and most of the cost is for the entertainment tickets. But if I don't use those benefits, will you refund the tickets? I didn't even use them! Am I just supposed to accept paying 3000 for one night?) But with this level of service and dining, you truly don't deserve your spot on the list of the top 100 ski hotels globally. It's genuinely disappointing. Then there's the issue of how your front desk explains things to guests. Your room includes ski access for two people. I arrived that afternoon, and if the snow conditions were particularly bad, I wouldn't be able to re-enter the next morning. The front desk tried to pressure me by invoking the 'tourism resort area' rules and told me to complain if I wasn't happy. Is that how your establishment solves problems? The front desk小姐姐 (young lady) who checked me in did explain things thoroughly, but once inside the room, there was a layer of dust on the glass and in the crevices of the wooden drawers – it felt like prehistoric dust. The wardrobe door was also coming off. It looked exactly like an old, worn-out domestic three-star hotel. If your hardware is lacking, please improve your software. The service was polite, I can't deny that, but politeness alone is useless if nothing is actually done well. I chose the most expensive Hyatt hotel in the resort area, thinking it would be better than the Wanda Suite Hotel. This was truly a rather poor stay.

The lighting in the room was too dim, and the soundproofing was terrible; you could hear every step of people walking by the door clearly. The room service, however, was quite responsive, and the cleaning staff were excellent and very enthusiastic. They even entertained my child while cleaning. But the front desk staff at the swimming area had a real attitude problem. I took my child swimming, and it was already tiring holding a crying baby, yet her attitude was cold and her movements were incredibly slow. When I asked to buy a swimsuit, she said, 'Are you sure you want to look? Each one costs three or four hundred.' I had to insist multiple times before she finally opened the display cabinet, only to find the kids' swimsuits were just over a hundred yuan. Overall, the experience was just mediocre, and frankly, it wasn't worth the price.
