"This property is stunningly beautiful. We stayed in two rooms, one was perfect, the other room did have some mildew odors. The food is exquisite, the staff are friendly and professional. I even witnessed one woman working the desk keep her calm and professional demeanor with a pair of very upset German lawyers (they had made a mistake when booking, and were trying to blame the hotel). Our only other complaint was that the pool was experiencing a leak during our stay and was not usable. These things happen. Also note: there are very few other places to eat in this village."

"As someone who has been to villa occitana multiple times in the last few years, I left extremely disappointed and will more than likely never go back unless it changes back to the way it once was. Previous times I have visited, most recently April 2025, before my last visit, the menu had been the same and the drinks were the same delicious cocktails. However, I’m not sure if there has been a change of ownership or what the story is but it has completely gone downhill. Previously cocktails were delicious, original to villa occitana, extremely great value for money. The cocktails myself and my boyfriend got this time, I don’t think you can even call cocktails! They were watered down, almost tasted like no alcohol in them, in miserable slim Jim glasses and charging the same price!! Absolutely awful. Next was the food…. I had hyped up this place to my boyfriend, ranting and raving about the food. Well once again we were extremely disappointed. We had a “beef salad”, that had 4 small pieces of beef and was on a bed of noodles that were soaked in what just tasted like vinegar. Next we got crispy prawns, the prawns hadn’t been cleaned, still visibly dirty on the inside! The other food we got was okay but again nothing special and nothing we would go back for. The staff were also very rude and seem incompetent. We were never asked how we were getting on, we asked for water never received it, placed on a crammed table for all our food. We had planned on staying for the evening , specifically booking on a Saturday evening where we could spend the night having some cocktails and relaxing to end our holiday. But that was far from the case, we couldn’t have gotten out of the place any quicker and instead left and went to another local restaurant were the food and drinks were much tastier and better and for a fraction of the price. I’m never a person to leave a review, but with this place that used to have such a high standard of food and drinks to go downhill so quickly in the space of two months is absolutely shocking. And I speak for myself and family and friends we will never be back unless we see huge changes back to how it used to be!"

"There was no front desk after 8 PM, and the key box contained about ten keys. I encountered an elderly gentleman who didn't speak French and felt helpless. At 11 PM, cars couldn't even get into the parking lot. This hotel is really laid-back; they're not offering refunds, and whether you stay or not is up to you."

"Over recent months, my family and I have travelled repeatedly between London and Avignon while my mother has been gravely ill in hospital. We have now stayed at Château L’Insolas three times: my wife coming and going as work allowed, my mother-in-law remaining throughout. What began as a practical base during an exceptionally difficult period quickly became something far more meaningful, a place of quiet refuge that we returned to with genuine relief each time. I have spent thirty years in hospitality, much of it at the very upper end of the industry, and I do not offer praise of this kind lightly. Château L’Insolas is not, by definition, a full-service hotel, nor does it pretend to be. And yet the level of care, warmth, and attentiveness shown here stands honest comparison with the finest properties I have ever stayed in, anywhere. That is overwhelmingly down to Kenzo, who manages the property with remarkable grace and instinctive hospitality, and to his mother, whose work as housekeeper is carried out with quiet pride and unfailing generosity of spirit. Together with the wider team, they have anticipated needs we had not even voiced, absorbed unusual and shifting schedules without a flicker of inconvenience, and shown the kind of human kindness that simply cannot be trained. On more than one occasion their thoughtfulness lifted what had otherwise been a very heavy day. Credit must equally go to the owner, Jean-Marc Robert, whose vision in creating this property is, quite simply, inspired. The setting on the edge of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, one of the most charming and historically rich villages in Provence, is faultless, and every detail of the château speaks of considered, intelligent design and genuine love for the craft. To Kenzo, his mother, the wider team, and Monsieur Robert: thank you. You have made an impossibly difficult chapter in our lives bearable, and at moments, unexpectedly beautiful. We will return in happier circumstances, and we will continue recommending Château L’Insolas, without hesitation, to anyone fortunate enough to be heading to this corner of France."

Zenitude Hôtel-Résidences Nîmes Centre

"The hotel benefits from a prime location, which is definitely its strongest point. However, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The rooms are very basic, furnished with old, minimalist pieces that feel worn and outdated. Basic amenities were lacking—there were no bath towels provided upon arrival, and they were only supplied the following day after I had to request them. Breakfast service was also disappointing. Even an hour after opening, and two until the end of service, there were no fruits or boiled eggs available, despite indications that these items had been offered earlier. The dining area was not well maintained, with dirty tables left uncleared. I Had to clean the table for use. It appeared that only one staff member was responsible for managing reception, restocking breakfast items, and cleaning tables, which significantly impacted the level of service. Overall, while the location is excellent, the hotel would benefit greatly from improvements in cleanliness, staffing, and basic guest amenities."

"We stayed at this brand new hotel (open since fall 2023). Everytime was great. The location, the room, the kind staff, the attention to detail, breakfast and dinner. And the heated outdoor pool. The domain is situated at the border of a small village with views on the fields. Shortly connected to the nice town of Uzes and the larger city of Nimes. As the weather was not great, we visited all highlights of the Gard and the Provence and had a great stay. We can highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a few days of rest, or as a fallout for visiting the region. We met the passionate and kind owners who will surely make this hotel a great succes! Five stars!"

"Where can we start. Our stay at Mas de l’Esperance was perfection. From the moment we arrived to the warmest of welcomes. As a big family our rooms were perfect, everything we could have wished for as a young family. My mother also stayed with us and had the most perfect stay. Both rooms had everything you could ask for. The family suite had 2 connecting rooms and 2 bathrooms in a lovely location. My mum stayed in the main part of the house and it was equally as breathtaking. Fully renovated and extremely clean and comfortable. We arrived late afternoon and straight away our request for champagne was met. We then enjoyed the most delicious meal, as we did each evening we were there. Breakfast was also superb. Mostly homemade or locally sourced ingredients. Nothing was too much for the hosts. We traveled with 2 x 5 year olds and a 10 month old and every need was met with no question. The heated pool was a dream and we spent a very relaxing day around it. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Mas de l’Esperance. Our stay was absolutely perfect."
