"All good apart from a couple of things: - I was unaware that the payment for the two rooms was taken 10 days before we checked in. ...(on the booking it said 'pay at hotel'). - the 'fixed price menu' offered on the dinner menu should state 'only available Monday toThursday'. - on looking back, my booking confirmation promised a complimentary bottle of Tilford ale. .no sign of that in our room."

"Really cute hotel rooms...very comfortable...and nicely designed rooms in a period property. All the staff were verry friendly. The bar downstairs is very good with a wide range of drinks. Super town centre location. Highly recommended."

"The setting is beautiful and the perfect place to relax with friends. I asked for boules for the boules pit and they found them, meaning we could have a lovely relaxing day on the lawn. The only thing I felt was that as we had arrived the day after a wedding, maybe they need to employ more people to clean the rooms knowing how busy they would be. Also have more people on the desk for checkout after a wedding."

"We have been to The Crown previously on several occasions, including a stay for one Christmas. Thoroughly enjoying the great setting, its history, food, drink & the relaxed atmosphere on every occasion. For early March my husband & I booked to have a night away with friends (including dinner) to celebrate my 50th. Amy & Daniel, were faultless in the planning & execution of the weekend away. Having arrived on the Saturday afternoon, with a friendly greeting, we eased into the start of our weekend. Firstly, enjoyed a few drinks together while watching the 6 nations rugby with some of the lovely locals. For our dinner party of 6, we had reserved a round table- Kicking the night off with a cocktail each. Then chose from a superb selection of wines to have with dinner. The food was of its usual high standard from starter to desert. The hotel rooms were also of the very high standard we have come to expect… complete with fluffy towels, very comfortable beds & anything else you should need. We finished off a very enjoyable weekend with the outstanding choice of cooked breakfast with fresh coffee/tea & fresh squeezed orange juice. I can’t thank The staff at The Crown enough & would highly recommend it for all manor of celebrations & equally for a quiet/relaxing Sunday lunch, night out or a quiet pint."
