"This has to be the best place I have ever stayed. There are not words good enough to describe how good my stay was. The host is so friendly and accommodating. Bend over backwards to help. All the staff are wonderful as well. Breakfast is all local produce and tasted amazing and fills you up. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Lovely views from massive back garden. Very easy to find the location as well. Highly recommended!!!!!!"

"Second time visitors to The George Carvery and once again the place has exceeded our expectations. We were visiting the North of England woodworking show at the famous Harrogate Showground, this time we encouraged some friends of ours to travel the short distance and try here after a number of disappointing stays at the premier inn. As always the staff are friendly and attentive, the food was of a very good standard and the feedback I received from my friends was all just as positive! And all this for a fraction of the cost of their previous choice! Room was comfortable and clean with a nice ambiance, my wife especially likes the decor and the natural light from the large window. The George does not do a breakfast BUT they did point us in the direction of a very nearby breakfast option so no negatives from us for that at all. The whole place is clean, friendly and welcoming, what’s not to love?! 5 stars from us, we will be back again next time!"

"They have kinda missed the point that the second “B” in “B&B” stands for “Breakfast”. Only a meagre continental breakfast was served - which may be alright on the continent but is totally unacceptable in England where we expect a full cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, fried bread, mushrooms, baked beans and fried potatoes, for example) to set us up for the day. Having said that, the staff were nice, the rooms comfortable, if rather jaded, and the location within 20 minutes walk of the town centre. Just a pity that they send you out hungry."
