"The hotel forced me to pay the tax even though I am a tourist This is unacceptable"

"I would leave minus 10 stars if it was an option. I booked through a 3rd party website. When I arrived, they told me that it’s a common mistake people make when using that website that they don’t make the booking correctly and that I need to pay an extra 1500nis if I want to stay. I had travelled all day with my young kids and couldn’t bear the thought of not having anywhere for them to stay so I agreed to pay it. My cards wouldn’t work there (even though they worked many times on the way to the hotel for public transport). They told me there’s a problem with their machine and I need to pay cash. I have refused but they told me they will take that amount before I leave from the card I have saved with them. I have 2 rooms, although a good size they are dated, mouldy, the ceiling is leaking from the air conditioning. There are hundreds of cockroaches in my room. They have given me a spray to kill them. I physically feel sick staying in this hotel. My children are crying and will not sleep as they are scared of the cockroaches. I have asked the hotel for a refund so that I can go stay somewhere safe but they will not agree to compensate me. Avoid this hotel at all costs. The staff are rude, have tried to steal money from me and have offered me no help"

"I have never had such rude staff experience in any hotel. Our breakfast was almost non-existent; the staff claimed they didn't owe us anything specific for breakfast and then claimed the dining room was closed for renovations (which is was not, it was closed as they had few guests and wanted to save staff) without telling us this when we checked in. I complained that we should have been informed when we checked in and they said "we don't owe you explanations". There were no waiters for breakfast. To make matters worse, the breakfast in the lobby had very little food; we had to wait 20 minutes for spoons, for milk; the bread and buns were not fresh and only served once we asked for them twice; there was no hot food; there were no salads (except a vegetable salad which we also had to wait for); no fresh fruit; nothing to put on bread (and we had to wait for them to bring it from the dining room). Disgraceful. After shouting, I finally got a voucher for the next day for a different hotel's breakfast. Our stay was horrible. Better to have told us WHEN WE CHECKED IN that there was no breakfast and no patio [apparently building the succa the one morning] and to have offered us a voucher IN ADVANCE for facilities at a different hotel."

"If you want to ruin your vacation, check into a hotel and be greeted with a terrible reception. The reception staff is incompetent. The receptionist will refuse to check you in at night, demanding a photo of your bank card, even though you've already paid for the hotel. If you extend your stay, you'll be cursed out, especially by the elderly receptionist, who probably thinks he's the manager. I've never experienced so much negativity in all my travels. Unfortunately, the location means I have to endure this horror. Be prepared for the maids to pretend they forgot to put things in their bags, too. 😂 Basically, if you want bad service for a lot of money, this is the place for you."

"Avoid. Avoid. Although the room was clean and the bed was comfortable and it is in a great location, they take 200 shekel deposit. They will find all the reasons to steal the deposit from you. I had the same problem 3 years ago, but this time, I didn't want to leave the room until they returned the deposit. Also, the person that I had the room from was the most rude and abnocious person I had ever met."

"We celebrated an important family event at the hotel. The hotel itself and the rooms, the food and the facilities are very high quality and very pampering. The view of the coastline is great. The hotel staff is professional, helpful and available and responds to any need and request that may arise. Highly recommended."
