"I couldn't find the location the first time. After contacting the hotel staff, they came to pick me up. Later, they said that because the rural inn was under renovation, they automatically upgraded me to the room type of the old oil factory store. The aunties were very warm and friendly. The service was very good. I ordered a fish and vegetables for dinner. They were all fresh and delicious. The room was relatively simple and retained the previous characteristics. The lobby and restaurant of the entire inn were very stylish and designed. It was a very good experience."

"A very satisfying living experience! The homestay is very close to the parking lot, and the owner is very hospitable. We just arrived and didn't know the way. The owner came to the parking lot to pick us up. Seeing that we had a lot of luggage, he helped us carry it. When we came, we took the bluestone road with a small stream, and when we went back, we took the path close to the parking lot. It was very friendly.
The homestay is located in the ancient Huizhou architecture, and even every room is named after poetry, books, chess, and poetry. It is very artistic. There are swings and small tables outside. "The location is excellent, right in the heart of the scenic area. The hotel also provides station pick-up and drop-off, making for a seamless and very convenient experience. Although it was my first time booking a B&B, I was truly impressed. As mentioned in other reviews, the service was outstanding, and responses were prompt. All staff members were incredibly attentive and helpful. The restaurant food was also delicious; I particularly recommend the roasted local pork chop. My only minor suggestion would be for the breakfast to offer a bit more variety. They also provide a thoughtful and considerate laundry service. Our butler even gave us a tour of the B&B's other facilities and courtyard, which was a very pleasant surprise. Just one suggestion: it would be great if the children's policy could be more flexible or accommodating. While our specific issues were resolved smoothly, an initially unaccommodating policy might deter many potential guests."

"From Huangshan, we looked into nearby places to visit and decided to head straight to Xidi after a quick search, bypassing Hongcun. Upon arrival, the B&B owner provided convenient pick-up and drop-off service (even dropping us off at Yixian East Station when we departed). We also had the delightful company of Laifu, a lovely dog. Our room was impeccably clean and well-equipped, and the owner even prepared a fresh breakfast for us. The biggest highlight, without a doubt, was the owner themselves. Beyond that, the house's architecture and the beautifully designed small courtyard created a truly serene and picturesque setting. It was perfect for enjoying tea, feeding the fish, or simply unwinding and daydreaming. Highly recommended!"

"It is very isolated and clean here. I didn’t expect that such a unique B&B is hidden in such a remote village. When you walk into this inn called ”Pig Pen Bar”, you will be leaning on the sofa or lying on the bed. It can be said that every hair and cell is fully enjoying the environment here. Unlike most hotels within the village, this hotel has conserved the architecture of the exterior and interior of the over 300 years old structure. It is well maintained with modern amenities and a nice manicured garden filled with bonsai plants. The Chinese breakfast was simple and nice. The menu has a good range of beverages and the food was good at reasonable prices.
The room we stayed was small but cozy. It is within the main building and just outside the room there is a reading lounge. It was quiet and hardly used while we were there.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

GGuest UserMy stay at the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was a mix of delight and slight inconvenience. The hotel's interior is beautifully designed, featuring many artistic elements that create a unique and charming atmosphere. However, there were some small design issues that detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.
One issue was the bed frame, which was positioned in such a way that it was easy to accidentally knock into it. Additionally, the courtyard rooms, while picturesque, were not directly connected to the main building, requiring a short walk, which was less than ideal during rainy weather.
Furthermore, navigating the hotel involved quite a number of steps and uneven surfaces, which could be hazardous if one is not careful. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel's overall ambiance and artistic flair made for a memorable stay. With a few adjustments, the Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel could truly shine as a top-notch destination.

DDeAlchemistThe owner sent someone to pick me from the west gate after i was missing the way to the hotel and tired dragging the luggage on uneven stone road. The owner has surprised me with an upgraded room with a little garden and projector. The owner and staffs are very friendly and helpful too.
The hotel is clean, modern and well design. It consists 2 buildings which are separated by the walkway. The location is perfect and short walking distance to west gate which is surrounded by restaurants and shops out of the hongcun scenic area. I had an enjoyable walk out of the scenic area after my early morning photography at 5am and before tourists have started flocking in.
A stay in hungcun is highly recommended if you are planning to have a peaceful photography session without any tourists at all. I will not wake up such early at 5am without the recommendations given by the owner. You will expect the calm and clearer water. Do take note that the locals may wash their clothes thus interrupting the calmness of the water.
I will definitely stay in this hotel again if going to hungcun again.

SShanna LeighTraveling with 2 of my friends on a fun girls trip! This was such an amazing location. We went from a sad and boring hotel in Beijing to this fantastic location and suddenly the whole trip was more fun and much more interesting. The host met us at the entrance to Hongcun and carried our luggage in the back of his little vehicle as we followed him around quaint buildings and through a narrow cobblestone walkway which was perfect for walking and pretty impressive to drive thru without scratching anything. After the beautiful walk we came through the most beautiful circle archway and into the cutest courtyard. We rented the room with a queen bed downstairs and 2 full beds up in the loft. The rooms were so cute we had to hide our luggage to do a full video tour to show our families before unpacking. The beds have mattress toppers which helped soften up the beds for us Americans. The host was very helpful and I would suggest getting WeChat to translate if you don’t speak Chinese. I don’t but it was easy to communicate. I would definitely stay at here again. Highly recommended!

I searched on Ctrip for a long time, worried about hygiene issues, but this guesthouse really paid attention to details and was very clean. The moment I opened the door, the automatic welcoming ceremony from 'Xiao Ai' (smart speaker) was very touching. It's right at the entrance of Hongcun and the price is excellent value for money. The proprietress is very kind, and the young man who checked me in, Manager Xiao Wang, was extremely helpful with excellent service. From picking me up at the station to helping me find a car for my travels, he saved me the anxiety and exhaustion of not having a car in Hongcun. The prices were also reasonable. Anyone worried about drivers getting upset in Hongcun can completely entrust their needs to him. At the village entrance, he even used a small electric cart to help with my luggage. There are Hello e-bikes nearby, so you can go to Lucun early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Thank you for providing such a 'utopia' after my busy work. The hygiene was indeed top-notch!

AAnonymous UserTo be honest, I don't like staying in B&Bs. Most B&Bs are not very grand. They are just for making quick money, but they don't provide any service. The employees are usually just friends or relatives, or they are from the same village, so there is no service to speak of. I would like to talk about my feelings about staying in this hotel. I won’t talk about the accommodation environment for now. Holiday economy housing is definitely expensive. We took a shower first after we moved in. Because the B&B didn’t provide laundry detergent or something like that, I used shower gel to wash my clothes. After washing, I found that there were not enough bathing supplies, so I contacted the B&B to send a set. They replied that the toiletries we were equipped with were more expensive, so they only gave us one set. They said that if we needed more, we could only get toiletries of another brand. I suddenly felt uncomfortable. The accommodation fee was more than 1,000 yuan a night, and I didn’t know how expensive this set of toiletries was? Four small bottles of Evian water were provided, and we didn't feel comfortable asking for more after we finished them. What I want to say is that your service concept and the fees you charge don't match, because I have stayed in countless hotels, and this is the first time I have encountered such a thing. Secondly, the breakfast is very simple. Among the four side dishes, only the pickled vegetables were bought and the only one that was freshly made was the fried tofu. GGuest UserA very satisfying stay! The room is large, with simple decoration style, complete facilities, and a clean and tidy environment. I chose the second floor to see the distant scenery, which is great! The surrounding area is quiet and not far from various attractions.
The boss is very considerate and helped arrange carpooling, pick us up at the entrance of the scenic spot, and also provided a tour route. I will stay here again next time I come to play~

The hotel, nestled at the foot of Huangshan Mountain, features elegantly designed Huizhou-style architecture that seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape. Every photo taken looks like an ink wash painting.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the scenic balcony offered breathtaking views of the undulating mountains in the distance, often shrouded in mist. As the first rays of morning sun streamed in, my mind and body felt instantly soothed. The soft bedding and aromatherapy ensured a perfect night's sleep.
Felix's service, in particular, was impeccable. From his attentive guidance during check-in at the front desk to his prompt responses after we had settled in, he was both warm and professional.
