"Silversand resort is a safe bet when staying in Koh Samet. Ideal location on one of the most beautiful beach, silver beach, the property offer clean and nice rooms with beautiful sea or garden view. No swimming pool but acceptable since being 1 min away from the beach with a dedicated hotel area. Very good breakfast with great choice. Highly recommended property!"

"I lived on the island for a few days. A few days ago, I was in other hotels by the beach. The humidity and darkness are very uncomfortable. Because it is convenient to take a boat the next day, I changed to this hotel near the dock and the main street on the last day. Its decoration style is simple and clean. The bedding is soft. There is a bad place. The seal is not very good. Someone in the next room is smoking on the balcony. The smell is uncomfortable. I also heard the next door quarreling. The soundproofing of the room is not good. Try to keep your voice as low as possible. Maybe I will choose to live in this area next time. It seems to be a relatively balanced choice on Samet Island."

"I was very pleased with my stay! The hotel is located directly on a soft white sand beach, with breathtaking views of the azure sea and blue sky. We stayed in a deluxe sea view room with an unparalleled balcony view, and watching the sunset in the evening was a true delight. The staff was incredibly attentive, making us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. The breakfast was hearty, especially the freshly prepared local specialties, which were incredibly authentic. The hotel's infinity pool was a real highlight, perfect for photo ops. The only downside was that during peak season, the poolside area can be a bit noisy. Overall, however, the experience was fantastic and definitely worth the money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and I'll definitely be back!"

"Avatara Resort, Koh Samed: A Family-Friendly Beach Getaway Rating: 4/5 stars Koh Samed perfectly captures that quintessential island tourist vibe, and Avatara Resort delivers a solid family-friendly beach experience right in the heart of it all. Location & Beach Access The resort's prime beachfront location is undoubtedly its strongest asset. Situated directly by a beautiful stretch of shallow, crystal-blue waters, it offers safe and perfect conditions for family sea bathing. The convenience factor is excellent – you're just a two-minute walk from the famous Sai Kaew Beach, the iconic Mermaid Monument, and the bustling Silversand Resort area. Accommodation & Ambience While the resort building itself shows its age, the refurbished rooms create a lovely ambience with beautiful lighting that transforms the older structure into something quite charming. We stayed on the third floor, which offered peaceful mountain views overlooking the national park forest rather than beach views. The setting is genuinely calm and quiet – exactly what we wanted for a family retreat. Important consideration: There's no elevator, so reaching upper floors requires quite a climb. As we joked, shuttling between the room and outside areas four times daily provides a workout in itself! This makes the resort unsuitable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. Dining Experience The breakfast experience is delightful, served in a beachside restaurant where you can enjoy your meal with sand between your toes. The selection impresses with a good range of both Western and Thai options, including fresh fruits. The resort's beach restaurant serves quality food with excellent value for money – we tried multiple dishes and enjoyed them all. However, there's no room service, and the restaurant closes early (around 9:30-10 PM). When late-night cravings struck, we found the nearby 7-Eleven (just 5-6 minutes' walk) convenient for snacks. Room Amenities & Issues Room amenities are adequate though not luxurious. The shower area is well-designed with a spacious dressing area. However, we encountered an unpleasant odor from the bathroom drainage system that required some management during our stay. Activities & Surroundings For water activities like parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skiing, you'll need to walk to Sai Kaew Beach to find service providers – fortunately, we found excellent options there. Final Verdict Avatara Resort succeeds as a family-friendly destination that balances beachfront access, peaceful ambience, and reasonable pricing. While it has some limitations (no elevator, early restaurant closure, minor maintenance issues), the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. Recommended for: Families seeking a calm beach getaway who don't mind some stairs and prefer a quieter resort atmosphere. Consider alternatives if: You need elevator access, late-night dining options, or luxury amenities."

"Our Favorite Island Escape! This was our fifth stay at Vangduen Hotel, and we already can’t wait to come back! It’s the kind of place that never disappoints. In fact, the only sad part is packing up to leave. The location is perfect—tucked away on the quiet side of the island, offering so much peace and natural beauty. The clear, calm water and the soft white sand (honestly, it feels like flour!) make it the perfect spot to relax. Even though it’s peaceful, there’s still plenty to do. There’s a great selection of restaurants, a small shop for anything you might need, and a fun fire show in the evenings. The hotel itself is spotless, well-equipped, and super comfortable. The staff are amazing—so friendly and always happy to help with anything you need. It’s those little things that make each stay so special. We’d recommend this place 100%. In fact, we’ve already booked our next trip in two weeks! Vangduen Hotel really is a gem, and we feel lucky to have found it."

"Great little villa right on the beach. Listen to the waves all night. Walking distance to minimart and some restaurants. Do need a bike to get around the island. Only bad thing would be the walls are a little thin so can hear some noise from villa next to you , like when they close the toilet door etc.  had a great 2 night stay"

"The hotel is new, all the bath accessories are there, no need to bring a bunch of bubbles with you. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, brushes, pastes, cotton swabs. Clean, nice, hot water! Clean bed linen, towels! Comfortable pillows) complimentary upon arrival - chips, hot chocolate) Breakfast is decent - and coffee and juice and water will be brought to you, and food similar to English breakfast. You will be given a voucher for sun loungers! The location is ideal - the center of all the action, but at the same time quiet and calm at night, you can't hear the music. The only thing that slightly spoiled the impression is the employee who receives guests. We had to leave the island at 16:30, came to extend until 16:00 hotel, translated our request with the help of a translator with sound, since for some reason she could not just read from the screen what was written there in Thai. In general, as it turned out, she nodded to us that we could stay until 4 pm, agreed and announced the surcharge, but in the end we still paid 3 times more than what was announced, since in fact, when checking out, she told us that we misunderstood her) The surcharge for every half hour of room extension is 200 baht. Be prepared that the receptionist simply will not understand you, the dialogue will be difficult. Neither Russian nor English, only Thai with voice acting. Translation difficulties, costs)) But despite this pun with the check-out, we really liked everything and recommend the hotel. By the way, we did not have any neighbors, we were alone, no one made noise, everything is just perfect!"

"The location is excellent — right by a beautiful and peaceful beach with soft, clean white sand. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always smiling and helpful. The room was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. There were quite a lot of mosquitoes, but the hotel provided mosquito repellent mats in the room, which was a thoughtful touch. As for breakfast, the day I stayed there were quite a lot of guests, so the food ran out quickly and was not replenished in time. If the breakfast service could be improved during peak times, the overall experience would be even better."

DDerek NormanThe stars of this hotel are the staff particularly the manager, Act, who could not be more helpful. She made everything about my stay easy and stress free. The hotel itself is just across the quiet island road from the beach. Here there is white sand and crystal clear water. To the left is the busier section with all the normal beach activities together with bars and restaurants. It is just a 15 min walk into town this way. To the right the beach is quieter. If you continue along the beach to the right you can follow the coast path which ‘hops’ from bay to bay making for a pleasant walk. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. You are supplied with everything you need including snacks, beach bag, wet bag, beach towel and beach mat. I had a wonderful stay at Green Bay and thoroughly recommend it.

AAnonymous UserNewly renovated rooms; comfortable & cleaned. Beautiful private peaceful beach. All the hotel staff that we had contacted did excellent jobs. Enjoyed live music & a fire show in the evening. We gave 200 THB to the fire show men. Frankly speaking, their fire show skills are much better than Hawaii. (Except, no hip dance) It would be nice if the other hotel guests would have given them some tips, too. Everything was good, except the music at the restaurant by the beach was a bit too loud. I will return to stay at this hotel again if I go to Samed next time.

TTeeks I stayed at a quiet mini resort, which was great for peace and quiet. The best part was the chocolate cabin in the woods behind it. The infinity pool was mostly quiet and the rooms were cleaned well, which was important to me as someone with OCD. Despite being on the ground level with a sea view, I didn't encounter any bugs or ants inside. The staff was decent, but not overly welcoming or friendly. Jik, who worked at the reception, was helpful and booked reservations for us at restaurants and other Samed group resorts. However, the resort was a bit far (15-minute drive) from everything else, making it quite a ride by motorbike or taxi. The distance felt longer when traveling around the island. My least favourite thing was the breakfast restaurant. The Japanese style seating, while great for lunches or dinners, became annoying after a day or two, especially during breakfast when I needed to get up several times and bruised myself getting up. The restaurant also had an ant problem, which made me feel very uneasy and ruined my enjoyment of breakfast. I wished we hadn't included breakfast at the hotel. I felt that the same hygiene methods used for the rooms should be applied to the restaurant to prevent the ant issue.

GGuest UserAn excellent hotel with excellent service on the most beautiful beach of the island. Regardless of the chosen accommodation option, you will have the opportunity to enjoy nature and relaxation in exceptionally comfortable conditions, and the hotel staff will sincerely do everything possible for this, starting from meeting you in your own station area before transferring to the island. The organization of the hotel is at its best. Cleanliness, comfort, quality of bedding, friendliness and responsiveness of the staff, security, attitude towards guests, breakfasts, a restaurant for lunch and dinner overlooking the beach, a bar with drinks, two different beaches, a large territory - everything is equipped and done so that guests do not want to leave the hotel throughout their stay. In my opinion, the hotels of the Samedresorts chain and in this case Sai Kaew Beach Resort are one of the best pages of our frequent vacation in Thailand. This time, our large group of friends with children and parents (23 people), vacationing in Pattaya, rented 8 or 9 separate deluxe cottages in this hotel for three nights. Despite the different ages of the vacationers (the youngest tourist was 2 years old), everyone had the kindest and most positive memories and impressions of the trip. Once again, many thanks to the management and the entire large team of the hotel for the warmth and truly heartfelt welcome. It was a complete Sabai. Special thanks to Mr. Lek, now our friend Lek, for his daily attention, kindness, care and those feelings that brought tears to our eyes upon departure. We hope that our separation will be short-lived, we are looking forward to our next vacation. On behalf of our entire friendly company, Aleksei B.

GGuest UserI have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future.

MMarko Lauri ArnoldBooked Deluxe Grand Executive room for 131e/night for two people for four nights. COULD NOT GET TWO KEY CARDS FOR THE ROOM, RECEPTIONIST REFUSED THE REQUEST FOR SECOND 20 cent PLASTIC KEY!?!?!? NOT NORMAL SERVICE AND NOT PRACTICAL FOR TWO PEOPLE!!! ALSO THE BUILDING HAS NO ELEVATOR!!! Had to climb to third floor with luggages as bell boy was somewhere....also the actual room is in two levels i.e.: entrance and toilet downstairs, bedroom and living room upstairs. Outside balcony shower and bath tub had no privacy as shower is visible to the courtyard. Stayed 4 nights and 2 days water and electricity interruptions. Beach bar Happy Hour doesnt work traditional way: Ordered Kamikaze and Strawberry Margarita and tacos. Drank the first Buy 1 get 1 Free and ate the tacos. Waited for the second drinks for a while but then waitress brings us bill without asking it. Happy Hour had ended and we didnt get our second drinks but got invoiced for only one THB350 cocktail and tacos, so be aware of the Grand View Happy Hour practices and dont miss the ordering window like we did. 🤭 Daily issues with the restaurant card machine, cant pay with a CC. Clean and modern room, but poor service and not practical room with two levels and stairs.

OOxanaOverall, a great hotel with a fantastic beach, delicious food at the restaurant, and clean bedding. Of course, it's a bit far from the center where you'd find convenience stores like 7-Eleven, which means prices at nearby shops are quite steep. However, you can always bring some essentials with you.

MMarinaThe hotel is conveniently located, but tuk-tuks do not bring you to it, you have to walk through the courtyards from the bus stop, the first time we thought we would not find it, then we got used to it when you know the way. The location is convenient, on the 1st line, but perpendicular to the sea, so the windows overlook the backyard and the restaurant toilet. Apparently, during the low season, the restaurant staff got used to sitting there, talking, playing with the children, it was difficult to relax during the day, there was constant noise outside the window. Even when we asked them to be quieter, after some time they gathered there again and talked endlessly loudly, watched videos, played games. Then they moved to the area in front of the reception, but they talked so loudly that the noise still interfered with rest. At the same time, you will not find employees in the restaurant when you need to order food or pay, they are all relaxing there for their own pleasure. The hotel has its own sun loungers on the beach, but the restaurant staff tried to kick us out from there on the first day and insisted that we should order something in the restaurant, this spoiled the impression, of course. It is strange that the hotel has a restaurant, but no breakfast, it would be more convenient with breakfast. At 9 am, large groups of Chinese tourists are brought to the restaurant, in principle, as in other neighboring restaurants on the first line. The room is not bad, but old, the bed is comfortable, the TV only has Thai channels. The toilet in the bathroom is leaking, the faucet, apparently the same is on the floor above, because water was dripping from the ceiling and there is mold on the ceiling, and in the toilet itself there is no ventilation and a terrible smell of mold. There is no toilet paper, in front of the entrance to the toilet there is a holder with thin napkins, which is very inconvenient. We lived on the 1st floor, since among us there were people with disabilities, in front of the room there is a table and two chairs, but sitting in front of the restaurant toilet is not at all pleasant. Also, the employees in this place eat their own food and sometimes the smells are very unpleasant. The hotel is for very unpretentious visitors, but the sea is wonderful and two steps from the beach. On the main street there are many restaurants, massages, two 7-11, currency exchange. It's a couple of minutes' drive from the ferry.
