Ever since watching 'Big Fish & Begonia', I've dreamt of staying in a Tulou. On this trip to Yunshuiyao, I was lucky enough to find a Tulou right within the scenic area to stay in. The owner was incredibly warm and hospitable, even helping us film some videos. Our room was spotless and quiet. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and the Yunshuiyao scenic area is just a few hundred meters away. You can also enjoy beautiful night views in the evening. Highly recommended!

Besides the atmosphere, the staff was excellent. We chatted a lot about the history of the tulou and yunshuiyao. The room was clean and even has bidet toilet.

Great place to stay. Authentic Tulou. The lady who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpfull. She also told us some intersting things about the Tulou and let us taste her homegrown tea. The rooms are basic but nice. The hotel is within a Tulou 'themepark'/touristtrap for which it is required to pay 90 rmb per person to get in and in order to reach the hotel. The ticket office for foreigners is about 2-3 km away.

On our drive back to Beijing from Sanya, we were enjoying the journey when our child suggested seeing a Tulou. We made a spontaneous decision to visit this place. The owner was incredibly friendly, and we learned so much chatting with them. This Tulou is over a century old. The bed linen was spotless. The historic Tulou building itself is the undisputed star here; everything else pales in comparison. You simply *have* to stay overnight to truly soak in the atmosphere. This quaint and charming Tulou guesthouse has an incredibly warm and welcoming hostess. We checked in on ***** New Year's Eve and were lucky enough to experience a live broadcast of the local New Year's Eve dinner. The hostess upgraded our room and even kindly gave us some local eggs and steamed buns to eat – what a lovely surprise! We checked out on New Year's Day morning, and she even offered us noodles before we left, but unfortunately, we had to rush for our transport and couldn't stay. This heritage Tulou building is absolutely worth experiencing. The owner was incredibly thoughtful, proactively offering heating as she was concerned we might be cold. Among the many guesthouses in Yunshuiyao, this one offers a truly authentic *tulou* (earthen building) experience. The entire *tulou* is beautifully decorated with lanterns, creating a wonderful atmosphere. It's very quiet and perfect for photos, much better than jostling with crowds at the tourist spots.
