"Beyond the official Tulou attractions, the proprietress also took us to a private spot (Pic 3). It was a lovely place where adults could enjoy tea and conversation, while children could play in the water and even try catching fish. It was absolutely wonderful! It truly felt like an escape to a secluded paradise – incredibly quiet, and there wasn't even any phone signal. A perfect opportunity to completely relax and unwind. Pictures 1 and 2 showcase the collection of old furniture and farming tools the proprietress has curated on the guesthouse's rooftop. It's a very thoughtful touch, and city kids found them particularly fascinating."

"The staff at this guesthouse were all incredibly warm and welcoming, which made for a great experience. Both dinner and breakfast were homemade here and tasted delicious. It was lovely to take a refreshing 50-minute walk in the cool morning air.
Just a short walk over a small bridge, the adjacent village features several traditional Hakka fortified houses. The oldest of these structures date back 800 years, while the most recent began construction in 1964.
The surrounding fields are beautiful, filled with rice paddies, lotus flowers, and passion fruit. Breathing in the fresh morning air from the fields was truly invigorating.
One minor suggestion: we couldn't locate the switch for the bathroom exhaust fan during our entire stay, even after trying all the available switches. I'm sure there's one, but clearer labeling would be very helpful."

"I would like to thank all staffs for making our 2 nights stay so comfortable and amazing. They are all very helpful and their services are really wonderful. The place is very neat and clean.
I brought my 16 months old girl to the retreat. They have specifically prepared her dinner based on my requirement and I must say that their food are really very delicious.
Highly recommend for this retreat! Will definitely come back to this place again when I am here again."

"The hotel is in a great location, just opposite the waterwheel and next to the Yunshui Yao stone tablet. It is very suitable for taking photos in the morning and evening when there are few tourists. The boss provides very good service. It is a cost-effective B&B and is worth recommending to everyone!"

"The accommodation feels good, the room is hygienic and clean, the layout is simple and elegant. I especially like the beautiful scenery that can be seen through the two large glass windows. The boss is an enthusiastic person, and the dishes he cooks are delicious, especially the steamed light fish, which is delicious. One thing to note is that the bath water is an electric water heater, and the stored hot water is only enough for one person. The next person has to wait for the water to be boiled before washing. "I saw on Xiaohongshu that Guoguo's mom recommended this hotel. I ate at the hotel on my first night, and the food was okay. As long as you don't have too high expectations, it's acceptable. After all, the conditions in the village are definitely not as good as in cities like Xiamen. The service was almost non-existent, but they were at least polite to people. The hygiene was quite clean, but the mosquitoes there were really terrible. I didn't see any mosquitoes, but I saw huge welts on my hands and legs."

"The girl at the front desk was very warm and thoughtful, and she would help us solve the problem in time if there were questions and answers, and give her a thumbs up 👍.
The hotel's hardware facilities are almost, the USB charging interface is not available, the sink drain connection is not closed, and the hand water comes out, making the sewage overflow, and the shower room is very inconvenient without putting things.
The decoration of the hotel is not much for a long time. The key is management. There are a lot of dirt on the tiles on the bathroom wall. I can wipe it clean with wet paper towels. No one pays attention to this. So the key is whether the management staff really pays attention to it.

"The weather was perfect when I went there, and I could see beautiful scenery from the room. The location and hardware facilities of the B&B are good, and the service is also very good. The room was very clean, the viewing platform was first-class, and it was a very distinctive homestay. The quietness at night made you feel very comfortable. When you go out, you will reach Tasha Village, a very distinctive village.

The couple is very friendly and helpful and easy going.
After confirmed booking, the owner immediately contacted me to understand better on our needs.
The owner even upgraded our rooms to a much bigger room at no extra charge.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable & clean.
We had our dinner at the inn. The wife is a good cook. The food is nice at a reasonable price.
We also had our breakfast here. They charge a very budget price, only rmb10 per pax for the breakfast.
We feel at home when staying here & the stay is really comfortable.
Wil choose to stay here again.

JJianiniOn our drive back to Beijing from Sanya, we were enjoying the journey when our child suggested seeing a Tulou. We made a spontaneous decision to visit this place. The owner was incredibly friendly, and we learned so much chatting with them. This Tulou is over a century old. Initially, I noticed the windows had no glass and thought it was just for ventilation, only to discover they actually had a clever little mechanism! Haha.

VVythicaWe stayed in Floral Luxury.1949 Guesthouse for 1 night. We booked Mufan room located on the ground floor as i am travelling with my elderly mom and carrying heavy luggage bags.
The guesthouse butler will contact you the night before your arrival to add them to Wechat for easy communication. They will share their hotel location and offer pick-up service at the train station if required.
Access to Yunshuiyao town is RMB90 perpax and free for those aged above 65 years old. Yunshuiyao is a scenic town area with 3 km long (2 - 3 hours walk). We hired a chinese speaking guide to accompany us to explain the history of Huaiyan building (square tulou), Hegui building (round tulou), and the town area. It cost RMB100.
The guesthouse is located inside Yunshuiyao town, behind the shop houses, in-between waterwheel and 2 trees (named as husband and wife) aged above 670 years old.
When we reached there at 2.30 pm, it was raining. The hotel staff immediately came out with an umbrella to pick us up and assist with the luggage.
The check-in is fast, and the access to the room is by password, which they will share in Wechat. Checkout is also very easy.
The hotel offered free fruits twice a day, afternoon and evening.
The basic bathroom essentials are complete, and they also provide bathrobes. The bed and pillows are very comfortable for a good night sleep. Luckily the aircond can change to warm mode as it was very cold on raining day.
There's a mini kids playground for children's. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast set come with porridge and soya drink. Can topup if needed more. The in-house restaurant provides lunch & dinner with a la carte chinese foods menu.
The sky brightens at 5 am, while the sun rises high at 6.45am. If you are able to wake up early, this is the best time for you to revisit the town and tulou surrounding area for nice photos and cool breeze as only local people around. There's a roadside stall selling super long youtiao (equal to size of 2 youtiao) located near the stone bridge not far from guesthouse.
The whole Yunshuiyao town is covered with natural peebles pathway. Wear suitable shoes as it will be very slippery during the rainy day.

GGuest UserStaying at ”Nanjing Tulou Yunlai Mountain Villa”, the beautiful boss was very enthusiastic, and also upgraded the room, and told us the best route to visit the attractions. What made me feel the deepest was the boss's enthusiasm. Although breakfast, lunch and dinner are home-cooked dishes, they taste very good, and the ingredients are all green foods. The most commendable thing is that I do not slaughter guests. In addition, the villa is the closest to the four dishes and one soup attraction, and it is also the highest mountain view. It is very convenient to take night views at night. The most important thing is that it is especially convenient for self-driving parking. There are plenty of free parking spaces. GGuest UserWhat an amazing experience to live in the “chopsticks” buildings of the four dishes and one soup! This was a small and beautiful village and the family who ran the inn helped us carry our luggage up to the inn and later down to the inn. When we arrived they cooked a dinner which was reasonable in price based on a local menu. And then during dinner, they told us that one of the family members will be running a free tour of the Tulous of four dishes one soup for us in which they explained the history of the building of the tulous, especially the oval shaped tulou. Our guide was very funny with his stories (he spoke in Chinese) and it was a lovely time seeing the artists and candy makers in the Tulous. I would highly recommend this place. We did have to bring our own towels (or at least we brought our own and they didn’t supply one), so maybe best to check.

GGuest UserThe room was very clean and comfortable to live in. The lady boss was very nice. Since we couldn't rent a car, she helped us contact a chartered car driver! By the way, Mr. Zhang, the chartered car owner, is very nice and enthusiastic, explaining the whole process! The location of the B&B is very good. It is in the center of Tasha Village, opposite the hotel. It is very convenient. There are relatively fewer people here, so it is more leisurely and comfortable to live here! The experience was very good. I also tasted the wine brewed by the owner in the tavern downstairs. I will come again if I have the chance and stay a few more days.

The decoration is in a nostalgic campus style, but the hardware facilities are not outdated. You can see the subtle care that the owner put into the room design. There will be several modes of room lighting to suit various needs. The wet and dry partitions in the bathroom are relatively reasonable, and the sewers are smooth and do not accumulate water. The water heater has a large capacity, so you can take a comfortable bath without any problem. It has its own parking lot and is very convenient for self-driving. The location of the B&B is very close to the viewing platform of Four Dishes and One Soup, which has the advantage of seeing the lights and entering the village at night. The landlady usually drinks tea in the front hall. When you pass by and she is free, she will invite you to drink tea and chat with her. The boss will tell you about travel strategies when he has free time, and even take you for a walk in person.

Regarding the accommodations, it's important to remember this is a mountain setting, and with the recent rainy season, facilities are understandably modest. However, the pricing reflects this context and provides an authentic, rustic experience that urban hotels simply can't offer.
Above all, the food here is absolutely scrumptious! Dining in is a must to savor their delicious Hakka-style cuisine.
My biggest takeaway is the owner's genuine warmth and the wonderfully relaxing mountain environment, offering a perfect, temporary escape from the city's ceaseless clamor.
