Front desk was efficient and gave great local tips, specially Ms Monica, Restaurant staff served with a smile and remembered our preferences. Housekeeping was prompt and the rooms were spotless daily. Rooms are spacious with heaters, 24/7 hot water, and cozy beds – ideal for Ooty weather. Food was fresh and delicious, with excellent South Indian breakfast and multi-cuisine dinner options. Quiet location away from the market crowds, yet only a short drive to main attractions. Big thanks to the entire Fortune Ooty team for the hospitality. It felt like home. Highly recommend for families and couples. We’ll definitely be back."

"Had a very peaceful stay in Ayatana Ooty. The property is excellent and the rooms are very well done - the balcony, views, jacuzzi and the mountain air around was just perfect. It is at a very good location and was just the unwinding experience needed. Courteous staff in the property and smooth reservation experience, where Mohammed Mateen was v helpful with hiccups also. One point which needs improvement is food - variety wise in buffet as well as menu options expansion, which they said was temporary. Also few things from the limited menu were not available. Rest no improvement points, definitely a must stay"

"This is like a homestay without food! The room was spacious and comfortable but no heater was available. We had stayed at the premium deluxe room but no good hospitality was received in terms of frequent checking on things like beverages or if we need anything else from them. It was non-professional! Also there is no arrangement of food on this property. There is a attached restaurant called Madras Rasoi which serves decent food but they are serving only on limited time slots. When you book a hotel you expect to get better treatment but unfortunately there is no such scope. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who is fond of hotels. This is ideal for people who are mostly sightseeing and doesn't expect much in terms of hospitality from the hotel! Thanks."

Everyday breakfast same food idly, semiya upma and white chutney and dal. No verities of food. Food Taste is very bad not even feel like to eat but no option. Not spicy or coconut in every thing. Bad experience in food. No vegetables"

"Please believe the bad reviews, we have regretted not believing them and booked this property at a crucial time and lost a lot of money. It's run by an elusive owner, very unpleasant and disrespectful about the guests. The property is managed by Amit, again, an extremely irresponsible, inexperienced person. It was our wedding in December, 2023. We booked the entire property for two nights, several months in advance. They knew we were booking it for our families to be in one place, and they also knew it was our wedding. We made the mistake of paying the entire amount in advance. We had no idea that the owners run these quack businesses to cheat people. We reached two days before the wedding day, and they decided to renovate, the entire front porch was broken and being redone. I didn't know what to do, we were two days away from our wedding and urgently needed an alternative. The rooms were smelling of mould and there was mould all over, under the bed, in the bathroom, literally in every room. It was impossible that our families of senior citizens could stay there. The shocking part was the downstairs rooms were smelling of pee and alcohol and I have no words to describe how dirty and unhygienic it was. Ooty has plenty of budget heritage properties and it's difficult to maintain them, we go to Ooty every year multiple times. And, we never stayed at the Red House because of the bad reviews. And, I still can't remember why we made such a bad decision of booking this place, but the mistake was made. We had to paid a huge amount and book a different place for our family last minute. I told Amit to cancel 3 rooms out of 6, and our vendors were accomodated there. Infact even our vendors had to be moved out the second night due to construction dust, unclean drinking water, mould and dirty linen. When we asked for refund (at least of the three rooms we cancelled), Amit agreed, because he knew exactly what he had done. He had so many months to prepare for our arrival, and they did nothing. But, the owners were so cheap, probably they don't have their own money and live off by cheating people, even their neighborhood residents spoke of the owners so badly, that they were very cheap and miserly. And clearly that was the case. I decided to file an FIR, money lost is one thing, but money lost in fraud is different. They decided to return a measly amount, and my husband just wanted the ordeal to end. So I let it go. I won't recommend this place but if you must stay here, you should know the truth and hopefully they learn their lesson through other guests. Lots of excellent properties like Smyrna, Lymond house, manor house etc, where they treat guests as humans, not as dumb tourists to fill their pockets."

The room was spacious, cozy, and perfectly maintained. The beautifully landscaped Sherlock gardens were a delight to explore, especially with family. Every corner of the property is picture-perfect and surrounded by nature. The food deserves special mention. The breakfast spread was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options that catered to everyone. We genuinely looked forward to breakfast each morning! The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel at home throughout our stay."

"Amazing staff, breathtaking views, delicious food, and a wonderful ambience. The property offers complete seclusion from Ooty’s usual noise and bustle. The staff’s attention to detail is unparalleled, and the chef is incredibly warm and accommodating. Meals can be customised to suit almost any preference or dietary request. A few things to keep in mind: the property is secluded and located about 2 km uphill from the main road. If you do not have your own car, you will need to rely on the staff for anything required from town. They are always willing to help, although requests may not be fulfilled within a specific timeframe. The TV has local channels but is not connected to the internet. The windows do not have insect screens, so opening them for fresh air may let insects inside. There is no fixed laundry tariff, but the housekeeping staff can arrange it, and you can pay them directly. None of these points significantly affected my experience. As a solo traveller, I found this to be a peaceful and memorable stay. If you are looking for privacy, tranquillity, beautiful views, and a place that feels entirely your own, this is an absolute must-stay. Rating: 9.5/10"
