GGuest UserAs a heads-up, I have a Japanese driver's license and speak basic Japanese. I booked this hotel specifically for kayaking.
About transportation: Since I was only going kayaking, I didn't rent a car in advance. I took a taxi directly to the hotel after disembarking. The distance from the port to the hotel is less than 12 kilometers, and the one-way fare is under 5,000 yen (starting at 780 yen). (Renting a car would cost about two days, which would definitely be more than the taxi cost.)
About accommodation: We stayed in a cabin, which was clean and quiet. We had futons (sleep on the floor). (If you've seen Conan, imagine a cabin in the countryside where many people share a holiday cabin.) The shower was also very comfortable, but I highly recommend it if you absolutely must sleep on a bed.
About meals: Our room included a BBQ dinner. The food was fresh, and we cooked it ourselves. It was truly fun. Other things to know: The main road lacks streetlights, so you'll need a flashlight at night (there are flashlights inside the cabins). There's a wide variety of insects (I saw rhinoceros beetles, beautiful butterflies larger than my hand, geckos, and a variety of other insects). If you didn't order breakfast, please bring your own breakfast and snacks! There's only one vending machine nearby (for drinks).
My objective opinion: It's quite interesting, but not ideal for a Chinese family of three.
