"This hotel would be perfect if it had air con. It is clean and comfortable; the bar and restaurant are good and there is plenty of parking. The location is excellent. We stayed during hot weather and there was no air con or even a fan in the room. We left the windows open at night but the noise from the smokers gathered below, then the delivery lorries and bin collections meant we barely slept. We are happy to stay there again but only if the weather is cooler."

Faenol Fawr Hotel ★★★

📍 Bodelwyddan, St. Asaph, Rhyl

"Although the exterior of the building and its restaurant are stunning, the room doesn't match the aura of a 16th-century manor house. The velvet headboard of our bed is dusty, there is no provision for room slippers, and no side table lamps beside the bed (there are hanging lamps on each side of the bed but the switch is on the wall behind the door, you'll need to get up to turn on/off). Also, there's no night light for those who can't sleep without a little light. But since we only stayed there for one night, it's all fine for us. The receptionist is very kind and always cheerful. We had a good typical English buffet breakfast. If you don't have a car and want to see the village, you'll have to walk to the hospital's bus stop, which is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and wait for a bus at a one-hour interval (at least on Sundays). Rhuddlan is a lovely, quaint village with pleasant and kind people. Aldi, Starbucks, McDonald's and local pubs and cafes are available so you won't worry about basic stuff. I just wish our room reflects the mystery and beauty of a 16th-century manor house. Maybe, we'll stay there again if ever we go back to Rhuddlan."

Premier Inn Rhuddlan ★★★
"Stayed from June 8 to the 12th room 27. Everything about the hotel from the excellent staff to the cleanliness and comfort of the room was excellent. The only let down was the restaurant, breakfast was good although the black pudding wasn't cooked one day it was cremated. In the evening service was slow. Our meal was booked for 6:30 each night on average it was two hrs before we had finished our meal. For some reason the restaurant only has 3 stars for its inspection."

"Great location right on the beach. Very warm welcome at check in from Neil on the reception desk. Spacious family room. Very clean. Modern bathroom with toiletries and plenty of fresh towels. Issues with shower but discussed this with staff on departure. All in all a great base to visit the area."

"It's located near the railway station. It takes just 5minutes. It was very helpful for us to travel Northern Wales by train. Overall, I appreciate this hotel, but the drawback is that we can't leave our luggage when we arrive earlier check-in time."
