"Reading previous reviews, I was a bit worried it would be very old. In reality, Japan's overall hygiene standards are quite high. We stayed in two Japanese-style rooms, and objectively speaking, this hotel isn't luxurious, but it has everything you need and the details are good. The downside is inconvenient transportation; it's actually very close to Otaru, but only accessible by bus and the hotel shuttle (my problem that I can't afford a taxi). If you can only eat at the hotel, the prices aren't expensive and the food is good, but it's a bit monotonous; every night there are just four set menus that need to be reserved in advance. The 10-tatami mat room is very spacious and comfortable for two or three people. The hot spring is nice and very relaxing. Breakfast isn't extensive but it's delicious. It's very close to the ski resort, a 5-minute walk. Also, a shout-out to Ms. Han at the front desk, who is Chinese, which made communication easy and smooth! In short, if you're skiing or can drive, it's very suitable! If you want to explore Otaru city, it's not recommended."
