"The hotel interior is looking rather tired, the corridors are stark and our room while spacious was unattractive. The bathroom was cramped and poorly designed. It was clean and tidy and the staff do the best they can with difficult facilities and surroundings."

"The hotel I was originally booked in had a flood so at the last minute I had to find another one, I found Arkale lodge and it didn’t disappoint, the rooms are pretty basic, but extremely clean which in my book is more important than a fancy room. And certainly good enough for the price I paid, the gentleman that showed me around was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was from 7 which was perfect for my continuation of my Hadrians wall walk.
The Breakfast was included in the room price and was exceptional (full English, which I easily adapted as a non meat eater)
It was plentiful, delicious and freshly made. And a great start to my long tiring day

"The staff were very friendly, room & beds were clean but a little sp**** & needing some renovation. The breakfast was lovely, plentiful & made to order, choice of cereal, toast, cooked breakfast, tea & coffee. The only downside was the boom booming of the music from the bar going on to the early hours."

"Cannot fault the ibis at all , perfect location for all the bars & 5 mins walk from train station. Breakfast is excellent & rooms are spotless, the staff are excellent to as nothing is a problem."

"Stayed here with daughter for the start of the Cumbria Way walk. Arrived by train and it's literally right outside the train station entrance.top marks for location
Twin room. Large bathroom with bath. Some may say room is dated. For price excellent .
Weatherspoons for food around the corner - less than a 10 mi s walk
Friendly staff filled our water bottles before we set off for our walk.
All in all met all our requirements.
Also for information it's dog friendly too.
