The Samson Hotel is located in the very centre of Peterhof town, world-famous for it palace, fountain and park ensemble, opposite the Upper Park entrance. The hotel was opened at May 15, 1839 with the permission of the Emperor Nicholas I. An important guest of the hotel was the legendary ballerina MF Kshesinskaya, performing lead roles in ballet performances at Olgin island.The restaurant of the hotel was especially popular - even Alexander Dumas praised its cuisine in his memoirs. One of the wide-known Russian writers Leo Tolstoy visited the place.The hotel worked till 1928, when it was destroyed by a fire. In 2008, almost a century later, the Samson Hotel was reconstituted on surviving drawings and plans.The hotel offers accommodation in 59 rooms designed in European style.
