Park Hotel Shanghai Reviews

It was my first stay at Park hotel Shanghai. The concierge staff came to help bring my luggage to the reception as soon as he saw me moving towards the hotel. The only issue is that due to the narrow road and location of the hotel, the cars may not be able to stop right at the entrance but this issue cannot really be fixed. Just something for travelers with luggage to keep in mind and remind the driver to stop as nearby as possible. The lady who checked in for me arranged a great room on a high floor. My suite was absolutely beautiful and although this is an old historical property, the maintenance is very good and the room was well renovated. I had a perfect view of People’s Square park and enjoyed looking out the window. The bed was absolutely one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept at and even equipped with massage and heating functions which was so great that I really didn’t wanna get out of bed. I didn’t have much time during my stay but I saw that they’ve have a small museum regarding the history of the hotel on the second floor. I will definitely return and arrange more time to have a look at the second floor and get a drink in the lobby. Many thanks for an excellent stay.

The hotel is conveniently located to metro and near Nanjing Road Shopping Street.

This historic hotel is a great hotel for tourists. It is very close to the subway/metro, so it is easy to get here from the airport. It is centrally located, so you can walk to many tourist attractions. It is on a busy road, so I felt very safe walking on this road in the evening. There are lots of delicious restaurants around the hotel. This hotel has so much history, it is fun to imagine all the important historic figures that have walked through these doors. Even though this is an old hotel, the facilities are in great condition. I was very comfortable staying here as a single traveler. When I had questions, I could call the front desk and they addressed my request immediately. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location with easy access to Nanjing Road and Huanghe Road, best known for shops and restaurants. Friendly staff and good service.

The location is very close to Nanjing Road-walking street, only about 200 yards. It is next to the People’s Square. It is less than 200 yards to the subway station. People are friendly. I chose the rate that incudes breakfast. The breakfast has many options for western people. The hotel needs a renovation. The carpet in my room is dirty or worn out. The caulk around the bath tub has molds. I would not choose the hotel again if it stays as it is.

Location is great being close to People's Park and Subway Line 2. It now become the first stop when we make a trip to China.

Location, location, location. Close to everything, like… EVERYTHING. I don’t think you can get a better location than this one in Shanghai. About hotel: this feels premium, it’s old, you can feel the history in this place, it’s actually an iconic place in Shanghai. Room: when I entered in the room my first thought was “Nixon was here”, you’re just feeling like in a premium hotel from ‘70s. But there is also a big LCD, and the toilet is next gen, with leds and everything, opens itself when close by and so on. Breakfast: has pretty much everything, asian and continental. Shanghai was my last place in China and after wandering in various places I was longing after a good continental breakfast; funny thing is that I started to prefer also Asian food in the morning lol; fish dumplings are really good here tbh.

We've changed room twice due to some cleaness issues. However last room was very clean and nice. And hotel staff are very kind and gentle. Some rooms are had heavy smoker I guess. So need to check availability for non smoking room before you check in. Breakfast is delicious we were so satisfied during stay this hotel.

great hotel, clean, comfortable. the building is old but well maintained. super comfortable beds. the location is perfect. very pleased with the choice!

Best location for Shanghai! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very nice and well equipped. Everything was great.

For a 4 star hotel it felt extremely basic and old. Moreover in the morning the cleaning staff is very loud since 7.30 am.

A hotel with history — conveniently located, clean, with attentive service and delicious breakfast. The facilities are a bit dated, but the overall experience more than makes up for it!
