Very close to Qingxi Ancient Town. Walk for two or three minutes.
The room is large and there is a small yard outside. It's good to sit and drink tea and chat.
The taste of breakfast is very local. The corn is crisp and sweet, and the dumplings are also hand-wrapped at home.

The hotel is nice, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The transportation is convenient, and the underground Funan next to it directly connects to the Green Line of the subway. When I first arrived, I didn't know that I had to walk more than 300 meters in the heavy rain to find another entrance. The staff were very friendly. Shahira helped us arrange the room on the first day. Thank you very much.
Because I came to see the concert, I found that many wmls also lived here, the atmosphere was very good
The surrounding area was being renovated recently, and there was a reminder in the room suggesting that we should not open the curtains. There are only other buildings outside the curtains, and there is no scenery to be seen.
The only downside is that around 1 or 2 in the morning, it was quite noisy, whether it was a garbage truck or renovation work. Fortunately, we all went to bed late, so it didn't affect me much.

9.5/10
Outstanding
GGuest UserWhile the hotel boasts a prime location and the cleaning service was commendable, these were the only positive aspects of my stay. The breakfast offerings were profoundly disappointing, and the dining hall staff demonstrated a distinct lack of basic manners.
What was particularly alarming was the poor customer service at the front desk, the hotel’s primary point of contact. It is frankly astonishing and unacceptable that the food delivery robots exhibited more warmth and politeness than the human receptionists.
Adding to this deeply troubling experience, the manager attempted to “bribe” me with a Labubu bag (easily purchased for approximately 3.99 yuan on Pinduoduo) in exchange for a positive review. This is not about the value of the bag itself, but rather the fact that a hotel within this reputable chain would resort to such tactics. Having stayed in numerous hotels of this brand across various countries, this establishment stands out as the absolute worst, significantly tarnishing the brand’s reputation.
I sincerely hope this feedback serves as a catalyst for reflection and improvement for your future guests. As for myself, I will not be returning.
PPandy016I communicated our pick up needs to hotel at regular intervals and keot them updated about our flight. Advised would be arriving a little early due to flight. Was told to call after landing - no answer. Tried messaging on we chat took a while for response. No clear directions. So arrived at exit after clearing customs and collecting bags. Then told to go back upstairs to gate 3 departures. Waited out there for a long time. Over half an hour. Many other hotels collected people with many others coming and going while we waited. One hotel had 3 vehicles with their name on it pick up patrons in the time we were standing there. I can now see why we were the only ones going to Novotel. Clearly the driver did not leave the hotel after long after we advised we had arrived. When he did turn up in a rundown silver van with no name on it. He drove like a mad man and dangerously. He think he was trying to make up for time. He was rather rude when he dropped us off, not a word from him. Check in experience was no better. Two girls on reception were talking **** about us - yes I had my translator on after explaining our check in details to them. Very poor service and actually unprofessional behaviour. Room service had finished so we weren't able to get anything to eat. Did not feel able nor did I want to speak with front desk again to ask for assistance in ordering some food. Only staff that was friendly or even acknowledged us was the lovely cleaning lady on our floor the following morning. Breakfast was okay. Laundry was a mess from another lady who pulled out all her washing dripping wet and made a huge puddle on the floor. If there had been a towel I would have cleaned up her mess! We wish we had gone straight to the hotel we had originally planned to but opted for the Novotel due to close proximity to airport for our late flight back into Shanghai. We would have been better off going straight to the original hotel over an hour away. I believe we still would have arrived earlier. We have stayed at Novotel Auckland Airport in New Zealand a few times and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is not a good representation of the Novotel brand. Also considering this an airport hotel with many tourists likely utilizing it - very few things have English translation including the vending machine. The hotel building itself is nice and the only positive. Won't be back - step up your game. I usually do rave reviews and very rarely do negative unless warranted.
CcoaltrollMore than worth the price especially considering the location. In terms of rooms what you see is what you get. I didn't ask for many services but the staff seemed extremely nice and respectful, I don't doubt they'd do the best they can. The only concern is thin walls so it's easy to hear others and for others to hear you but considering the price and location I'm surprised that's the only complaint. Surprising thing to say but the toilets are also amazing, nice view, seat heating, bidet, often cleaned and replenished toilet paper, etc etc. Very nice I'll definitely come here next time I'm in Shanghai.
GGuest UserI booked a Deluxe Suite, which was 43 square meters – larger than the family rooms at Atour (this was my initial reason for choosing it). The window view was absolutely beautiful, completely lush and green. If you visit in late autumn, with the sycamore leaves outside the window turning yellow, it would offer a different kind of charm, whether sunny or rainy.
The toiletries provided were Acqua di Parma. There was a walk-in closet, which my son loved to hide in and play games. The hotel's restaurant was also very good; for convenience, we had lunch there on the day we arrived, and both the presentation and taste were excellent. For breakfast, there were options for both Chinese and Western set menus.
The location is extremely convenient. It's just over 700 meters from iapm and the subway station. Several popular and renowned coffee shops are within walking distance, including O.P.S, DUO, TIESHOU Coffee Bureau, and Village Entrance Big Tree Coffee.
The hotel has a chic and refined style, making it more suitable for friends or couples traveling together. Of course, it's not entirely without its downsides; because the windows are very large, the soundproofing isn't ideal, so you might want to ask the front desk for earplugs.
WWU.NIENENA Five-Star Experience from Check-In to Farewell!
Review:
Our stay from August 6–9 was one of the most memorable experiences my wife and I have ever had in Shanghai. Upon arrival, we were thoughtfully upgraded to the Pearl Tower Bund View Suite, and every detail throughout our stay reflected The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards.
Special thanks to Mr. Joey Zhang, Ms. Cherry Gan, Ms. Daisy Sun, and Ms. Lydia – their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care made us feel valued and looked after every single day. Lydia, in particular, greeted us with a radiant smile each day, leaving us with one of the warmest memories of this trip.
From the breathtaking views to the comfort of the room and the impeccable service, everything exceeded our expectations. The Ritz-Carlton will remain our only choice whenever we return to Shanghai.
GGuest UserThe room environment is very good. Although the available space does not seem very large in the picture, it is actually not as crowded as imagined. It is close to most of the surrounding squares and has convenient transportation.
GGuest UserThe location is fantastic! You can walk directly from the second-floor lounge to the riverside, and it's just a two-minute stroll to the ferry terminal. From there, you can catch a 2 RMB ferry to the other side of the river. Housekeeping was very attentive; for example, they replaced our child's bath towels after their afternoon soak while we were out for dinner. The only slight drawback was that you need to turn off the water supply to the bathtub before going to sleep, otherwise, the motor emits a low humming noise. Also, some floorboards seemed a bit warped, possibly from water exposure. Otherwise, everything else was quite good. We had originally planned to stay two nights at the tallest hotel across the river, but our child wasn't keen on it. This was mainly because we encountered a typhoon, and that particular building was often enveloped in clouds, completely obscuring the night view. So, we decided to extend our stay here for an additional two days. The rooftop Southeast Asian restaurant offers absolutely stunning views; however, the food itself isn't particularly good, so I'd highly recommend just going for drinks to enjoy the panorama.
223cruzOverall the lane house is decent set within a lively Shanghai Lane House experience. We lived in 2 for 2 months when we first moved to Shanghai. This was our return trip to revisit our home of 4 yrs. The initial photos for Guisu Homestay with the charming window view doesn’t match the initial sell, but the detailed photos of the actual space does. However it’s smaller than it looks, as the top loft and kitchen counts within the measurement. So if you’re a family of 4 then this is perfect since the middle room will give you space to sit. But if you are 5 with the sofa permanently done up as a bed then it’s tight. All was good except the the shower doors were a little run down and shower was gunky and could use a little redo. All in all a good experience. The host was responsive to our needs but strict on the 12noon checkout. The neighborhood and overall location is unbeatable. Close to great food and served as our center base to revisit the French Concession from Jing An. Definitely a good place if this is your first time in Shanghai.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located ~ 400 m away from the shanghai railway station, not too far to walk but may be a difficult path if you walk with your luggage. I visited there around June. They were renovating the front area of the hotel so you need to encircle another hotel to get to Waiting hotel. Another problem is their internet wasnt working. Other than these problems, i would like to recommend this place. There’s elevator. Room is well furnished and has full needed amenities including refrigerator. Also their smart toilet has a bidet shower which is very nice for Asian (we’re very familiar with it). There’s also a daily room service.
DdjimanderssonOverall I had a decent experience at this hotel, but the service was lacking, which is a shame since the property is very nice. When you check into a 5 star hotel, there are certain expectations and unfortunately this hotel did not meet them.
Upon arrival there is usually a doorman, helping you with your luggage, opening doors and showing you to the reception. There were none when I arrived. That's fine, not really an issue.
However after I dragged my luggage to the reception the staff ignored me for a solid minute while I was standing right in front of them. Not exactly a five star welcome. Of course the room wasn't ready so I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get my key.
The room was nice and clean with a great view, but had a bit of a strange layout where the sink was in the hallway and the shower in the corner so there's no real place to change clothes unless you close the curtains.
It was raining a lot during my stay but the staff were kind enough to lend me a broken umbrella. Better than nothing I guess. That might actually have been her personal umbrella so I appreciate the gesture nonetheless.
During my stay I had a strange feeling of not really being welcome, which I've never had at a hotel in China before.
Upon checkout the staff tried to pressure me multiple times to give a five star review and include certain names in the review which I did not appreciate. That needs to be earned.
If this hotel improves its service it would be 5 star no doubt, but until then it's not really worth the money.
