Omori has a rich history as a Ryokan. The interior is homely and vintage! Like it’s frozen in time in the 1980s. The lounge has a panoramic view of Mount Akagi and several other mountain ranges. you can sip sake or wine from paid dispensers while you find your zen. The Level 8 outdoor bath is awesome and spacious. Views are awesome and the air is refreshing. Omori is right next to the Ikaho bus station as well as the Ikaho Ropeway. Just a 5mins walk to the stone steps as well. Even though the nearest Kombini (Famimart) is a 15 minute walk away, they have their own minimart. Breakfast was well crafted with hand-picked local Gunma produce. Awesome!!!

Stayed for 2 nights in early Dec 2024. Booked the mountain view twin room with cypress bath which comes with both dinner and breakfast. The ryokan styled hotel is located diagonally opposite from the shibukawa bus stop and about 5 mins walk (turn right from the hotel) to the Ikaho stone steps around the mid section of the steps. The hotel is old ryokan style but well maintained and does not see much wear and tear. The lobby which is on the 3rd floor (ground level) is big. No shoes allowed in the hotel, guests have to deposit their shoes at the entrance. Staff were all friendly and polite though not all can speak well in English. They do go much more to make you feel at home. Yutaka is provided at the lobby. My room which is located on the 4th floor corner is considered big. Old styled ryokan kind of design but with western bed. Though the room is laid with tatami on the floor but can still hear people walking if they area heavy or run. Corridor noise does filter in as well but muffled. Unblocked view of the mountain as the hotel sits on an elevated hill. I would recommend to stay with mountain view. The cypress bath can fit 2 person but takes a while to fill, I rather go to the public onsen. Besides the usual amenities, they even provide face wash, face moisturiser, etc in the room. Safe box is provided in the room as well. Wifi seems weak. No place in the bathroom however to hang your clothes or towel. There is an indoor onsen on the first floor and an outdoor one on the 8th floor. The onsen are gender separated. They rotate the male and female onsen on the first floor though both has the same look and facilities. The onsen on the 8th floor has a nice view of the city but no shower facilities. There is a massage chair on the first floor as well. Breakfast and dinner are served on the 2nd floor. I would not say that this is the best, but definitely delicious and sufficient. Check in at 3 pm and check out at 10am which I find a bit too early. Hope they can consider to extend. Overall I would recommend this place to stay if you are coming to ikaho.

Very comfy stay! First time with a Ryokan and it was very nice (though I chose a not-so traditional room), there's English speaking staff onsite too

Everything was so so so nice! Staff was super friendly, views were great, onsen was nice, food was also super good!

Very closed to bus stop .Easy to locate. They have English speaking staffs , they are very helpful. Clean and Spacious room make us have a deep sleep which have not experienced for a long time.

If you stay in a business-type room, you won't have to worry about poor cleaning just because it's not a higher-priced Japanese-style room. The room is very clean and comfortable. The hot springs in the hotel include indoor baths, open-air baths, and paid-for chartered hot spring pools. The food and drinks are delicious. It's close to 365 steps and The shrine can be reached by walking in about 10 minutes (if you hold a map, you can take a small path to get there faster) Diagonally opposite the hotel is the highway bus (stop name: Ikaho Onsen Station) (round trip to Tokyo, tickets need to be reserved in advance, no temporary purchase)

The service staff is kind and courteous, and the open-air bath is "romantic" with a view of the mountains. Although the hotel's facilities are not new, the guest rooms are large and have everything you need, which makes it even more charming when paired with the retro culture of the Ikaho hot spring area. Elements of the hotel's mascot "Horse" can be seen everywhere. Breakfast and dinner are sumptuous and delicious. The chef uses local ingredients to create variations that will tempt your appetite.

This was truly the best accommodation in Ikaho.

The hospitality of the staff was very polite and good. The food was delicious, there was a bath in the room, and the view was great.

Of course it would be better if you understand Japanese, but I don’t understand it. However, there are morning and evening shifts in the store and there are staff who know a little English to help. The most recommended is the hotel’s hot spring ♨️. I also came here for the hot spring, the rooftop open-air bath It’s open and comfortable to soak in. In front of the hotel is the bus stop to Shibukawa Station. If you don’t come by highway bus, the location is excellent. Otherwise, you have to climb a flight of stairs or a slope, but I personally want to carry my suitcase🧳 It’s not bad~ Compared to the hundreds of years old store in the same area, it’s only over 100 years old. Personally, I think the Cp value is pretty good.

In order to go to Shiosei Initial D, I went to Ikaho Onsen for the first time and booked to stay here. I spent three days and two nights in a row, and the dinner and breakfast dishes were different every day! Awesome! This is a hotel in the area that is over a hundred years old. It has a long history and has been renovated. Transportation: Take the Ikaho Onsen Line from Shibukawa Station for half an hour. If you catch the express bus on time, you will arrive within 10 minutes. The hotel is right next to the main bus station of Ikaho Onsen. When you arrive, you will be greeted by staff outside the entrance. Everyone in the hotel has to take off their shoes before entering. The shoes will be kept in the shoe cabinet outside, which is very Japanese hotel style. When checking in and explaining in the lobby, you will be asked when you will have dinner and breakfast, which is very considerate. Then directed to my room. I felt very comfortable as the staff guided/explained very politely. I stayed in a corner Western-style room on the 5th floor, which was half a floor away. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The good thing about the in-room facilities is that there are plenty of sockets, which are useful for charging smartphones. It's just that there is no bathroom in the room. I have to go to the large bathing room on the first floor to take a bath. I just find this inconvenient. Dinner is served in the venue on the 2nd floor with a handwritten menu. The staff explained each item politely and cared about getting enough rice, which was very delicious! This is a perfect service. Dishes were a local selection of meat, fish and vegetables, allowing us to enjoy local produce. Drinks are available at an additional cost and a la carte dishes can be ordered separately. Regarding the breakfast the next day, the portion was very large and very satisfying. Especially the steamed vegetables are very delicious. Even at breakfast, the staff was very friendly and polite, providing bathing information and asking if I need to clean the room that day? I said no. Very considerate, I enjoyed the large bath on the 1st floor, the open-air bath on the 8th floor, and the private open-air bath. The men's and women's hot springs will change venues sooner or later, which is great! Note that only the large bath on the first floor has shampoo and shower gel, so go to the large bath first. In addition to a large bathtub, the public bath also has a sauna and a cold shower. It was a bath that healed my body and mind. The hot spring is very hot and nice to soak in. You can enjoy different scenery in the open-air bath in the morning and evening. It is easier to see the scenery than renting an open-air bath. But the most enjoyable thing is to soak in the hot spring naked while admiring the beautiful scenery! After I soaked in the hot springs in the morning and returned to my room to rest comfortably, a thrilling and embarrassing episode happened. Suddenly someone (named the female manager Omori) opened the door to my room with a key. I had clearly told me that there was no need to clean it. I didn't realize that someone would come in the room. I was completely naked at the time. The scene was very sudden and embarrassing! She was embarrassed and said sorry and immediately closed the door. It was also the first time that a return incident happened to me. I didn’t feel uneasy or unhappy at the moment, I was just scared. When I came back to my senses, I just felt that the female person in charge made an unintentional mistake. Afterwards, when we met, she told me that she was very sorry. Opinions for this hotel: First, because I feel that if you want to enter the guest room, no matter whether there is anyone or not, you must knock on the door and say "Sorry for disturbing you" before entering. The female person in charge suddenly opened the guest room door without saying anything and came in! Not very respectful. The second point is that I have communicated with the hotel staff that there is no need to clean the room. Did you make any mistakes in communication? The third point is that I don’t know whether the female person in charge is intentional or not, but the female person in charge is obviously not dressed to prepare room cleaning equipment. In addition, even if you insist on entering the guest’s room, you must ensure that the guest agrees and has already gone out. Implement. It is recommended that the room should be equipped with a back lock to ensure the safety of guests. I hope this hotel will learn from this to ensure that similar things don't happen to other guests. Very satisfied, clean environment, friendly and polite

In front of the hotel is the bus station and next to it is where you can take the cable car. The open-air hot spring on the top floor is very nice. There are few people in the morning, so you can watch the sunrise there. When leaving the hotel, you can ask the hotel staff to drive you to the station at the hot spring street entrance, which is convenient for taking the bus to Tokyo or Kusatsu Onsen.
