In my opinion, a good B&B should be clean, high-end, and thoughtfully designed. Dali Heliju perfectly met all my expectations.
First, let's talk about cleanliness. Many B&Bs look great in photos, but upon check-in, you often find discrepancies in hygiene, details, and what was pictured. My first impression of Heliju was how neat and comfortable it felt. From the moment I entered the courtyard, the ground, plants, and public areas were all impeccably clean. Inside the room, the bedding, bathroom, and furniture were all well-maintained, with no sense of clutter. Even easily overlooked areas, such as tabletops, windowsills, and corners, were meticulously cleaned. Staying here, you don't have to worry about hygiene issues and can truly relax and enjoy your vacation.
Second is the high-end feel. Heliju's sophistication isn't achieved by simply piling on luxurious decorations; instead, it's reflected in the materials, equipment, and overall user experience. The entire space extensively uses wooden elements and natural materials. The furniture is of excellent quality, and the space design is minimalist yet warm. The room itself is a spacious 50 square meters with a duplex layout, featuring not only a bedroom but also a living room, sofa, coffee table, desk, and dining area, so you won't feel cramped even after several days.
The amenities in the B&B are also very thoughtfully selected. The room is equipped with a whole-house smart system, making the smart door lock and smart toilet very convenient to use. The bathroom fixtures are Kohler brand, providing an excellent bathing experience, and the toiletries are L'Occitane, a noticeable upgrade from typical B&B offerings. Additionally, it comes with a Siemens washing machine, which is incredibly practical for long-term travelers. The bedding is comfortable, and essential infrastructure like air conditioning and hot water are very reliable. These details truly elevate the stay experience.
Furthermore, the in-room entertainment facilities exceed standard B&B expectations. There's a 135-inch 4K JmGO projector that supports phone screen mirroring and has built-in speakers. Coming back to the room at night and watching a movie on the projector was a fantastic experience. The room also thoughtfully provides fruit, tea bags, a coffee maker, and an electric kettle, making it feel less like a typical B&B and more like a carefully prepared home.
Third is the ingenuity. What attracted me most to Heliju is that it doesn't simply chase after trendy 'influencer-style' aesthetics but genuinely considers people's lifestyles. The public areas feature a large table, a tea room, bookshelves, and a fireplace, perfect for drinking tea, chatting, reading, or simply sitting quietly and daydreaming. The entire space blends modern design with traditional Chinese elements. Wooden ceilings, calligraphic paintings, floral arrangements, a fireplace, and the courtyard landscape combine to create a serene and natural ambiance.
The courtyard is also a major highlight. Plants, water features, and rocks are integrated, creating a particularly enchanting atmosphere on rainy days. Sitting in the courtyard or by the window, watching the rain fall and sipping tea, naturally encourages you to slow down. Many B&B common spaces are merely for photos, but Heliju's spaces are truly functional and inviting.
Moreover, the service details are commendable. Throughout my stay, I felt the owner's consideration for guests, such as the abundant amenities, comfortable public areas, and space design suitable for families and friends, all demonstrating the operator's understanding of the accommodation experience.
Overall, Heliju gave me the impression of a B&B that is 'more comfortable to live in than it looks in photos.' It doesn't just aim for luxury but achieves an excellent balance between cleanliness, high-quality amenities, and thoughtful space design. When you come to Dali, besides enjoying the scenery, you also need a place where you can quiet down and enjoy life. Heliju is precisely such a B&B that I would gladly return to.

I specifically chose Xunshan B&B for this trip and was absolutely not disappointed. The overall experience was perfect. It's the most comfortable and therapeutic guesthouse I've ever stayed at in this area.
The location of the B&B is fantastic, built into the mountainside. The environment is serene and quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of the street. As soon as you step outside, you're greeted with lush green mountains and forests. The air is fresh, and in the mornings and evenings, a gentle breeze rustles through the mountains. The sounds of birds and the fragrant flowers create an incredible atmosphere. The overall decor is a warm, natural wood, therapeutic style – simple yet tasteful. The common areas are thoughtfully arranged; the courtyard is neat and elegant, with lounge chairs and green landscaping. Sitting there, sipping tea, enjoying the breeze, daydreaming, and soaking up the sun is incredibly relaxing, perfect for a slow-paced vacation.
The room itself was clean and tidy, with impeccable hygiene. Every corner, under the bed, and the bathroom were spotless. The layout is well-designed, spacious, and airy, with excellent natural light and ventilation. The soft furnishings are especially cozy – warm lighting, soft bedding, and high-quality textiles make for a very comfortable stay. The soundproofing is also good, so it's quiet and peaceful at night, allowing for a very restful sleep. All essential amenities are provided; the toiletries are of good quality, there's ample hot water, and stable water pressure. Attention to detail is evident everywhere.
The owner and staff are incredibly kind, enthusiastic, and attentive. The service is thoughtful without being intrusive; they are gentle and friendly. Any requests are promptly addressed, and they even offer helpful recommendations for local attractions and eateries without being pushy, making for a very comfortable interaction.
Waking up to the mountain breeze and birdsong in the morning, with layers of mountain views outside the window, and enjoying the sunset glow in the evening – it's a perfect escape from the anxiety and superficiality of city life. Here, there's no need to rush your itinerary; just slow down and embrace the slow-paced mountain life. The environment, hygiene, service, and value for money are all top-notch – it's gentle and therapeutic. Whether you're traveling solo, on a romantic getaway, or just need a short break, it's absolutely perfect. I've already quietly saved it and will definitely choose to stay here again next time. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

TongsahubilieBooked two rooms. The hotel is close to the airport with great ocean views. I was satisfied with the facilities, cleanliness, and service. Afternoon tea and breakfast were also very rich, and the food at the ocean view restaurant was delicious. The only minor issue was the pillows – one was too soft and the other too hard for my liking.

Pros: Great location, new rooms, good privacy, and enthusiastic staff.
Areas for improvement:
1. The hotel needs to clarify its positioning. If it's a high-end family-friendly hotel, then the kids' programs need to be well-developed to keep children engaged. If it's positioned as a high-end resort for adults, then there should be clear restrictions on young children to ensure public areas, including restaurants, remain quiet and orderly. For a hotel at this price point, the environment should meet guests' expectations.
2. Improve accessibility for self-driving guests. All three roads leading in and out of the hotel are single-lane, making it incredibly difficult to pass oncoming vehicles. My car was scratched on the way out.
3. Service details need improvement. One day, we returned to our room at 1 PM to find it hadn't been cleaned. On another day, around 3 PM, we found standing water on the bathroom floor – I'm not sure how the cleaning staff managed that. We had three people staying, but only ever received two bath towels. The restaurant staff lacked experience and weren't attentive enough. When settling the bill, they never asked if I had any discount vouchers (which resulted in me paying full price for 4 out of 5 meals, charged to the room, and non-modifiable).

·zichen·Looking for a lively yet quiet place for a family vacation with the kids? If you want a vibrant atmosphere, head to the Old Town. If you prefer peace and quiet, explore the less crowded环海 Road for pleasant surprises. This time, as always, I chose Hilton. The hotel room was clean and tidy, and they even provided a drying rack. The butler was incredibly attentive and met all our needs, even recommending great places to eat and visit. We had so much fun outside that we didn't even get to try some of the hotel's complimentary activities! 😂 The butler also checked in on our travel status frequently, ensuring a worry-free trip. I'm definitely considering staying here again next time!

CijiandelaoheshangThe hotel boasts a beautiful environment, offering stunning views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and you can enjoy tea and the scenery from the balcony. The dining is also quite distinctive, with the Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles being highly recommended, and the breakfast is plentiful. Located halfway up the mountain, it's ideal for those with a car, being super close to the Ancient City and the Cangshan cable car, just a few minutes' drive away.

This is my second time staying in this hotel. When I was leaving, I chatted with the owner and she told me that I also stayed there on the same day last year. What a wonderful coincidence!
I stayed here last year and it was very good. I mainly liked the health programs and organic breakfast here. It is very close to the Caspian Sea. I was too lazy to make a guide this time so I stayed here again. The bed was very comfortable, the quilt was soft, the bathroom was clean and spacious, but the faucet was a little difficult to adjust, and the water rushed too fast and it was a bit painful. Everything else is good, the child said he would stay here again next time.
40-minute back healing SPA: The free program was very comfortable, there was no sales pitch, and the service was done very seriously.

The hotel's style is really unique and authentically local, which was a big plus for us foreigners visiting Dali. We absolutely loved it. The room was super comfortable, especially the extra-large and luxurious bathroom with its big bathtub. Overall, our stay here was incredibly pleasant; even during the Spring Festival, it never felt crowded. What's more, the location is fantastic – right next to the ancient city wall, which means you avoid the hustle and bustle inside the old town. The vibe was just right. It's also the closest place to park near the ancient city entrance, making transportation very convenient. Oh, and I really enjoyed the coffee at breakfast; I even went to check the brand of beans and ended up buying the same kind when I got home! 😻

Guest UserExceeds expectation. Staff was kind enough to upgrade our room so that we will not be staying near the large tour group which may be nosy. Our room was very spacious. Location was ok, walkable from high speed train station
