Spa hotels in Beppu

It’s definitely a 6 stars get away luxury hotel. New and cozy. Situated at the hill top and can glance the whole view of Beppu. Can’t complain

Gorgeous hotel on the bay in Beppu with stunning views of the sea and mountains. Hotel is modern and beautiful, influenced by traditional craftsmanship and architecture. Meals are delicious and draw on local delicacies. Service is so-so. Staff seem overwhelmed and distant. Lots of activities planned for guests, but noise doesn’t travel. Hot springs are relaxing, although there are only two baths inside and one, small one outside. Shop is not great. Would recommend the hotel consider selling some of the dish ware or toiletries in the bathroom or other crafts and or local products from Oita, etc.

Room: neat clean space. lights and Aircon . the area between the beds is very spacious and there are large lockers so plenty of space to store your stuff . Bathroom: two normal showers and a large shower room where you can rent a bath hammock thing. three vanity sinks in this bathroom, then there's a toilet room with three toilets and three sinks, so lots of options. shampoo conditioner and body wash supplied. decent hairdryer. washing machine 300 yen, then dryer 100 yen per 15 mins. Security: pin code on dormitory. Amenities: there is a kitchen space and you can also order food from the 5th floor of the tower to the hostel lounge. Location: about ten minute walk from the station. plenty of eating places and shops nearby. there is a bus stop right outside. Other: might be useful if there were bins in the dormitory rather than having to go back and forth between the lounge. hooks in the bed area might also be useful e.g. for hanging your towel, although I suppose you could put it in your locker

The address on Google Maps was the hot spring location. After wandering back and forth about 50 meters, I finally found it. It wasn't a Japanese-style entrance, but a modern one. Ryokan U had a small rooftop with a mountain and ocean view, but it was opaque, so I couldn't see it while sitting. The open-air bath was so cold that I had to use the light to shower. The large public bath on the basement level was much better. The special kaiseki dinner was light and healthy. The meal took about an hour and 10 minutes. It served all kinds of food, including land, sea, and air. It was my first time trying pork shabu-shabu, and it was surprisingly delicious, even with a raw egg. The hot spring water felt a little lacking compared to the Kinosaki Onsen I visited before, but the hot spring water was fine.

Beppu was a great landing spot! It's also really close to Oita. I managed to get the manhole cover cards, but unfortunately, I couldn't go to Yufuin no Mori because the transportation to Yufuin is under renovation. Guess I'll have to come back next time and see if there are any good collectibles to splurge on!

The staff is friendly and speaks English well; the place is quiet and cozy, and the location is perfect. It’s almost a distance to Beppu tourist attractions, especially the Beppu tower and Beppu JR stations. The hostel is also located near the port area, where you can relax and take a break. The hostel also has a cafe, a spacious kitchen, and an artificial hot spring. Although some amenities are not included, you have to purchase them at the front desk, the accommodation cost is relatively cheap, so that’s okay. It's a good thing I have my own towels and other amenities. I will definitely be back here when I return.

Never seen a hostel with hot springs, that's super cool! If you need them, I recommend bringing your own earplugs and eye mask. Luggage storage is available for 100 JPY per use, but there are only four spots.

The staffs were nice, service was good, and the dining room is big, comfortable, and with the kitchen. The restroom has hot spring water which is wonderful. There are game room for kids and hot water for feet to relax. I would recommend other people to stay in this hostel.

Kannawa is close to many attractions, and the owners are friendly. Translation software made communication smooth, and I confirmed my dining and check-out times upon arrival. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the open-air baths were practically like having your own private bath during off-peak hours. The area was safe at night, and you could freely wander around Kannawa. I visited Beppu's eight hot springs and seven hells, and around 11 PM, I also went to the nearby Kura Onsen. Since Kura was deserted at night, I essentially had it all to myself. The meal includes the hell bath, so you don't need to eat there repeatedly. Providing a menu would be even better.

The receptionist was courteous. The other staff members were also considerate. The rooms are clean and have plenty of amenities. The breakfast was luxurious and filling.
