"Arrived here at 2pm, reception closed. Pressed intercom as instructed but no one came. Rang Huttopia and a polite lady said someone would ring me. After an hour’s wait in 35 deg, we decided to move on. (There were now four vans waiting). Manoevering onnthe car park we saw a group of four or five youngsters larking about. One of the these turned out to be the manager. Asked him why he hadn’t rung me or opened up but he just said “4pm”. He could have given us the gate code and let us enter but as quite often seems the case in France, he didnt really care and just wanted his 2hr lunch/ playtime. Not sure he quite understood customer service. I guess Huttopia wouldn’t be too happy"

"This is an excellent hotel. We stayed four nights and it was a really good experience. Good-sized and very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast with a huge array of choices. Pleasant small bar, and a great restaurant - we had a meal in the restaurant on our last night and it was excellent, with modern interpretations of regional dishes. Very helpful and professional staff in every department. The hotel is opposite the station, making it very convenient if travelling by train. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the centre of Albi."

"We've just come back from beautiful Albi and are very pleased we chose the Hotel Laperouse for our stay. The young family that run the hotel were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and the hotel was delight. The location was very convenient only 10 minutes from the train station and on the edge of the old town. We were in a superior double which was very quiet, comfortable, spacious and clean with a lovely view down to the secluded garden and swimming pool area. There was a fan in the room but no air conditioning and I suspect it is for little details like this that the property is only rated 2 stars."
