"I have stayed at The Red Lion some years back. This time I was very pleased to see that the interior decoration had been updated. The room I had was very pleasantly decorated with William Morris wallpaper. The breakfast and restaurant and restaurant area had had a facelift too. Definitely an improvement from what it looked like previously. The staff members at reception were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Thank you."

"Ample parking. Sheffield is a bit misleading it's a 30min drive. It's southbound but only a short drive to turn onto northbound. Reception helpful and friendly 24hr. Free parking, rooms clean and beds comfy. Shower and bath work well. A decent place for a night stopover."

"What a great hotel. Every member of staff I encountered was well trained and knew exactly how to engage guests and ensure their visit was exactly as they wanted it to be. From entering the hotel and breathing in the most beautiful fragrance to immaculate well designed rooms - plug and USB sockets built into the bed frame! I wish I had been able to try the spa - next time! I was supposed to get to the hotel earlier and had a table booked, but I was delayed so I had to cancel it - the menu looks amazing and certainly worth a visit for that alone. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with the usual English breakfast items, an assortment of continental options (fruit, salami and the like) and tea and filter coffee, refilled by the attentive restaurant team. I wish I lived closer so I could go to some of the special events they put on in here. Just check out the hotel website to see what I mean."

"First time using this motel as needed somewhere to stay while visiting friends to arrange a funeral and is only a couple of miles away from their house and price was perfect. Its not trying to be something it isn't, the rooms are showing their age but the bedsheets and towels looked brand new. The bathroom again has aged but the shower was powerful and everthing served its purpose. Tea/coffee and a very clean kettle is supplied and there is a tv and electric radiator.
Staff very helpful and the maids very curteous. I have already booked a room again for the aforementioned funeral as apart from price the check-in time is 14.00hrs which is perfect.
I did not try the food as i had no need to so can't review it. All in all not a romantic weekend away place but great for stopovers and again if you want something better you will have to pay more for it."
