Takaragawa Onsen Ousenkaku
"Great place to relax. And escape from the city. Outdoor onsen are stunning. Dinner and breakfast is good. Have some dust at the window in the room."
Fukunoya
"Overall, it's clean and tidy. There's a step up at the entrance, but shoes are allowed inside, so be aware of that. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, and the last bus leaves early, so those looking for a room without meals should consider their options."
Bettei Senjyuan
"We stayed here in February 2026 in the special room. It was gigantic. There was an absolutely insane amount of snow this year, so the surrounding areas were covered in it. It was still absolutely beautiful. Even though we mostly saw just snow it was gorgeous. We did not use the public baths, but I did use the massage chair in one of the bath areas the in room on which was outdoor was perfect for us. The meals were prepared with us in mind and customized as we requested with our food preferences of no squid or octopus. We ate in our own a private room with a lovely view. The service here was top-notch and we’ve been to quite a few ryokan as this was my ninth trip and my to Japan. They had Japanese whisky and wine in the lobby area after to dinner which was lovely. There was even an ability to somewhat customize, the futon bedding. Finally after dinner there was some rice cake snacks and fruit in the room which I thought was great. They are also complementary beverages, including alcohol in the fridge. I would definitely come back."

"I visited in early summer when the countryside was beautiful. Prior to our stay, we received a thorough phone call to confirm matters, and our requests were answered perfectly. My elderly parents were staying with me, and I had booked a room with stairs, so they said I could change the room if there was a room available, so they upgraded me and we had a wonderful stay. Ta. There are antiques throughout the hotel, making it feel like you've traveled back in time. In addition, the elderly and children will be happy because an electric cart will take them from the front desk to the accommodation building. When you take the glass monorail to the observation deck, you can look down on the thatched roof of the hotel, and see the majestic Mt. Akagi and the green countryside, making it feel like a small sightseeing trip. I had previously stayed at the sister restaurant, Yakushi Onsen, but it was a different experience and I was impressed. The room was also decorated with antique chests of drawers and transoms, and the daily necessities and home appliances were well hidden from view, giving a sense of care throughout. Some hotels near the beach have washing machines in the rooms, but I was surprised to find a drum-type washer/dryer in the room. Also, Suikinkutsu in the toilet! The one in the garden of a temple! You can feel the owner's commitment. The bath in the room has an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and although it is not a hot spring, there is also a small TV and refrigerator hidden here. The large public bath is fed by natural hot spring water, and the faint smell of sulfur makes your skin feel slippery when you soak in the hot water. Bath towels are also available in the large communal bath in the accommodation building. The bathroom amenities were KNOLL, the skin lotions were Sekkisei, and the hair dryer was Koizumi. I did not go to the public bath for day trip baths. I stayed for 2 nights and was very satisfied with the food. The meals were served in a private room, using a lot of local ingredients, and I was completely satisfied. Even though we had each of us cook rice in a pot, we were too full to eat it. The breakfast was also luxurious, using ingredients that seemed to be good for the body, and including a hot pot of medicinal soup. If I have a chance, I would like to visit again."
Minakami Onsen Aratashi Minakami
"What a surprise. A gem. Spacious room. Small hot bath on the terrace with a view on the river. Initially, looking at the dining room, I thought food would be basic. BUT the set menu was really really good. 10/10. 1 michelin star. A series of small so well presented european dishes with a small touch of Japanese cuisine. Une oeuvre d'art. Excellent. Breakfast, Japanese or European. Excellent too. Staff was great too. We will definitely come back."
Zazan Minakami
"Loved everything about this hotel! Clean rooms, helpful staff, and a cozy vibe made it a memorable stay."
Houshi Onsen Chojukan
"Stayed overnight at Hoshi Onsen and it was honestly magical. The highlight was soaking in the outdoor bath while snow gently fell around us, super peaceful and almost unreal. The traditional ryokan atmosphere, from the wooden interiors to the quiet surroundings, made it feel like stepping back in time. The onsen itself is beautiful and serene, especially in winter. Service was warm and attentive, and everything felt very authentic and well-preserved. It’s the kind of place where you just slow down and fully relax. Definitely coming back, this is one of those experiences you don’t forget!!"
Tatsumikan
"The staff here was amazing. The service was exceptional and the sanitary also really good. Not just that but the food wasn’t just good but also offered an amazing in depth experience into the deep depths of Japanese cuisine. I would recommend anyone to come here if seeking a quick easy nights rest as its close to transportation."
Minakamisansou
"This is my 2nd time starting at this hotel. Dinner and breakfast a so good. Recommend stay here."

Aratashi Minakami
"A newly built modern hotel that comes with a private onsen in your balcony. Dinner with fusion which is not the usual for ryokan stays. You get to choose between Japanese or Western cuisine which we opt for Japanese and it was delicious! it's just a 6mins walk down to the Supermarket. Will definitely come back some day again!"
Minakami Hotel Juraku
"This was my first time staying at Mizukami Juraku, but it was pretty good. The view from the window was nice because it was on a hill. The food was also great, with a buffet of whatever you wanted."
Nitaya
"Good!"
Onsen Theme Park Ryuudou
"Absolutely stunning! I couldn't stop praising it from the moment I got off the bus! The service was impeccable, making me feel right at home. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious and meticulously prepared. Even back in Taiwan, I'm still craving it. I'll definitely bring my family next time, and I'll definitely recommend it to all my friends."
Ryokan Tanigawa
"I visited this inn for work. The sister inn Senjyuan was really good, so I decided to stay here this time! I wanted to relax by myself, so I booked one with an open-air bath. I made a reservation on the day, but they were flexible in their response. The hospitality was reminiscent of Senjyuan, from the moment I arrived until the time I was shown around. The food was also very satisfying, and made generous use of local ingredients. I really enjoyed this traditional hot spring inn."
Gensen Yunoyado Sennotani
"The view is excellent. Buffet spread is delicious. The staff all are very friendly and helpful"
Kurayashiki
"Pro: The room were so clean and very well maintained, its surely larger than what explained in trip.com 16sqm. With indoor balcony, bathroom, toilet; the roomsize should be around 40sqm. The onsen both indoor and outdoor was so good. However, this hotel has very limited service, no check in counter, no reception, no people. First day when we arrived, all the lights in front of hotel was off so we were not sure if this is really hotel. And when we walk inside hotel prepared all documents and keys on the table. Cons; corridor was freezing in winter. There was only heater in the room and specific point at living room. But hotels provided alcohol beverage to warm us up in the living room instead. ^~^"
Hotel Lomosa
"Run by Chinese, communication is easy. European-style decor, but details could be improved. There's a hot spring and open-air bath, and a self-service drink on the first floor. There's a dilapidated hot spring street on the water, and a photo of a renovated ruin with live music is included."
