"First time in Gunma. Originally planned to go to Ikaho after Kusatsu Onsen, I saw a tweet by chance and changed to Relais & Chateaux member hotel, Minakami Onsen – Senjuan. I have stayed in so many hot spring hotels, and Senjuan can be said to have the best service. When I arrived at the hotel, tea and snacks were served separately according to the convention. At this time, the waiter took out four pens and five ballpoint pens for you to choose, which was a full sense of ceremony. Going to the room, Ohbasan tried his best to introduce various facilities in English along the way. Each room has a private open-air hot spring, mini-bar soft drinks are free, and equipped with various teas and capsule coffee. There is a reading room and a rest area in the hotel garden, with free drinks and desserts. I went to the reading room for a walk and was ready to leave. The waiter was afraid that I didn’t know that I could order and chased me to the door to ask if I needed a drink. For dinner, everyone had a room, and I was arranged in a glass room like a tree house. After dinner, I returned to the room. The bed was already made, and different embroidery patterns were provided according to the season. It is worth mentioning that the tea and teapot prepared at night are different from those during the day. They even prepared fruits and midnight snacks. The cakes were placed in the steamer, and the time was set. You just had to press start. There were free drink time periods in the morning and evening, with juice, milk, tea and various alcoholic beverages. If you are interested, you can also use a telescope to observe the starry sky or the nearby Southern Alps. The season was a bit awkward this time, and there was only some snow left in the courtyard. If you come in late winter or midsummer, it must be very beautiful. An open-air hot spring in the snow, just thinking about it makes your life complete~"

"We spent a wonderful week at the Ryudo onsen. I've read lots of other reviews in different languages ​​where people complain about the cleanliness being subpar and similar things. These things always depend on what you expect. This onsen is certainly not the newest and has a long history. For us, however, everything here was positive: we really liked our room - you could actually say a suite with a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom and our own garden onsen if you like - and we had a really relaxing week here. The fact that this place has 18 different baths, each with its own separate design, is the highlight. The food is excellent - every day there was a typical Japanese breakfast and dinner with a lively selection of vegetables, meat and fish dishes. The nature is beautiful and invites you to take long walks. The lobby is comfortably warm and the free Wi-Fi is extremely convenient for people who don't have Japanese cell phones. We traveled all the way from Munich and I suspect it won't be the last time."

"To say that it is a luxury ryokan in a beautiful setting with perfect service and amazing food is a joke. It is a standard business class hotel with an enhanced bathroom - big soaking tub and big picture window - it has no decor, no closet, no space. There is no public area at the hotel (no sitting room, terrace, anything), no outside grounds/gardens (it just sits in the curve of a serpentine road), no views, just your room and a long corridor. The service is non-existent as there are only 2 people on staff at any given time at the hotel, and they are useless and rude, they don't even answer emails or phone calls. Refused to serve us dinner although it is out of town with no other food service nearby. USD300 was a big mistake, $100 would have been more adequate."

"It is said to be suitable for families with children, but from my experience staying there, it may not be suitable for families with children. There is no baby shampoo or baby bath. Depending on the room you stay in, strollers may not be suitable because there are stairs, so a baby carrier is essential. There are a lot of stairs. There is only a very basic baby chair (without a belt). There seem to be picture books, but there are no toys. There are no diaper changing tables in the toilets, etc. It is a bit strict for families with children, so it may be that the inn is not welcoming to families with children. There are quite a lot of dishes for infants, and the meals for adults are also delicious. However, when it is crowded, I don't know if there is a shortage of staff or the estimated time it will take to eat is too long, but it was hectic afterwards, as it seemed like they would not be able to make the last order. I secretly thought that with that amount of menu and alcohol, 2.5 hours would be tough. The hot spring is very comfortable and wonderful. For some reason, the bath attached to the room is a jacuzzi (the contents are natural hot springs, which is great), which ruins the atmosphere, but if you open the window all the way, it could be called an open-air bath. The food and hot springs are great, but there are a lot of things that are a bit disappointing. If they are not child-friendly, I wish they would be honest about it."
