"The hotel is easily reachable from the train station. It is basic and already dated interiors in the room. We booked for 2 days and got a noisy room hearing trains pass by. We asked reception to switch to a room on the street side and got it arranged for our 2nd day without problem."

"The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is right on the marina and within walking distance of nearby restaurants. Trani is not a "tourist" town, but what you will find are excellent restaurants and the freshest of seafood. The hotel is dated, but our room was huge. The only downside was that they had already switched off the cooling system so our room was quite warm. The breakfast is only okay. They have a wide selection, but they do not rotate and refresh items quickly enough. We were able to park right in front of the hotel which was perfect. For the price this is a good choice."

"Fantastic building and location but hugely disappointing hotel. Despite so much potential, it the dark and gloom throughout was matched by the atmosphere and attitude of staff. We were even reprimanded for opening blinds in the corridor leading to our room to let some sunlight in so we could safely traverse the multiple tiled steps. Our junior suite (216 euros) had no view of the street or city, as promised, but a blank wall. There was a kettle but no tea or coffee and no drinking glasses, just cheap disposable plastic beakers. Worse was the lack of WiFi. First the wind was blamed, but then other staff (probably being too honest) confirmed there had never been a connection in that part of the building. Despite knowing this, the hotel continues to advertise Free Wifi in all rooms. Breakfast, held on the terrace despite a cold wind blowing (staff wore black leather gloves to try and keep warm), was uninspiring for a prestigious hotel. When we sought to sit in the sun we were told that wasn’t allowed and were forced to sit, freezing, in the shade. All these shortcomings, and the prevailing culture, could be improved by good management."

"We stumbled across this magnificent place — Ascosa Relais sul Mare — while exploring Puglia, and what an incredible discovery it turned out to be! We were simply looking for somewhere to have a drink, but instead we found one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Even though the bar was officially closed, the Direttore, Emanuele Bassi, went above and beyond — he personally opened it up for us so we could sample some of their local offerings. And my goodness, did we sample well! Emanuele introduced us to a stunning local red wine called Susumaniello, produced right here in Puglia. What a revelation — a bold, full-bodied red that glides over your tongue and down your throat like liquid velvet. Absolutely divine! If you find yourself anywhere near this region, do yourself a favour and pop in to see Emanuele. His warmth, passion, and hospitality embody everything that makes Puglia so special. And whatever you do, don’t leave without tasting that amazing wine! Five stars all around — an unforgettable experience!"

B&B Torrente Antico

"Sylvia is an amazing hostess and her small boutique B&B is marvelous. She is very proud of the place and of her town and after a few days stay one can understand why. She can provide a lockup parking about 10 minutes walk from the B&B. Best to meet her either there else in the open square a block from the property as it is in a restricted zone where tourist cars cannot enter. The property has 3 guest rooms ( one on the same floor as Sylvia's home and two up a fight of stairs.) The rooms are small but fine. The wifi and aircon are both good. The small bathroom is fine too. There is a nice terrace next to the two upstairs rooms. A great benefit of the place is its location which is a 3 minute walk from the port area which is very lively. The old town itself is full of alleys where you can wonder for a few hours readily, and come across many small shops, bars and restaurants. About 600 meters from the B&B is a Lido with good quality umbrellas and sunbeds and the water is ok ( not as clear as more south like Monopoli area). Sylvia has an arrangement with the cafe downstairs where you can get breakfast. We had Italian cakes, coffee and orange juice which was fine given we were having lunches and dinners too. If you want to experience the old town and have a lovely clean place with an excellent hostess who will give you good restaurant tips, and get all this fir a good price then don't wait, book."
