"We arrived a bit before 2pm. Sign said to use rear entrance. On entry the office is closed with a sign to call a number. We were then guided over the phone to our room. As it hadn't been cleaned yet, he handed us over to the cleaners who gave us another room that was cleaned and sorted the key for us. Very unprofessional, but the cleaning staff were nice and helpful. The room has one glass and one towel, so had to get an extra of each. The room was clean and functional, but very old and dated with some mould in the shower. Our room was in the mail hotel building. A newer building was at the back and these were probably nicer. It is cheap though, so I suppose you get what you pay for."

"The 2 bedroom cabin I booked was very new and clean. The kitchen had a stove, microwave oven, refridgerator and all cookinv and cleaning utensils. The beds were large and comfortable but blankets provided were not very warm for winter weather. We left the air conditioner on all night. The bathroom was designed for disabled access but there were no towel racks or hooks for hanging clothes. Location was on the main highway and a few minutes drive from a large shopping centre. Eyre Hotel

"Hugely disappointed with a function held at the eyre hotel. There were not enough staff behind the bar, people waited ages for drinks service, attendees complained to me the bar staff couldn’t get drinks orders correct. It was a hot day and we were outside. Staff didn’t put the fans or misters on or put umbrellas up. Hard to find staff to ask for help to do so. We had a tab for beer and wine going in the function area booked and staff repeatedly charged our attendees for drinks. I am not confident the $3,500 we put down went to the right people. Found a guy in the front bar getting spirits on my tab at 6 pm when I’d been paying for my own drinks since 4 pm! No leadership on the day and some bar staff not very friendly or polite. I don’t plan to go back"

Whyalla Country Inn Motel

"The price is very cheap, so the requirements are not high. The facilities are sufficient. The bed is surprisingly comfortable and there is no smell. Except for the bathroom water, which is a bit small, it takes a while to take a shower, but the hot water is sufficient."
