Zhuhai L Hotel （Gongbei Port High-speed Railway Station）

Facilities: Decent, they cover all the basics, including a makeup mirror and an amenity kit. Cleanliness: Average. Ambiance: The decor feels a bit dated and old-fashioned, mostly wooden. The doors aren't smart-card operated either. The only plus is its convenient location near the border crossing. Getting to your room is a bit of a hassle with the elevators; you have to go up to the 5th floor and then switch to another one. Service: I ordered some late-night supper, and a male staff member kindly brought it up for me. Another male staff member at the elevator also helped open the door. These two gentlemen were great! 👍 Overall: Upon check-in, I was told I'd be upgraded to the 11th floor for a quieter stay (I was originally assigned to the 6th). They also promised a complimentary fruit platter, but it never arrived. Furthermore, the soundproofing was quite poor. I definitely won't be staying here again. A final note: It seems free upgrades are conditional on leaving a positive review. When I brought this up with their customer service, she actually told me that if I was going to leave a bad review, I didn't have to write it at all. I was utterly speechless. 😑
