Posted on Feb 22, 2024|Resort Lagoon King Room
Rip RipWas expecting more given the price we paid, apparently already considered low season.
The pool lagoon was disappointing and expected higher standards, more staff and cleanliness.
Hotel restaurant food expensive unless gambling and apparently would have great discount.
Room service was good and value for money.
Expected small amenities like free bottled water to be more generous given the heat. Apparently just 2 bottles per check in although we stayed 2 nights .
Bathroom and toiletries reasonable although bathroom door had a drum which made it inconvenient to open as door swung closed automatically ..

Anonymous UserWhile the facilities aren't new, the cleanliness was impeccable, and I appreciated having a separate toilet and shower. The only amenity provided was hand soap, so I brought everything else I needed. With a restaurant and a KIOSK on-site, finding good food was never an issue. You can also use the cooking space to self-cater if you bring your own ingredients and equipment; I saw many guests who had driven there doing just that.
And above all, the observation deck here is uncrowded and highly recommended! We didn't have great weather during our optional tour and missed the sunrise, so the next day we woke up early, went to this observation deck, and were rewarded with a beautiful blue sky view of Uluru.
Since Uluru trips primarily involve sunrise/sunset tours and trekking, and you won't be spending much time in your room, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to save on accommodation costs.🤗

For me, there are several factors when it comes to reviewing a hotel. In this case, the property mainly operates as a pub and restaurant, with the hotel as more of an add-on feature.
Location: 5 stars, no doubt. It’s right in the CBD, making it super convenient to walk around and access nearby places.
Room: Spacious, clean, well-equipped, and facing the pool—so at least there’s a nice view. However, there are a few downsides. The rooms are not soundproof at all. Since there are live performances at the open-space pub right below from about 6–10pm, expect some noise. Even after the music ends, you can still hear people chatting downstairs. And just fyi there is no toothpaste, and indoor flip flop.
Wi-Fi: This was the biggest issue. Even though I stayed in the room closest to the router (as staff mentioned) and the hotel has two networks—one for pub guests and one for hotel guests—the signal basically disappeared once I stepped into my room. My phone couldn’t connect at all unless I went outside, and while my iPad could connect, the connection kept dropping every 15–20 minutes. I had to manually reconnect each time. I’m not an IT expert, but it seems like they might be using a small-scale or shared network that struggles when too many users are online.
Aside from that, everything else was fine. The staff were supportive, and both check-in and check-out were smooth—especially check-out, which was quick and hassle-free.

Very convenient location just a short walk into Alice Springs town. I walked to Anzac Hill Lookout. Olive Pink Botanic Garden is about a 5-minute walk away. It was also easy to drive to Larapinta Drive and the routes to the gorges and waterholes of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Handy to restaurants in the immediate area. I would highly recommend Tali in the Lassetters Casino complex.
I stayed 4 nights before heading to Uluru area and another night on my return. Unfortunately, both rooms were not clean. In fact, the crumpled pillows suggested the pillow cases had not been changed. In the first room, there were ***** hairs in the sheets and the kitchen and bathroom surfaces were also not properly cleaned. In the second room, which smellt strongly of disinfectant, while the sheets and pillow cases appeared freshly changed, the duvet/bedspread/quilt had evidently not been washed/cleaned for a while and many hairs fell out of it onto the sheets when it was folded back. Yuck! The rooms could do with refurbishing.
I found it a bot odd that despite the many signs advising guests to lock doors and hide valuables - and that the hotel could not be responsible for thefts - the outside sliding screen door of each unit could not be locked from the outside (I confirmed this with reception).
If you can overlook the cleanliness issues, this hotel is a convenient base to explore Alice Springs and the West Macs.

100% recommend this place! The staff is simply amazing and kind. The guy at the reception which we assume to be the manager was so helpful and accommodating. The room was nice and we liked the new decoration ! Please do yourself a favor and come stay at this place. Also loved the private parking, helped us to sleep better knowing our car is secured.

Good service! Mervin is friendly and helpful. We were lucky to be there after rain. Green grasses on the Larapinta Trail / West McDonald National Park.
The $15 parking per day at hostel is limited but convenient.

I originally booked this hotel, but upon check-in, I was upgraded to Desert Gardens Hotel because the rooms were full. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic, and there was 24-hour butler service.

Guest UserThe room was spacious and reasonably clean. The entire resort is a small area built in the middle of the desert, so you can't expect a super 5-star experience, but it has everything you need and the facilities are complete. I'd say it's on par with some four-star hotels in China. It's inevitable to have some small insects in this kind of location, fewer in winter, but I did find a bee in the room and successfully fought it off, which is a normal occurrence. The service was good, with a 24-hour front desk, and they were very helpful and attentive in answering all sorts of questions. The two best restaurants in the resort are located within Desert Garden, so the biggest advantage of staying here is the convenience for dining.

The check in experience was not good. Room was fully paid for but had to provide credit card even though I don't have one. Desk clerk made it quite clear that any damage would need to be paid for. why, because I am Aboriginal (he did not say this but it was clear in his attitude). He also mentioned about guests.
for a company that makes a substantial amount of money from the Aboriginal community it is sad that you have prejudiced people welcoming guests.
