Yaji Mountain

Yaji Mountain is a famous Taoist site in Pinggu, Beijing, and is as famous as Miaofeng Mountain in Mentougou, Beijing. They are two famous Taoist sites in Beijing. Yaji Mountain has two peaks, and Yaji Mountain may be named after this. One peak has a Jade Emperor Pavilion, and the other peak has a temple. Every year on the first day of the fourth lunar month, there is a very lively temple fair, with people coming to offer incense, attend the temple fair, and play, it's crowded with people. There are two ways up the mountain, one is through the main gate and up the mountain through the archway, this way is farther but you can pass several spots. The other is a small road that goes up the mountain through the forest, this way is closer but there is not much scenery. At the foot of the mountain is the place for the temple fair and stalls. When it's lively, various performances are on stage, and the goods are rich and varied, with many local agricultural products (the dried peaches are very delicious). When there are many people, it's hard to park if you go late. Compared with Miaofeng Mountain, it's easier to park.
