Mysteriously interesting

Kiev is a cool place to visit that isn't normally on people's go to places. However it's still a capital that has some interesting sites, while still retaining vestiges of it's past. Like other former Soviet places, the city is reminded of this past with numerous buildings in this Brutalist and/or Stalinist style. There are also traces of the period before that as evidenced through the more European architecture you'll find in the city center and surrounding areas. It really marks for a grand capital. The city isn't awfully expansive so it's feasible #city o walk around and explore various neighborhoods. You'll find pretty blue churches, a cute (and cheap) funicular, as well as grand squares and avenues. Especially when visiting in early spring, the cloudy and gray weather adds an extra sense of mystery to the city that makes it all that more exciting to explore! #urban #City #travel #Kiev #Ukraine
