Thaipusum celebration in Chetti Village 🪔

#thingstodo The Chetti Village(Kampung Chetty) is situated in Jalan Gajah Berang, Melaka. The village is home to a small community of Chetti Ethnic, the descendants from Tamil traders who settled in Melaka over 500 years ago. During my visit to the Chetti Village last evening, the villagers were celebrated the Thaipusum festival, it's the Hindu Tamil festival that celebrates the victory of the god Murugan over the demon Surapadman. The Hindu priest is standing on a Thaipusam Golden Chariot goes around the village blessing for the villagers.
