#Amalfi Coast Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Amalfi is the most charming coastal town in the world
Among the many coastlines in Italy,
the scenery of the Amalfi Coast is the most beautiful.
Located on the south side of the Sorrento Peninsula in southern Italy,
from Salerno to Positano, there are 14 coastal towns. In 1997, the Amalfi Coast
was listed as a 'Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site' by UNESCO.
🍀
One of the top ten most beautiful sights in the world,
together with the Greek islands, it is known as 'Paradise on Earth'. The sunset light permeates the entire sea, waves and sails,
the houses are scattered and shrouded in smoke, the crowd and vehicles on the cliff path are calm and peaceful, and the beauty is overwhelming.
🍀
There is a small town also called Amalfi.
The name of this town is also the source of the name of the Amalfi Coast.
From Positano along Salerno,
there is a bay road known as 'Lemon Street'.

PATH OF THE GODS , ALMAFI COAST
PATH OF THE GODS, ALMAFI COAST
Dari kawasan pergunungan kita menuju ke pinggir lautan … dari utara minggir ke selatan. The famous Almafi Coast, a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. Kawasan dengan tebing tinggi di sepanjang pinggir laut yang menghubungkan penempatan tepi laut yang cukup terkenal, definitely one of the most beautiful part of Italy 🇮🇹 . The not so good thing is this place can be crowded and expensive especially in peak season.
So that’s why I choose to travel on the off season and the best way to explore this region in my opinion is by foot. Terdapat banyak hiking trails di sepanjang tebing tinggi pinggir laut dengan view yang cukup dramatic di antara bandar Almafi dan Positano but I choose the most famous—the Sentiero degli Dei or Path of the Gods!
This 8 kilometres hike between the village of Bomerano to Nocella, Positano and vice versa will take around 2 to 4 hours (depending on how many times you stops to take in all the views).
So how difficult it is? It’s can be easy to moderate difficulty… you find it easy if you are an experienced hiker … which I’m not and I find it was not too bad .. BUT … bare in mind that this hike is not for everyone and never ever underestimate the risks because some of the paths are rough, very exposed and narrow with loose stones. So be extra careful with your feet.
The important thing to know is it’s much easier to start your hike from the village Bomerano (easily reach by bus from Almafi) and end it in Nocella because the hike mostly downhill.
But if you up for something more challenging you can do it the opposite way 🤷🏼♂️.
I just love hiking/ tracking along the coastline - you’ll have epic seascapes, dramatic cliffs, and epic coastal scenery. I have a chance to do a few costal hike around Europe and here are my top 3 so far :
1. Fira to Oia, Santorini
2. Path of The Gods, Almafi Coast
3. Monterosso to Vernazza, Cinque Terre

Travelling in Amalfi
Amalfi is a beautiful place for travelling. The beaches, church, and local shops are special. However, there is always packed with people. Also, some of the Italians are rude by keep pushing us during queuing. Plus, we have been jumping queue by the Italians.#amalficoast
CIAO POSITANO : A CLIFFSIDE VILLAGE
#eurotrip
It was a summer during that time
After almost 20 hours journey finally reached this mesmerizing cliffside village. It was my greatest moment ever as i celebrated my birthday here overlooking the sunny Amalfi coast and relaxing at the pebbled shores beach.
The structure, arrangement of the village are really amazing. Stayed in one of the boutique guesthouse with italian decor and super friendly host was lovely as i managed to learn and assimilate with local culture and understand the culture of italian people especially positano village people.
My entire stay with the same routine, woke up in the morning, had a cup of cappucino, walking to the beach, had lunch at small cafe on the cliffside, relaxing at the beach again.
Amalfi coast always have a special place in my heart. Hopefully i had a chance to explore more on this coast in my next visit.
Ciao Positano!!

Magically suspended between the blue sky and the iridescent colored sea, the Amalfi coast seems to be born from the palette of a painter who wanted to use the warmer color gradients for creating a landscape that enchants the visitor at the first shot, giving thrilling experience and such evocative view to doubt, for a moment, it is real. It is the land where the sweet scent of lemon blossoms harmonizes itself with the most aromatic one of the Mediterranean vegetation and the acrid aroma of saltiness; where the brilliant colors of the majolica domes, bougainvillea and carnations pergolas give an evident colored touch to the typical whitewashed houses, clinging to the last offshoots of the Lattari Mounts that plunge dramatically into the sea. A vertical landscape, in short, characterized by a picturesque labyrinth of stairways and narrow alleys, connecting the two main elements of this landscape: the mountains and the sea. A continuous succession of headlands and inlets, bays and fjords, interspersed with pebbled beaches and rocks on which you can still see the ancient viceregal towers, the first bulwark of the local population against the Saracen attacks. The shift from the sea to mountain is seamless: the mountain sides were terraced over the centuries, shaped by human labor to create flaps of arable land and already compared, during the Renaissance period, to the legendary Hesperides by the Italian writer and naturalist Giambattista Della Porta. All the towns of the Amalfi coast are connected by the scenic SS. 163 road, built in the first half of the XIX century during the Bourbon period and always considered one of the most beautiful road in Italy. Following the natural course of the coastline, the route is full of curves, nestled between the rock and the sea cliffs, giving new and spectacular shots at the exit of every tunnel or hairpin bend.

Ravello is one of the most charming towns on the Amalfi Coast. It offers some of the best views of the famous coastline, with sweeping seascapes and breathtaking scenery. It is, in short, an ideal location. While the origins of Ravello date back to the Roman era, it was the Middle Ages that gave it wealth and status, when the inhabitants were involved in maritime trade with the Orient. The newly enriched families of that age built castles, villas, churches and civic buildings to show off their wealth and to rival their richer, influential neighbor town of Amalfi. Amalfitans gave Ravello the name, "Rebellum" (rebel).
The town's villas offer vivid vantage points for the views. Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo are famous for their encompassing panoramas. Villa Rufolo inspired the composer Wagner when he wrote his famed opera, Parsifal. Ravello is still known for its musical events, including the Ravello Festival, which is strongly connected to the composer and his symphonies. The town boasts its cultural roots, too; just stroll the alleyways, enjoy the architecture and piazzas to see the town's history and pride at its best.
The Cathedral, dedicated to San Pantaleo, was inaugurated in 1087. The simple facade hides a lovely church with a grand 12th century entry doors and a pulpit plopped atop six spiral columns. The cathedral's museum houses sculpture and art dating back to Roman and Medieval times. Ravello is home to the fascinating little Coral Museum of Ravello, a showcase of craftsmanship in the art of the coral jewelry and decoration. The town is noted for its devotional chapels and votives that are attached to and painted on walls all over the city. Look for them as you wander the streets.
A recommended tour is to take the bus uphill, then walk back downhill to Amalfi. There's a nice path alongside a stream between Amalfi and Ravello and it is well signed on the maps. Have lunch in Ravello and then walk off the pasta on the pathway!

Head to the town of Furore, located in the Campania region of Italy, right in the middle of the Amalfi Coast, where a gigantic fjord opens to create its very own hidden beach!
Enjoying the picturesque Amalfi Coast views of Positano in an Italian summer from the stunning rooftop of Villa Franca.
I've been dreaming of Positano since I first created my Instagram. I saw photos of captivating landscapes and enchanting towns that have long inspired film-makers. With its dramatic scenery and stark beauty the journey on Amalfi coast is worth an Oscar itself, so don your shades and your headscarf, and explore this place in a gleaming vintage car and snap through the most Instagram worthy spots in existence.
One of the main reasons to visit Amalfi coast is the Positano beach. Unbelievably beautiful. The neighbouring villages in cliffsides with hundreds of the lined umbrellas on the beach below make it a sight impossible to forget. Go here both daytime and night time.
The Amalfi coast what Italy is all about: amazing food, warm temperatures, beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. What more can you ask for?

Amalfi Coast
#europetrip -- About place:
For me it was one of the beautiful places in the Italy, all Coast looks exciting. I can say that you can skip Amalfi city, when people said that Amalfi is excellent they mean Amalfi Coast, not Amalfi City. Amalfi sity is still really beautiful, but there are other cities which are more beautiful, for example Positano.
-- About travel:
If you would like to visit the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento I highly recommend to use Ferry (or private boat), in case of stormy weather there is only buses or taxis (in that case it is better to travel in the early morning).
Amalfi from Italy 🇮🇹 cheerful living here
#europetrip
Dear friends, Italy really focuses on a comprehensiv e "beauty without blind spots"
especially Amalfi 🌈
which has been wildly cultivated by pictures recently.
It is indeed one of the recommended attractions by National Geographic. Although Italy has many coastlin es, there is really no other place that can captivate me at first glance except for it. I can't imagine living here would be cheerful~
If you think it's just the beautiful coastline of Italy 🇮🇹 , then you're shallow because it's also one of the natural heritage sites. Not only does it have magnificent sea views, but it also has beautiful 😍 towns and southern specialty cuisine. Most people consider it an unavoidable destination for couples on vacation or honeymoon because its synonym is romance; However, its coastline is quite winding, with only one land route (40km long)
📍What can I see in the small town? In addition to the sea view, it is also the main building and central area of this small town: the cathedral ⛪️, located on dozens of steps, can be seen from afar when entering from the sea 🌊 , and the church bell tower stands tall, which is also an indispensable part of taking photos 📸 and checking in; Next to the church is the Heavenly Abbey. Continuing up the main road of the church square for less than 5 minutes, you will see a small fountain pool on the roadside. Continuing forward, you can also visit the paper museum; Although there are not many cultural attractions, they are still enough for you to play for a long time
Amalfi Coast
#europetrip Absolutely stunning views. There was absolutely no shortage of sweeping vistas and jaw dropping viewpoints. The only drawback of this terrain was that it pushed all of the crowds into much more confined areas, but we didn’t struggle to find our own secluded places scattered throughout the coast. The most popular places like Positano were still worth it, they’re popular for a reason!
The Amalfi Coast summons the essence of Mediterranean summers with its lemons
🇮🇹: Italy
🗺️【Itinerary】
Amalfi Coast: Amalfi➠Positano➠Sorrento
📍【Coordinates】
🍋: (Costiera Amalfitana)
Located on a stretch of coastline in southern Italy. Known for its rugged terrain, picturesque scenery, and the uniqueness and diversity of its towns, it has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is also named as one of the '51 places to go in a lifetime' by National Geographic magazine.
🍋: Amalfi (Amalfi)
A small town in the Gulf of Amalfi, it is the origin of the name of the Amalfi Coast and is known locally as the 'Pearl of the Mediterranean'. The town, filled with the scent of lemons, is a famous honeymoon destination.
🍋: Positano
Legend has it that pirates stole a statue of the Virgin Mary from Byzantium and, while passing through this area, encountered sudden changes in weather with storms and heard the statue repeatedly saying 'Put me down'. To avoid divine retribution, the pirates placed the statue on the nearest coast, which is how Positano got its name, derived from the Virgin's words 'put down', and hence it is also known as 'the land chosen by God'.
Here, there are colorful towns nestled like jewels on the slopes of the cliffs and the Mediterranean scenery with the fragrance of lemons. Many celebrities such as Picasso, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, and the Prince of Naples have lingered here and even built homes. Therefore, many luxurious villas designed by famous designers are scattered throughout the rolling hills.
🍋: Sorrento (Sorrento)
Located on the north coast of the Sorrento Peninsula, built on the cliffs, facing the Bay of Naples, it is known as the 'Jewel of the Bay of Naples'.
🏨【Accommodation】
Sorrento B&B: Sorrento is a must-pass for those traveling from Naples to the Amalfi Coast and also has a port for Capri Island. Compared to other towns, the prices are more cost-effective. We stayed in Sorrento for our two-day seaside trip.
🚗【Transport】
Self-driving: The coastal route along the Amalfi Coast is quite narrow and many sections are next to seaside cliffs, which is a real test of the driver's skills and the determination not to be distracted by bikinis on the beach. Once again, thanks to the two veteran drivers who were responsible for driving during this trip to Italy! (For those who do not self-drive, there is also public transportation available)
📝【Tips】
①: The UV rays are strong by the sea, remember to apply sunscreen.
②: There are many pebbles by the sea, and there are many slopes to walk up and down in the towns, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
③: Recommended food: Pizza (Naples is the birthplace of pizza), lemon delicacies (lemon drinks, candies, Gelato, etc., all worth a try), seafood pasta, etc.
④: Related movies 'Under the Tuscan Sun', 'Miracle Moments: Italy Amalfi' and others
Blinding, isn't it? This is the Amalfi Coast in Italy
The Amalfi Coast of Italy. Not far south of Naples is this coast. One of the well-known towns here is Positano. Because it is a mountainous area, the locals have long built houses from the seaside to the top of the mountain in a terraced distribution. In ancient times, the mountains were used for grazing and farming, and the hillside would be covered with grape racks and lemon trees.
The bathing beaches and sunshine of Amalfi are quite famous. For those who are diligent, they will enjoy the scenery along the coast and also stroll into the town to switch to a different view. For the relatively lazy, they will be more fond of staying in a small inn on the mountain, soaking in the bathtub, and at the same time admiring the blue Mediterranean Sea outside, staying for half a day.
