One of the best places to go for sunset is Marina Barrage, from there you will be able to see the sunset with the city skyline. You can have a picnic on the well lawned grass or fly a kite there. I did some cycling along the waterway to explore and admire the area and it is simply amazing and fills me with awe at what Singapore has accomplished. You can easily assess it from gardens by the bay MRT station. Highly recommend for days with good weather and you just want somewhere to chill at. Bring your own mat, food and drinks as there’s no shops nearby to get them.

An afternoon spent at the Marina Barrage is an opportunity to observe a changing sky, especially beautiful over the iconic triple towers of Marina Bay Sands. Set up a picnic on the green patch or simply walk around for scenic snaps of sea or city skyline. This public space is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Best Night View of the Singapore Skyline
Marina Barrage is a fantastic place for some bonding time over a picnic. During good weather, the whole place is very breezy. Come during the late afternoon with your picnic mats, kites, family, friends and pets when it is cooler and watch the sun go down. The night view from here is amazing, you’ll get a beautiful view of the Singapore skyline. It gets pretty crowded during the weekends so come early to secure a good spot. There are ample are available downstairs and this venue is stroller and wheelchair friendly as there is a lift to head upstairs. Personally, I feel the best time to come is at night when things quieten down and to see the night view of Singapore. Come check this place out!

Fun at Marina Barrage
Sometimes, it is hard to think of places to bring the children out, especially when most fun places such as amusement parks are expensive in Singapore. You have to pay for admission even for museums. So, I found a good and free place to bring the kids out to soak some vitamin D.
The marina barrage is perfect as it provides you with amazing city views of Singapore. You can cycle or scoot at the parks or cycling trails near the barrage. Once at the top of barrage, throw your picnic mats out and do some people watching, kite flying and just enjoying the sun and time there.
This is like a bi monthly activity that I will do with my kids and parking is not an issue as there is a car park directly outside of the barrage. The kids will thank you for this lovely fun place.

Morning Walk/Cycling at Marina Barrage
📍8 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018951
One of the reservoirs in Singapore, Marina Barrage is formed by building a dam across the rivers at Marina Channel. This also becomes the "bridge" in between and links Gardens by the Bay & The Bay East Garden together.
This forms a long stretch where one can walk or cycle at Marina Barrage and surroundings. It's also a nice scenic morning walk or cycle with the Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Flyer view. However, do note that there are no shades available at the "link bridge" and certain parts of the Marina Barrage, so do come earlier to avoid the heat and sun at the later part of the morning.
The Marina Barrage is also a place for flying kites, especially in the evening time when the sun is setting. Great for bringing your family for a nice weekend evening stroll and kite flying.

Dusk to Dawn at Marina Barrage
Getting to Marina Barrage is a breeze by taking the MRT and walk from the “Gardens by the Bay" station. Whilst this barrage provides the functional need of Singapore being self sufficient with its water supply, it has become a recreational area for flying kites and picnics. Also, check out the “Sustainable Singapore Gallery” to learn about Singapore’s endeavour towards a “clean and green environment.” Stay till sunset and take in the beautiful scenery.
Open Seas, Open Breeze at Marina Barrage

Fancy a picnic? Or just want to lay down under the dawn sky sun with sea breeze flirting with your hair?
Head down to Marina Barrage for the best seat of the (picnic) house for the Marina Bay area view📸 and behind you, the endless horizon of the open sea. fascinating with how still the water is on the other side of the dam, and on the open seas you can clearly see that the water have a lot of movement.
It’s a nice place to sit down, catch up with your friends and family, or simply just catch up on your reading.

Now you can take the TEL Thomson East Coast Line and alight at Gardens by the Bay which is nearer to Marina Barrage than the Flower Dome area. Over here, you can visit the PUB, which is a water catchment area and the biggest in Singapore. This is an important reservoir in Singapore and an integrated park for recreation too. It is a great place to hang out and you also can see many kite flying in the skies. This park is open to the public and with the new MRT Line, it is so much easier to come here.

[Explore SG] Let’s Fly a Kite in Singapore
#singapore One of the best places to fly a kite in Singapore has got to be Marina Barrage. The elevated ground and vast grass patch come with a beautiful view of Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer.
Usually, you’d have to run along to get the kite up, but it’s so windy here, you can just stand where you are and unroll the string for the kite to fly into the sky on its own. I could even sit down at one point while the kite continued to get pushed up by the wind. What an exhilarating experience.
Highly recommended for you to bring your friends and family along for a picnic here, but remember to slap on the sunscreen and bring your shades!

The gallery is located at level 2 of the place. The nearest mrt station is the gardens by the bay station located at the brown line. Avoid coming here during lunch time as the gallery will be closed.
