Trip Moments Recommendations
#West Island Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Just got back from Sanya, and I want to rant about the current situation in Sanya!
1. The recent weather in Sanya has really been quite average. Although it doesn't rain and there's sun at noon, it's always cloudy in the morning and afternoon, and the foggy weather really affects the experience of seeing the glass sea!
2. Sanya is not big, there's no subway, but the buses are quite convenient. They go to every tourist spot, so remember to do your research on the attractions before you go!
3. Accommodations in Sanya are mainly distributed across four bays. If you want to stay in high-end hotels and experience a holiday vibe, go to Haitang Bay; hotels in Yalong Bay offer luxury sea view rooms; if you're on a budget, Dadonghai and Yalong Bay are close to the city center, with convenient transportation and easy access to food and entertainment!
5. If you're short on time, visiting either West Island or Wuzhizhou Island is enough. You can see the glass sea and enjoy the scenery of the small islands; go to West Island if you want to experience local customs and slow life, or choose Wuzhizhou Island for water sports!
6. Don't navigate directly to Yemeng Gallery, as it's 20 kilometers long. The point you reach by direct navigation is usually crowded, making it hard to take good photos. Navigate to Haiyun Hotel instead, where there's a large lawn, perfect for taking great photos on a sunny day and watching a stunning sunset!
7. Head out early to Nanshan Temple to easily find a parking spot and avoid the crowds. Besides seeing the 108-meter-tall sea-based Guanyin statue, you can also touch Buddha's feet, draw fortune sticks, copy scriptures for blessings, and get stamped. There are places in the scenic area where you can get free incense, and you must not wear revealing clothes!
10. Sanya's attractions are quite scattered, and the distances across bays are large. If you happen to be with a group of friends, renting a car for a self-driving tour is more experiential. Be sure to rent from a reputable platform and take a video of the car's condition before renting!
11. Visit the duty-free shop in the morning, you can start shopping when it opens at 10 am. It gets crowded in the afternoon, and you may have to queue for some popular brands!
8. There are many night markets in Sanya, and they are all pretty similar. Visit the one closest to you; if you're staying in Sanya Bay or Dadonghai, you can visit the First Market Night Market and Yiheng Night Market; if you're in Yalong Bay, you can visit Bohou Village Night Market, and if you're in Haitang Bay, Linwang Night Market is the place to go!
9. I don't recommend eating seafood at the night market, but the snacks are worth it! There are quite a few special foods in Sanya, and the ones I found tasty include Xiaobai's Oriental Roast Suckling Pig, Yanjiang Hainan Cuisine, Buzaike Seafood, and Qionger Zao Vinegar Coconut Chicken!
10. For local souvenirs, you can go to the supermarket at Shengli Square, which offers a wide selection and is reliable and affordable. For fruits, try Xinhong Port or the First Market, and don't be shy to bargain. Good vendors will offer you wholesale prices. For shipping, I suggest choosing the less ripe ones!
Sanya Travel Guide
I've been in Sanya for six days and here are my honest recommendations based on personal experience|||1: If it's your first time in Sanya, don't plan your itinerary too full. Visiting 2-3 attractions a day is enough, otherwise it's too tiring!
2: Choose either Yalong Bay Paradise Forest Park or Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone; West Island or Wuzhizhou Island, they are similar.
3: Don't bring too much luggage to the duty-free shop. If you do, don't keep carrying it around. There's a free luggage storage on the 3rd floor of Area A in the duty-free shop. It's recommended to store your luggage first for a more relaxed shopping experience.
4: If you want to try diving and sea activities, I recommend going to Yalong Bay. There's a package for 598 yuan, which I personally tried. It's a great value for money, including private car transfer, seafood lunch, and unlimited photos.
5: Learn to bargain when letting wild photographers take pictures on the beach, you might get an unexpected price.
6: I don't recommend diving in Wuzhizhou Island. During the peak season, you have to queue for an hour for a 10-minute experience. It's not recommended to play the projects, they are expensive. Just take some pictures and check in is enough.
7: Don't go diving/sea activities in Dadonghai, the water quality there is the worst. It's recommended to go to Yalong Bay, the water quality is very good.
8: Don't rent a small electric donkey to check in at the attractions just to save money. It's super sunny and tiring. Try to choose bus + car rental for check-in, especially in summer, avoiding heat and sun protection is the first priority.
9: Don't go to the toilet alone, and don't pay attention to people who take the initiative to talk to you, especially girls.
10: If you get seasick, don't rent a boat to go out to sea. If you go to Wuzhizhou, take seasickness medicine half an hour in advance, because it takes 30 minutes by boat to really get to Wuzhizhou Island.
11: Haichang Fantasy City only opens at 4 pm. The main attraction is the Ferris wheel at night. It's worth a try, especially for couples! Must go!
12: Don't rely on taxis for the whole journey. The attractions in Sanya are scattered. Pure taxi expenses are huge. It's more recommended to choose a combination of taxi + bus + bus. Moderate choice of self-driving.
13: Don't take a black car near the airport! At least they will slaughter you 30+
14: Don't just ask passers-by for directions, most likely they are also tourists. Try to ask the shop owners on the street for directions. If you're shy, you can buy something.
15: Wear sports shoes/white shoes/anything is fine when going out. Wear slippers when going to the beach. Don't wear high heels, they're uncomfortable for your feet and you can't play in the water at any time.
16: Don't rent a small electric donkey to go to Coconut Dream Corridor during the day. It's too sunny and stuffy. You need to wear a helmet. It's best to go to Coconut Dream Corridor for a ride + sunset photos at 6-7 pm. Don't go too early.
17: Don't take a taxi to the duty-free shop. The location of Haitang Bay Duty Free Shop is very biased. The round trip taxi fare is 200+. You need to book a duty-free shop bus at the front desk of the cooperative hotel one day in advance. The round trip is free.
18: I personally don't recommend going to Sanya Romance Park. The tickets are expensive and not worth a second visit. You might as well go to Atlantis Water World, an ocean-themed amusement park! It's more fun than Sanya Romance Park.
19: Dadonghai is located in the city area, with convenient transportation + moderate prices + many check-in attractions, more suitable for students + budget travelers.
20: Yalong Bay has the best water quality, many sea view rooms and high cost performance, but the price is much higher than Sanya Bay and Dadonghai.
I hope this can help sisters who come to play in Sanya👭
West Coast, best coast?
West Island in Sanya was so fun to explore! So many little shops full of local trinkets and a seafood lovers dream as far as street food is cool concerned! Famous jellyfish cakes are a must try. Walking along the food street path with that view of the ocean is priceless. There are so many fun alleys and buildings to explore along the way. If you’re looking for a fun place to explore, this is it!
West Island moments
Beautiful place. Get to walk past a small street market. See all types of art, walk by the sea…there are many things like helicopter ride, diving, and just relaxing by the beach. Hotels are available if you want to stay if not your choice. Had a lovely time just as I arrived in Sanya. 🥰🥳🤌🏾🔥#WestIsland #beachvibes #fun #sanya
Sanya West Island is the place to be!
Oh wow! We arrived at the airport, then we started with the first island not far from the airport.
What an amazing time we had there. 💕💕
I just love it here.

Where photography is concerned, I know several well-kept secrets - all of which I'm going to share with you! On the West Island, there is a bookstore and lighthouse, both on the sea. On Niuwang Island, there is a graffiti wall at the intersection of Huanglong Street and Malin'er Alley. Sailboat Harbor and Jiqing Plaza sit on either side of Banshan Peninsula. The Coconut Dream Corridor encompasses a white church, a pink windmill, and bird's nest.
This island was definitely more for local tourism.. but we did find some cute Gems.
West Island is a long-established island of Sanya.
The island has been inhabited for a long time ago.
They live on fishing, with the sea as partners,
because it is very close to Sanya,
Slowly discovered by the world,
Later part of it was developed as a tourist island,
so West Island is an early development island.
The fishing village of West Island, the undeveloped place on this island,
The island is very characteristic,
The wall outside the house entrance hall is actually the sea shell coral culture Cheng,
had to marvel at the craftsmanship of the local craftsmen.
playing notes:
1. The day of the trip is just a big storm. On board the ship, except for us, there are almost no tourists. The staff informed that because the wind and waves are large, we need to wait for the waves to be small and sail in the island. However, this is waiting for two hours. During the period, tourists will continue to board the ship until the moment when the tourists are full, but it is really because the wind is too big to sail, or because tourists Too little, no boating! Moreover, each cruise ship does not have a clear time interval and departure time.
2. If you want to play water projects, you can come to West Island to try, but just want to see the sea, you may wish to go directly to Sanya Bay, Xiaodonghai, Yalong Bay.
tips
Many tourists who visit Sanya will go to Wuzhizhou Island, but not many people are familiar with West Island. It is located in Tianya District of Sanya City near the city centre. The scenery is beautiful. The island does not have much traffic and the small fishing village has been visited by many artists, eventually becoming known as a literary sacred place. This place is very suitable for taking pictures. It can even rival Gulangyu Island in Xiamen. Have you been here?
West Island is a maritime island in Sanya. A ferry ride that lasts 30 minutes will get you there. In addition to the sea entertainment and the beautiful sea views, Xidao Fishing Village is also a great place to find the simpler folk traditions, capture the most primitive fishing style of the village and feel the most rustic vibes of the fishermen. The young ones play and fish in the sea while the older folks watch their children and grandchildren. This is the most memorable scene of our trip to the fishing village in the West Island.
Just returned from Xi Dao with a pure dry goods nanny-level guide for photo spots
Hello, I am Ma Yuaner who loves traveling and photography~
The off-season in Sanya is really amazing. I spent two days and one night on Xi Dao, and here is a nanny-level guide from Xi Dao for you to sign for💙
🌊🌸🍃
1⃣How to get to the island💙
⛴【Ferry Ticket】
Book online one day in advance, 💰95/person
Tickets can only be used after 1 hour, remember to buy in advance!
Navigation: Xiaoqi Port Terminal, taking a taxi will get you to the ferry terminal, if driving, park your car at the terminal, there are plenty of parking spaces.
2⃣Ferry Schedule💙
⏰8:00~18:00
If you're not staying on the island, it's recommended to go early in the morning, it gets crowded later and you'll have to queue.
After 16:00 is the peak time for leaving the island, during peak season you'll have to queue for at least 30min!
There's a ferry every 20min, plan your time accordingly.
The ferry ride takes 15-20 minutes, it's not bumpy in good weather, the ferry is large with plenty of seats, overall comfortable, suitable for the elderly and children, and pets are allowed.
3⃣Island Transportation💙
🚌Sightseeing buses come in two types
✅35 yuan, right opposite the tourist center, only stops at Niuwang Ridge.
✅25 yuan, Line 1/2 with multiple stops, unlimited rides for the day. 📍: Get off at the winter tourist center→walk directly to the summer tourist center→continue towards the fishing village tourist center→the opposite of the internet-famous coral wall is where you board
🛵Electric Scooter
30-80 per day, negotiable. If you can't ride, electric tricycles are also available.
4⃣Photo Check-in Spots💙
✅Coral wall at the entrance of the fishing village
✅Reef beach near Niuwang Ridge
✅Heart wall inside the fishing village
✅Sea library in the fishing village
✅Every path in the fishing village leading to the sea
✅The lonely tree opposite the fishing village (police station)
✅The entrance of Xi Dao Stone House Inn
✅The beach after disembarking
5⃣Island Dining💙
If you want to eat pickled fish, 'Nanhai Fish Uncle' is recommended, the taste is okay, but the price is a bit high. For students and couples, 'Amin Snack' opposite is more recommended, tasty and cheap, the seafood is very fresh. Next to these two is a milk tea shop 'Coconut Island', with Laotian iced coffee, the decoration card on the straw saying 'My Xi Dao, no time to miss you' is very cute~
6⃣Photo Storage Goodies
Every time I go out to travel, I can take a lot of beautiful photos, and my camera's memory card fills up quickly, so carrying a portable solid-state drive is necessary, allowing me to back up photos at any time. I got a 1TB large-capacity PSSD, with a matte rose gold color that is exquisite and high-end, really matching my aesthetics~
The read speed is up to 2050MB/s, and the actual transfer is indeed very fast! Type-C to Type-C/A 2-in-1 cable, even my phone can be directly connected for backup, compact and portable with a high aesthetic value, I'm no longer afraid of running out of space on my camera and phone when I go out to take good photos. Plus, it comes with software that can be downloaded to the computer for use, supporting AI album, data encryption, one-click backup, and other functions. The AI album feature feels great! It can automatically categorize my photos by elements like people, group photos, footprints, scenes, etc., and I can quickly find the photos I want through keyword search.
Time flies, and I want to record countless beautiful sceneries and wonderful moments in the simplest way... I will capture every frame and keep it in my mind, backed up on my portable solid-state drive~
💙tips:
Be sure to go on a sunny day, otherwise it's a wasted trip!!! There are many homestays in the fishing village, if you have enough time, you can stay on the island for one night, slowly stroll, eat, and take photos. The island is very sunny, be sure to pay attention to sun protection, it's best to bring a sun umbrella, the internet-famous coral wall is crowded with people taking photos, if you're in a hurry, go early to queue up.
Why didn't anyone tell me that this is how to play in Sanya
Who says you can't go to Sanya when it's hot? At this time, Sanya doesn't have high-priced accommodations, and you can have a blast playing by the seaside every day!
🌵Day1:
After landing, you can stay in Sanya Bay, which is close to the airport.
You must visit 🙏Nanshan Temple, there are tricks to taking photos at Nanshan Temple, so do some research before you go. In the afternoon, head to 🌲Yemeng Gallery, with its tens of kilometers of coastline lined with coconut trees, and watch the sunset. At night, go to the First Market to eat seafood, fried ice, and Qingbu Liang, I'll eat until I can't walk.
🌵Day2:
Xidao🦀️, a small fishing village in Sanya, where you can spend the whole day. If you're not staying on Xidao, go early to catch the boat, starting at 8 am when there are fewer people and it's cooler. Rent a small electric car in the fishing village, usually 20 yuan per hour, and renting for a morning is enough! There are many delicious foods in the fishing village, so have your lunch there, you can eat coconut chicken🐔, the chicken is tender and delicious. Niuwangling only has one convenience store and no place to eat. Niuwangling sea foraging, there are quite a few marine creatures in the shallows here. After 4 pm, leave the island, if you're tired, go to the night market, if not, you can go to 🦌Luhuitou to see Sanya's night view🌄.
🌵Day3:
Atlantis Water World, if you want to play in the water without being ripped off, come here! If the budget allows, stay here for one night, the biggest advantage of staying here is that you can play in the aquarium and water world unlimited times, perfectly avoiding the crowds. The hotel's private beach has a beautiful sunset🌄! Since it's in Haitang Bay, which is far from Sanya Bay, it's recommended to change hotels this day, you can choose to stay in the hotel or Yalong Bay.
🌵Day4:
Since you're in Haitang Bay, then take a trip to the cdf duty-free shop🛒, the largest duty-free shop in Sanya, much bigger than the Haitravel in the city. Be sure to find coupons, it will be much cheaper, buy the items with more points first, then use the points to offset the cash. After shopping, head to Yalong Bay, ✨Yalong Bay is after all the best bay in the world, the water is blue, and the sand is fine. At night, go to 🥥Liupan Village night market, there are so many delicious foods!
🌵Day5:
Tropical Forest Park, also in Yalong Bay, there are many attractions inside that charge a second fee, depending on personal needs. It's best to bring some food and drinks, as it's generally expensive inside, if you're with elderly or children, consider changing to a different scenic spot, as there's a lot of uphill walking. If you don't want to go there, you can go to 🔵Wuzhizhou Island, don't hesitate between it and Xidao, each has its own characteristics, Wuzhizhou Island's sea is the bluest.
Sanya's pace is slow, so let's slow down our pace, it's not recommended to keep changing scenic spots, several places in one day, Sanya is not suitable for that.🐳Sanya's South Sea Fish Uncle's pickled vinegar, Yelin Grandma's coconut chicken, Dongshan goat, mango mixed with chili🥭, these are all delicious, no tourist traps, everyone can try them!
When visiting Sanya's West Island, it's essential to plan ahead
Life advice! Don't miss West Island when traveling to Sanya.
Really, the water quality is just as good as Wuzhizhou Island, very clear and bright!
Here's a detailed travel guide I've put together for sisters who are visiting West Island for the first time, hope it helps~
✅Arriving at the Pier
📍Location: Xiaochi Port Wharf, Sanya Bay Road, Tianya District, Sanya City
🚌Bus: Take bus 16/32/57/26 and get off at West Island Station
🚗Self-driving: Navigate to West Island Xiaochi Port Wharf, there's a parking lot inside the tourist center, and the parking fee is very cheap, only 8 yuan/day
✅Opening Hours & Ticket Prices
💰Ticket: 98 yuan per adult, 49 yuan for the elderly and children, including round-trip ferry tickets
⚠️Tips: Be sure to buy tickets online at least 1 hour in advance, as you might not be able to get them last minute
⏱️Business Hours: 8:00—18:00 (recommended to go to the island before 16:00)
⏰Departure from the Island: 8:00—18:00, it's recommended to avoid the peak times of early 8 and late 6
🚢Ferry Schedule: About 15 minutes, with a ferry every 20 minutes
✅Island Activities
🔸Tour Route: After arriving on the island, first go to the left to reach the coral stone wall for a photo stop, then visit in order: Wooden Plank Love Wall → Fishing Village Pier → Sea Library → Coconut Palm Beach → Niuwang Ridge → Niuwang Island → Fishing Village Market → Coral House → Central Snack Street → Leave the Island
🔸Tourist Cars: There are 3 tourist car routes on the island, if you want to go to Niuwang Island, only lines 1️⃣ and 3️⃣ will take you there, line 2️⃣ does not go to Niuwang Island
🔸Electric Cars: You can also rent electric cars on the island, generally between 40-60 yuan/day, don't bother with anything more expensive, there are many cheaper options further into the village
✅Island Accommodation
🔸The cost-performance ratio of homestays on West Island is quite good, if you want to catch the sea or watch the sunset, consider staying on the island for a night, the atmosphere is quite nice
🔸It doesn't matter much where you stay, as West Island is not very large, just find a sea view room where you can see the sea
🔸Homestay prices range from 200-500 yuan, most are decently decorated, and are mostly newly built in recent years
✅Attraction Recommendations
🌴Summer Pier: Here you'll find the photogenic coral stone wall, pine forest + coral stone embankment paired with the azure sea, it looks good no matter how you photograph it!
🌴Wooden Plank Love Wall: A heart-shaped wall by the sea made of wooden planks, very photogenic
🌴Sea Library: A fishing boat docked at the return pier, converted into a cozy and atmospheric library
🌴Coral House: A century-old building, it has the feel of an ancient fishing village
🌴Niuwang Ridge Road: The most suitable place on the island to watch the sunset, great for silhouette photos
……

Sanya's West Island
The first time I visited West Island was the year before last. I spent the entire day on the island and reluctantly left on the last boat as dusk fell. Last year, I found an opportunity to stay on West Island for a few days, not only to see the healing seascape again but also to experience the different, vibrant life of the island.

⏰ Business hours 08:00~18:00 (entry stops at 16:00)
🛵 About renting an electric scooter:
The island is not big, if you are short on time, it is recommended to rent a 'little donkey' in the fishing village for convenience and to save effort, located at a place called the Accommodation Reception Area (if you really don't know, just navigate to Wanfu Rongsheng Life Supermarket, there will be many people asking if you want to rent a car! They generally ask for 20 per hour, it doesn't matter which one you choose, the most important thing is to bargain hard! Always wear a helmet when riding, safety first!!
📷 About taking photos:
1⃣ Love Heart Wall (Picture 3): Originally located along the coral wall by the seaside, the Love Heart Wall is at the right-hand side junction a few hundred meters away, now the wooden Love Heart Wall has been dismantled and moved inside the fishing village, near the old coral houses
2⃣ Trendy Grocery Store (Picture 4): You will see it after turning left upon landing on the island, at 20 West Island Seaside Road
3⃣ Potted Fishing Boat (Picture 5): At the second intersection of Seaside Road, I don't remember which alley specifically, but there is a signpost to look for~
4⃣ That Beautiful Tree (Picture 6): Near the police station beach, pass by the Sea Library and keep walking, when you see a few abandoned fishing boats, you've arrived
5⃣ Coral Wall (Picture 7): Located approximately at the entrance of the fishing village, that is, after landing on the island, walk forward to the left for about 2-300m
6⃣ Sea Library (Picture 8): The fishing boat moored next to the return port, which has been converted into a library inside
7⃣ Wooden Walkway Sign (Picture 9): On the wooden walkway on the way to Niuwangling, this sign can give you the feeling of a Thai summer
8⃣ Faraway Inn (Picture 10): Not by the seaside, you need to walk inside a bit, passing through the fishing village market, if all else fails, navigate to Shiwu Homestay
9⃣ Fishing Boat (Picture 11): Walk forward after checking in at the Sea Library, to check in at the fishing boat
🔟 Lighthouse (Picture 12): Keep walking towards the sea from the fishing village pier and you will see it
🍛 About eating:
You can dine directly in the fishing village, with refreshing herbal jelly, grilled squid, shrimp cakes, all tasting good and reasonably priced. If you're not only visiting West Island in Sanya, and have time, you can dine in Sanya city to try local specialties, recommended restaurants include Qiong Er Zao Po Vinegar Coconut Chicken, Yanjiang Hainan Cuisine, Xiao Bai's Eastern Roast Suckling Pig, Buzaike Seafood, etc., recommended snacks include A Fang's Dad Tea, Colorful Story, Tang Laopu Herbal Jelly, Hejia Yue, Fei Fei Fried Shrimp Cakes, Rongxin Guest Skewers, Ju Li Pickles, Wen Ma Hou'an Noodles, Jun Rui Lingshui Sour Noodles, etc.
Tips:
1. The UV rays on the island are very strong, especially at noon, so it's super sunny, so make sure to do your sun protection! Bring hats, cooling sleeves, umbrellas, sun protection clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen!
2. If you don't want to be exposed to the sun all the time and don't rent a little electric donkey, you can take the free electric bus (marked with routes 1, 2, 3) Route 1 to tour the fishing village, Route 3 to enjoy the scenery along Niuwangling, as long as there are seats, you can stop on demand!
3. If you choose to rent a little donkey, you can ride it around the island to take a look, and then go around a second time, stopping at places of interest to take photos and play.
4. Try to go early in the morning, it's not so sunny and there are fewer people taking photos, no need to queue!
5. It takes 15min by boat to get to the island, the boat ride is quite thrilling, friends who get seasick remember to prepare seasickness medicine in advance!
6. Although it's very sunny on the island, the sunshine is abundant, and on a clear day, it's super easy to take good photos, the sea water under the sun will be very blue, very healing!
7. Lastly, if you have enough time, you can choose to stay on the island for one night, the next day you can go to Niuwangling to watch the sunrise + catch the sea, stroll slowly, and better experience the life of the fishermen here!
8. Also, the last boat back is around 6 pm, friends who are in a hurry pay attention not to miss it~
Life advice: Visit these places before you leave Hainan!!!
Hainan locals' hidden gems, I don't usually tell people about them!
✅ Wanning
📍Riyue Bay

Are you all notified about coming to Sanya in December?
Are you all notified about coming to Sanya in December?
Coming to Sanya, of course, you have to prepare the travel guide in advance to avoid pitfalls and have fun! Personally tested summary, hope it can help you~
🚌Transportation:
1. There are many illegal taxis at the airport, do not take them! Queue for a taxi or go directly to the parking lot opposite to take a ride-hailing car
2. The attractions in Sanya are too far apart, taxis are expensive, but buses are very convenient, there are buses to each attraction
3. Sanya does not have a subway, but there is a sightseeing tram from Guogou to the high-speed train station, which is less crowded, spacious, and quite comfortable
4. There are many motorcycles, which can be an option during traffic jams, remember to bargain with the driver and wear a helmet
5. There are many pitfalls in renting a car, I don't really recommend it unless you want to drive around the island
🏨Accommodation:
1. Sanya has entered the peak season, be sure to book accommodation in advance, it's easy to run out of rooms if you book on arrival
2. Compare three, look at the real reviews left by netizens, don't just look at the pictures, it's easy to be 'photo deceived'
3. Sanya Bay and Dadonghai are closer to the city center and have convenient transportation. Yalong Bay and Haitang Bay have many hotels and are suitable for vacations
🏄🏻♀️Sightseeing:
1. Both West Island and Wuzhizhou Island are islands for sea viewing and playing, you can just visit one of them, I went to West Island and it was quite nice, with a strong atmosphere of a small fishing village
2. Houhai Village is too hyped on social media, the environment is actually average, but it's still okay for surfing
3. Nanshan Tourism Zone is very large, don't just go to see the Guanyin statue, you can also visit the Wealth God Temple, Nanshan Bieyuan to draw lots, and the Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall to make wishes, you need to buy a ticket for the small train, otherwise, your feet will be worn out
4. Tianya Town is very photogenic, but only the row by the sea is worth taking pictures of, it's far from the city center, it's not necessary to make a special trip unless you live nearby
5. The Coconut Dream Corridor is really long, 20 kilometers, don't directly navigate to 'Coconut Dream Corridor', if you want to see the sunset navigate to 'Haiyue Square', if you want to take portraits navigate to 'Haiyun Hotel', if you want to catch the sea navigate to 'Beautiful New Coast'
6. Yalong Bay Forest Park is not very suitable for families, the park is very large, you need to climb mountains and cross bridges, it's tiring
🛍Shopping:
1. Don't buy specialties in the scenic area, the supermarkets in the city like Wanghao Supermarket and Womei Supermarket are more cost-effective
2. For fruits, go to Xinhonggang Market, it's cheaper after 7 pm
3. The fruits sold by roadside vendors are not expensive but they shortchange on weight, some are even soaked in sugar water, don't buy
4. You must go to the duty-free shop in advance, otherwise, there won't be enough time for distribution and you won't be able to buy
5. There are four duty-free shops in Sanya, if you don't know which one to go to, just go to the CDF International Duty-Free City in Haitang Bay, it's more comprehensive
6. If you already have a target, go to Haitravel or Zhongfu for iPhone15, Haitravel for cosmetics, and Zhongfu for gold
7. The crafts at night markets and scenic spots are too overpriced, like pearls, bracelets, etc., if you're not in a hurry, you can search for the same items online
😋Food:
To be honest, there are quite a lot of delicious foods in Sanya, even I, an outsider, find them very appetizing
1️⃣ In Hainan, you must eat chicken, there's a local saying 'Go to Sanya to see the sea, eat chicken in Yanjiang', Yanjiang Hainan Cuisine Yalong Bay's Intangible Cultural Heritage Double Chicken is really good! It's something you can't eat anywhere else! Must try
2️⃣ Of course, you also need to eat seafood, the two seafood restaurants I went to are very reliable, the seafood is freshly caught and cooked, you can see the freshness. If you want to eat seafood while watching the sea, go to Buzaike Seafood in Dadonghai, if you want to experience the local life of Sanya, go to Train Head's Haiwei Chanshi Seafood, both are great!
3️⃣ The local hotpot is also a must-try, Qiong Er Zao Cu·Coconut Chicken Hotpot Restaurant is very good, you can eat two kinds of special hotpot at once, whatever you want to dip
4️⃣ There's also a local specialty food that is a must-visit, Xiao Bai's Eastern Roast Suckling Pig has won awards, the freshly roasted suckling pig has crispy skin and tender meat, it's not greasy at all, and tastes even more special with sugar~
5️⃣ Various snacks: Yacheng stinky tofu, Lingshui sour noodles, pickled Baoluo powder, colorful cake, colorful shrimp, fried chicken wings, Hainan skewers, rice mush... also too numerous to mention, be sure to try them all if you have time!
Spring is in the air, exploring the beauty of Wanning in Hainan
I went to Wanning with my parents a few years ago and found it quite comfortable and pleasant to stay in.😌😌
Just finished exams, and my friends and I wanted to go out and have fun without going to crowded places. We thought Wanning would be perfect for a few days of relaxation. We organized a private group tour, with hotel and transportation all arranged. It was very free; when tired, we just lay in the hotel eating and drinking water🥥, and running or walking by the seaside🌊 with the sea breeze was also amazing.
Below are some of my genuine thoughts, hoping to help everyone👌
—————————
Wanning only has a train station, no airport. You need to land in Haikou or Sanya by plane and then transfer to a train to get there.🚈
Be sure to take good sun protection measures, as the UV rays at the beach are strong.
The round-trip ferry ticket to Sanya's West Island is only 98 yuan, and you can book a tour bus around the island in advance online, or rent a small electric car on the island for a tour.
Corona Sunset Bar is located in Wanning's Shenzhou Peninsula, a very popular beach bar. You only need to buy a bottle of Corona beer for 38 yuan to take photos📷, which are very photogenic.
During the trip, we spent one night at the Fenjiezhou Island Fishing Club, which is also very photogenic. When you go there, check if there are rooms available; if the price is right, go for it.
Sanya's West Island is a must-visit spot for Instagram-worthy photos. You can buy a coconut to take pictures with, which is very characteristic. The island's residents are also very hospitable, with century-old houses, and walking by the seaside is very comfortable.🌊
The photos from Shimei Bay are straight out of the camera, and when the weather is good, no filter is needed to capture beautiful pictures. The sunrise at the Sunac Chapel is also an excellent shooting spot; it's recommended to get up early to see it.
GROM surf shop is a very comfortable place where you can order a drink and sit there in a daze. The large glass window at the entrance is also a great spot for photos. The road leading to the lighthouse is also beautiful, offering a great view of the sunset.
Xiehou Seafood Restaurant's secret golden crab is very famous, and you must try it! Panlong sea eel and grilled Arctic shellfish are also very fresh and delicious.
Lao Qiongzhou Maple Duck is also a must-try restaurant, with very fresh duck meat and generous portions. The colorful cake and coconut rice are also delicious.
Taiqiong century-old Zaozao vinegar hotpot has a very appetizing vinegar soup base, and you can drink the soup continuously for three bowls! The farmer's Dongshan goat coconut chicken has no gamey taste, tastes very fragrant and glutinous, and includes tofu skin and radish, which is delicious. Overall, these are all good food recommendations, and I hope everyone will like them too!
To get these photos, I made a special trip to Hainan
hi~ I'm Valley
Because I love the sea, at the beginning of March, my friends and I went on a spontaneous Hainan island self-driving tour, from Haikou to Sanya, stopping along the way to experience the rich island style

Sanya's West Island is truly beautiful

Navigation: Simply navigate to Sanya West Island, and you will see a parking lot, just find a spot to park. Ticket Price: 95 (includes admission and ferry ticket)

West Island requires taking a boat, but the boats are quite large, so seasickness is unlikely, and there is no need to take seasickness medicine in advance.
West Island Transportation:
There are scenic area tour buses, 25/person, buy tickets opposite the coral wall, you can get on and off at any stop.
There are small electric cars, many shops along the road rent out small electric cars, remember to bargain, and before renting an electric car, make sure to confirm the return time and location, and wear a helmet when riding.

Seaside Road, when the weather is good, casual photos are very beautiful.
There are many more attractions, etc., it is recommended to experience them personally.
Sanya West Island Travel Tips and Sharing:
If you are carrying luggage, go straight after disembarking to find the tourist center, where you can store your luggage on the second floor, but there is a fee.
The beach chairs at the Seaside Bathing Beach are for a fee, but no one is around at night.
The sand on the beaches of Sanya West Island is quite fine, but there are also many coral stones, it is advised not to walk barefoot on the beach. Bull King Ridge is really beautiful, and it's not tiring to climb.
If you're not staying overnight, playing for half a day is about enough, if you're staying on the island, it's better to go to the island after 4 pm, but if you plan to watch the sunset, go earlier.
Since there is a fishing village on the island, there are residents living there, so there is a market, a primary school, a police station, and many convenience stores, so there is no need to bring food and drinks to the island.
There is not much to do on West Island at night, no bars, it's only lively during the day.
If you plan to go sea foraging, there are many tools available for purchase on the island.
Tips:
When the weather is good, Sanya West Island is really beautiful.
Life advice, when you come to Sanya, you must take your children to visit Xi Island
Life advice, when strolling around Sanya, you definitely need to bring your children to Xi Island🤔. Here you can find the glass sea that is not present in Sanya Bay, Haitang Bay, or Yalong Bay, and it's not as far as the Sanya Wuzhizhou Island tourist area. There is direct bus service from the city, which is especially convenient.
💟Ticket🎫:
Xi Island is an offshore islet, no entrance fee is required, but you need to purchase a round-trip boat ticket for 98r. Remember❗ to buy it at least 1 hour in advance, otherwise, you won't be able to use it❗ Children under 1.2m, seniors over 70 years old, and disabled persons can get free tickets. However, you need to exchange tickets at the window in advance❗ The last boat leaving the island🚢 is at 18:00, so make sure to queue up early. There really are a lot of people! We spent over two hours just queuing up to board the boat on the weekend.
💟Transportation:
1⃣️ Sightseeing bus: Costs 35r if bought separately, goes directly from the dock to Niuwang Island without stopping, not recommended as you'll miss the scenery along the way.
2⃣️ Line 1.2 sightseeing bus: Buy for 25r at the tourist center, you can stop along the way, which is convenient.
3⃣️ Islander electric carts: The most common mode of transportation on the island, you can bargain, and 30r can get you unlimited time, suitable for a family of three to ride around the island.
4⃣️ Islander electric tricycles: You can also bargain for these.
💟How to play:
1⃣️ I don't think it's necessary to follow the internet celebrities and rush through the hot spots, which are just places for taking photos. Let's just go with the flow, sit by the sea, and play in the water (if you bring kids, remember to bring a change of clothes for them). You can try the fish spa, 68r for 30 minutes, kids will definitely love it. You can stroll around the food street and the sea library - the library is actually a converted old boat, where you can handwrite postcards and mail them for 15r, quite interesting. Walking along the seaside, you'll see fishing and fish-catching boats. There's also a museum and a market on the island that you can visit.
2⃣️ Water activities: Xi Island offers a variety of water activities, such as snorkeling, helicopter rides🚁, flying dragons, parasailing, jet skiing, etc., and there are quite a few people participating, though the prices are a bit expensive.
💟What to eat:
Commercialization on the island is not too severe, and the prices are reasonable. There are quite a few options on the food street, but they are more or less the same - shrimp cakes, rice noodles, seafood, coconut chicken, etc.
Hainan during the off-peak season must be the ideal place on earth, right?
The scene of facing the sea with spring blossoms actually exists.
Hi~ This is Yunzi☁️
As a native Hainanese
If you ask me what season is suitable for visiting Hainan, China
It would definitely be March to April.
【Why?】
1️⃣ The temperature is neither cold nor hot, with an average temperature of 20-30 degrees, which is very comfortable.
2️⃣ It's the off-peak season for tourism. After the crowded Spring Festival, Hainan returns to its former tranquility. The prices for flights and hotels, as well as other aspects, have significantly decreased.
-
【How to play?】
I've organized a 3-day and 2-night tour of Sanya for everyone, take note!
DAY1️⃣: Coconut Dream Corridor - Tianya Town - First Market (eat seafood)
On the first day, after settling down at a leisurely pace, go to the Coconut Dream Corridor or Tianya Town to watch a beautiful sunset, and then taste a big meal of Hainan seafood.
DAY2️⃣: Island tour for one day (choose between West Island or Wuzhizhou Island)
The must-visit islands in Sanya, both islands have very clear water. If you like the original fishing village, go to West Island; if you prefer commercialized mature tour projects, go to Wuzhizhou Island.
DAY3️⃣: Haitang Bay - Sanya International Duty-Free City
A shopping paradise that all the Liu Yifeis coming to Sanya won't miss. The sea at Haitang Bay is also very beautiful. Just make sure to prepare your ID card and off-island transportation information in advance.
-
【Where to stay?】
This time I stayed with friends at the , which is close to the duty-free shop. It's convenient to stay here on the last day of leaving the island for shopping. The minimalist style of the hotel combined with Moroccan architectural elements is very eye-catching. Outside the hotel is a mango forest, and the spiral staircase and infinity pool are also great places for taking photos and checking in. You can really take great photos without leaving the house!
-
【What to eat?】
Coconut chicken, Hainan noodles, Qingbu Liang, Zao Kasu vinegar hotpot (highly recommended!), and so on
Finally, I understand why Sanya's West Island is so popular! Here's a guide
How should I put it, it's like West Island in Sanya is always full of tourists all year round! It is said that this past winter, West Island became a hot topic due to the overcrowding in the ferry terminal!
West Island is not very developed, it's not far from the city center, and it has indigenous residents with a simple fishing island culture. The consumption on the island is affordable, and most importantly, the scenery of the small islands in the sea is pleasant. Enjoying the glass sea, soaking in the seaside baths, and experiencing clamming is really comfortable!
🎟 Ticket Price (Round-trip ferry ticket): 95r (half price for students and seniors)
🚤 Island Arrival Time: 08:00-16:00 / Island Departure Time: 08:00-18:00
🚎 Buses to West Island: No. 16/25
🚗 Car Parking Fee: 8r/day
⭕ Island Transportation (Recommended to ride a small electric bike to stop and go)

2⃣ Sightseeing Bus No. 1 or No. 2 for the fishing village tour (next to the coral wall and tree shadows), you can get off at the stops, and the round trip costs 25
3⃣ Rent an electric scooter🛵, 50-80/day, remember to bring a helmet
⭕ Route Points (Recommended to start from the left and weave through the middle route in a circle)
✔ Left side: Seaside Bathing Beach—Coral Wall Tree Shadow/Fishing Village East Gate—Heart-shaped Wall—Sea Library—Fishing Boat/Lonely Tree
✔ Middle: Central Snack Street—Coral Old House—Cultural Center—Fishing Village Market
✔ Right side: Coconut Palm Path/Glass Sea—Sea Viewing Walkway (Heart Nest/Round Nest/Thai Wooden Sign/Bird Nest)—Niuwang Island
⭕ Popular Photo Spots:
✅ Seaside Bathing Beach (p2): Turn left out of the tourist center, the water is really as clear as the glass sea, you can go into the water to play, and with a swimsuit, you can even swim. There are safety belts and lifeguards, and places to rinse off by the shore; there are also lounge chairs, but they charge a fee, 60/hour, which is quite expensive!
✅ Coral Wall Embankment (p3): The most popular photo spot on West Island, it's said that sometimes you have to queue up to take pictures! (Next to it is the entrance to the fishing village, which is the starting point for Sightseeing Bus No. 1 and No. 2)
✅ Heart-shaped Wooden Sign Wall (p4): Enter the fishing village and keep walking along the coastal street to the left, you can see the popular boat, followed by the popular shrimp cake shop, and a bit further is the heart-shaped wall (on the right), inside the heart-shaped wall is the fishing village market!
✅ Sea Library (p5): The sea library is next to the pier inside the fishing village, and nearby there is a square with graffiti wooden fish that looks very nice
✅ Fishing Boat and Tree (p6): Continue past the sea library until you see many old fishing boats and a lonely tree on the coconut palm sand beach, opposite the tree is the police station, there are fewer people here, and this left-hand route is basically at its end
✅ Niuwang Ridge (p7): Electric vehicles and the like cannot enter, after arriving, find a place to park the electric scooter! Then walk in, cross a small bridge, climb a small hill, cross a cableway, and when coming down the hill, you can look for crabs and such by the small bridge!
✅ West Island Niuwang Road (p8p9): The right side of the return journey is the Coconut Palm Path, where you can check in at the Heart Nest/Round Nest/Thai Wooden Sign/Bird Nest!
I'm waiting for the wind and for you on the West Island
Sanya West Island
Here you have the crystal-clear sea, white sandy beaches, and coconut groves you desire! The place is simple and tranquil, with a very light commercial atmosphere~ There are even fearless little goats in the roadside grass.
Admission + round-trip boat ticket: 90
Go early in the morning when the island is not too hot and there are fewer people taking photos.
Business hours: 08:00~17:30
About dining
You can dine directly in the fishing village, with refreshing herbal jelly, grilled squid, and shrimp cakes that all taste good and are reasonably priced.
About photo spots
1. The beach in front of the police station is very photogenic, with abandoned fishing boats and a beautiful tree.
2. Every alley from the fishing village to the seaside is incredibly beautiful and photogenic!
3. The West Island Ring Road is very photogenic, with photo spots all along the way.
It's suggested to rent a small donkey in the fishing village for convenience and to save energy, usually priced at 20 per hour.
Online ticket purchases require booking one hour in advance.
It takes a 15-minute boat ride to get to the island, which can be quite thrilling, so those who get seasick should remember to prepare motion sickness medicine in advance.
Be sure to remember to apply sun protection! Hats, cooling sleeves, sun umbrellas, and sun-protective clothing!
West Island
Sanya
Sanya🏝️ Lazy Person's 5-Day 4-Night Lightning Protection Complete Guide (All Truths) ||| Having stayed in Sanya for so long, I've pretty much visited all the big and small attractions, and here's a lazy person's itinerary for you, just follow it and you'll be right.
-
Day1️⃣ Arrive in Sanya in the morning ➡️ Return to the hotel to rest ➡️ Yemeng Gallery ➡️ Yiheng Night Market
Around 5 pm, head to Yemeng Gallery to watch the sunset, which disappears quickly and you won't see it if you're late.
The orange afterglow dyeing the sky is really romantic🌇
At night, go to Yiheng Night Market, where the average price for a big skirt beach dress is 7.80 a piece; spicy girl camisoles are 4.50 a piece, all very cheap.
⚠️tips:
Yemeng Gallery should be located opposite to Haiyun Hotel, there's a large lawn that's great for taking photos.
There are many mosquitoes near the beach, be sure to spray mosquito repellent or wear long sleeves and pants‼️
-
Day2️⃣ West Island
The glass sea of West Island is really beautiful, rent a little electric scooter and go around the island, I really like this slow pace of life~
Sisters staying on the island can try sea foraging at night, it's quite interesting.
⚠️tips:
Try to take the earliest boat at 8:30, fewer people and no queuing.
Definitely bargain when renting an electric scooter on the island, and remember to wear a helmet or you'll be caught by the traffic police.
-
Day3️⃣ Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park ➡️ Sun Bay ➡️ Luhuitou
The scenery of the primitive rainforest is so refreshing and pleasing to the eye~ You can walk across the Dragon Bridge and the glass bridge, other attractions are average.
After playing, go to Sun Bay to take some photos, the opal-like blue sea is so beautiful!!
At night, go to Luhuitou to climb to the top and see the night view of Sanya, admission🆓
⚠️tips:
It's not recommended to bring the elderly and children to the Forest Park, as the mountain roads are rugged and the journey is quite long.
Don't feed the macaques you see at Luhuitou, you might get scratched.
-
Day4️⃣ Nanshan Temple ➡️ Tianya Town
When in Sanya, you must visit Nanshan Temple, the 108-meter-tall Guanyin statue is really impressive.
There's free incense offered at every spot; remember to wear flat shoes, otherwise, it's very tiring to walk.
The seaside café in Tianya Town is beautiful, it's so pleasant to chat with friends while looking at the sea view.
⚠️tips:
Go to Nanshan Temple early as well, there are more people at this time, and the queuing time is too long.
Climbing to the Buddha's foot requires going up seven floors, there's no elevator, it's not recommended for the elderly and children.
Dress should be clean and simple, don't wear shorts, slippers, or camisoles, and do good sun protection.
-
Day5️⃣ Wuzhizhou Island ➡️ Houhai ➡️ Duty-Free Shop
Wuzhizhou deserves its reputation as the domestic Maldives, the clear jelly sea is so beautiful!!
Houhai is very close to Wuzhizhou, you can go surfing there, and there are bar parties to enjoy at night.
Finally went to the duty-free shop, you must bring your ID card, otherwise, you can only browse but not buy!
⚠️tips:
Wuzhizhou is suitable for water sports, just looking at the scenery is a bit of a loss.
If you want to surf in Houhai, find a coach with professional qualifications.
The points of Sanya's four duty-free shops are not interchangeable, you can compare and choose the most suitable one to buy.
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find your own peace on the West Island
The West Island is located on the west side of Sanya, facing Sanya Bay across the sea. From the island, you can view the entire Sanya Bay, and it is also a great spot to watch airplanes land at Phoenix Airport.
West Island, a fishing village with a history of 400 years, is not very large and not fully developed. More than four thousand indigenous people live on the island, which has a police station, kindergarten, primary school, seaside sandy beaches, coconut breeze corridors, as well as century-old houses and a sea library. It is a small island with a blend of artistic and homely atmosphere. The place where you disembark on the island allows you to feed fish in the clear waters teeming with fish. After landing, the fishing village is on the left-hand side. Passing through the tourist center and across the coconut palm beach, you will soon reach the entrance to the fishing village. In the morning, you can go to catch crabs at low tide; anywhere along Niuwangling or Guanhai Avenue is good for this activity, with plenty of small crabs and fish. In the evening, it's delightful to watch the sunset at Niuwangling, stopping as you please along the way.
Sanya—West Island
West Island one-day non-stay island strategy‼️
It is recommended to have lunch and head to the island around 1 or 2 PM (because there are not many good restaurants on the island and they are generally quite expensive)
Buy a drink with the West Island logo at the store (taking it to the beach for photos is very photogenic, recommend ordering juice to avoid disappointment😜)
After we went to the island at noon, we ate at an internet-famous bad-tasting vinegar hotpot restaurant on the island, which was really not good.
You can rent an electric scooter, and you can bargain it down to forty yuan (walking on the island is very tiring, Sanya is hot all year round, and it's even hotter on the island, the electric scooter can save more energy for us to play)
After arriving on the island, walk left from the tourist center, pass the seaside bath, and reach the coral stone wall, which is very photogenic.
Passing by the shrimp pancake shop along the seaside, you can try the shrimp pancakes and crayfish pancakes (the shrimp pancakes are fried crispy with a big shrimp inside🍤, but with shell, the crayfish pancake with sauce is sweet and spicy with a slight sourness)
Next to the shrimp pancake shop is a noodle shop, which is a Sanya specialty. We ordered beef noodles, which had a lot of beef, and one bowl is enough for two girls.
The sea library (no need to go in, it's just an ordinary bookstore selling some stuff, you can take pictures at the entrance, and there are many fishing boats next to it which are also very photogenic❗️)
The small lighthouse can be reached by electric scooter with a detour, or you can walk directly there. You can sit and enjoy the sea breeze. The UV rays on the island are very strong, so be sure to apply sunscreen🤗
You can also go to Turtle Beach in the afternoon for sea foraging. There are grandparents selling small nets nearby, you can buy a small net and rent a pair of pliers, it was only 13 yuan, quite cheap. Sea foraging is not professional, if you are aiming to catch seafood, you will definitely be disappointed, it's mainly about experiencing the process.
After playing sea foraging, you can go queue up for the boat around 5 PM, because there will be a lot of people. Going to queue at 5 PM will definitely get you on the boat, don't be greedy for fun, the last boat is at 6 PM in the evening❗️
