Romantic Hotels in Jiangsu, China

It was a very satisfying trip. My family of three checked in on October 8th, booking a two-bedroom, one-living room room at Taoxie Viewing Bamboo. Our housekeeper, Li Sipeng, contacted me a day in advance to confirm our arrival time and provided us with detailed and clear information about the hotel. When we arrived at the parking lot, Li was already waiting for us and upgraded us to Taoxie Viewing Mountain. The experience was incredibly comfortable. My son and I each had our own suite, offering stunning views and an outdoor hot tub and swimming pool. The hotel also provided many helpful perks. The front desk, restaurant staff, driver, and staff were all courteous and helpful. Li was incredibly thoughtful and considerate. Our photographer, April, was also a fantastic photographer, and I was thrilled to capture so many beautiful photos. The restaurant's cuisine was also delicious and suited our tastes. Overall, I had a wonderful impression of Bamboo Valley and will definitely return when I have time.

The service exceeded my expectations. The staff at Chang Le were incredibly welcoming, providing excellent service from the moment they drove me up the mountain in an electric cart, to the explanations along the way, and even the patient explanations of the facilities in the treehouse. The service was exceptionally attentive and meticulous. Both the hot springs at the summit and the private hot springs in my room had excellent water quality and were very comfortable. The environment was quiet, and the hiking around the mountain provided just the right amount of exercise for a relaxing vacation. A very satisfying trip.

I came here for a short holiday during the Chinese New Year, and the hotel's service was excellent. Before check-in, they even set up a concierge group to assist us throughout our stay. Banyan Tree, as a brand, has always prioritized service and guest experience. The room came with a private hot spring for guests to enjoy anytime, and there's also an outdoor public hot spring available, though I didn't go due to the cold weather this time. The hotel breakfast was very rich, offering both Chinese and Western options, including freshly made Nanjing-style duck blood and vermicelli soup. For activities, the hotel provided complimentary tickets to Yangshan Quarry and 'That's Natural Exploration Park,' and we just needed to book a shuttle with the hotel to get there. The hotel pool is quite large and constantly heated, offering a great experience. We were lucky enough to see snow when we checked out, which looked absolutely stunning against the mining cliff opposite!

Suzhou Four Seasons truly impressed me with its service, right from the moment I arrived at the underground parking garage, where someone helped me with my luggage and guided me to check-in. The hotel upgraded me to a lake-view room and presented a lavish welcome amenity with a huge variety of fruits, chocolates, cookies, wine, and a handwritten card, which significantly enhanced my stay. The hotel itself is set in a tranquil environment, with exquisite decor that beautifully blends Chinese and Western styles. Their attention to detail is evident even in simple things, like the dental kit. The hotel's Chinese restaurant, Jin Jing Ge, lives up to its renowned reputation; during lunch, I even had the pleasure of meeting the chef, who greeted every table. Overall, my experience, from the stay to dining and leisure, was excellent, and I will definitely return.

Guests' cars are parked at the entrance and shuttled by electric carts. The scenery is stunning, with lush forests and bamboo groves creating a truly beautiful atmosphere. Spending money here is definitely worthwhile. This hotel left a deep impression on me. From the rooms and facilities to the service and environment, I was extremely satisfied. The mountaintop hot spring is definitely worth checking out. The villa rooms feature a spacious and bright outdoor soaking pool in the center, and the bedding is very comfortable, featuring many bamboo accents, providing me with a superior resting environment. The hotel facilities are also very complete. The butler, Xiao Rui, was attentive and responsible, answering my questions, helping me book meals, and providing complimentary toiletries. My review: I'll definitely come back next time!

Our stay at Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake with our child was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to the exceptional service from Ambassador Martin. His warm smile instantly melted away our travel fatigue upon arrival. Throughout our stay, he subtly anticipated and met our every need with incredible attention to detail, especially when it came to caring for our child. Martin went beyond professional service; his genuine care transformed our short visit into a beautifully cherished memory. The service was perfect – first-class, thoughtful, and attentive. Furthermore, every staff member at the front desk was fantastic; no matter who we encountered, any issues were handled gently and swiftly. The room itself had excellent amenities and was very spacious. The 2.4-meter king-size bed was a highlight, making our stay with a child very comfortable. Although it was winter, we still used the private pool, and housekeeping promptly cleaned it after a call. Breakfast was decent. However, there aren't many dining options nearby this time of year, and the hotel's restaurants close at 8 PM. We had to rely on room service, and the menu selection wasn't extensive. The shuttle service for getting around was very prompt and efficient, with excellent service.

How do I even begin to describe it? Nanjing Kayumanis is simply flawless, from the rooms to the service. You might wonder, 'How good can an old hotel be?' This is a luxury hotel built during an economic boom, exuding an air of lavish disregard for cost when it comes to comfort and privacy. The patina of time and age perfectly embodies that 'old money' aesthetic everyone craves now. Just look at the meticulously tiled, rounded corner niche in the shower for toiletries, or the almost ubiquitous sliding doors that connect every floor-to-ceiling window to an outdoor patio – then you'll understand what I mean. Although it shows signs of age, the staff diligently maintain it. The entire room, inside and out, every corner, smells only of incense, osmanthus, and camphor – absolutely no other odors. For an older hotel, this is incredibly rare and speaks volumes about their dedication. The staff's demeanor is also remarkably pleasant, from our butler Susan, to the ladies at breakfast, to the gentlemen managing the pool and hot springs. They are responsive, efficient, and genuinely warm, truly showcasing the straightforward charm of Nanjing locals. I've stayed in many luxury hotels, and Nanjing Kayumanis stands out as one of the best examples of a global hotel management company truly mastering localization. It's also the main reason I'd return to Nanjing for another vacation.

As a new hotel, the hygiene here is quite good. Even though the rooms are sunken, there were no strange odors after checking in. Plus, all our food deliveries arrived quickly, which was perfect for someone like me who doesn't like walking much. I really want to commend and thank a few staff members for their excellent service. Eason not only allowed us to check in early but also thoughtfully arranged an electric cart to shuttle my elderly parents and children between the front desk and our room for the entire two days. This was incredibly convenient. Gary was very attentive to the safety of my parents and children when driving the cart, always taking it slow. And Zhang Xiaohua did an incredibly thorough job cleaning and sanitizing the hot tub, which eased all my worries about the hygiene of an outdoor bath. Also, the sound bath therapy is definitely worth experiencing; it's a great way to relax, unwind, and aid sleep. Now, about the breakfast – it was incredibly disappointing. I've honestly never seen such a poor breakfast spread. Not only was the variety limited, but the food itself felt very cheap. Buns, eggs, noodles, and wontons made up half the selection. For fruit, it was just dragon fruit, oranges, cantaloupe, and watermelon. As for drinks, there was only milk, no juice. It felt like the 300+ yuan we paid was entirely for the view and service fees.

The hotel is nestled on a small hill surrounded by bamboo forests and lush trees, offering fresh air. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped with kitchen essentials like an induction cooker, dishes, cutlery, and cups, allowing guests to prepare simple meals. The complimentary bottled water is from Bama Lilang, and the toiletries aren't the usual generic large dispenser types. Breakfast quality is excellent, with organic ingredients used in the restaurant, and the taste is also great. The butler was very responsive, and the service staff were proactive. The animals in the hotel's mini-park are very friendly and cute. The only minor drawback, in my opinion, is that the mattress was a bit too soft.

This is my third time staying at InterContinental Nanjing, and the view is still great. This time, I got a complimentary upgrade to a room on the 68th floor, but it didn't face Xuanwu Lake, which was a bit disappointing. The furniture in the room is a little dated, understandable since the hotel has been open for 15 years. I felt the central air conditioning was too hot, especially in winter; even with the small side window, it felt a bit stuffy. Perhaps they could consider better temperature and humidity control, like adding humidifiers. There was some dust in the corner of the bedside table, and the toilet in the bathroom was an older model. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special, and the bacon wasn't well-cooked – that needs improvement. I remember having a fantastic dinner buffet at the InterContinental during National Day in '25, where each guest even received a sea cucumber. Compared to dinner, breakfast was significantly less impressive, and the Western pastries were just average. The service, however, was very warm and enthusiastic; they called both before and after my stay and even provided fruit. If you're coming to Nanjing, I'd still recommend it. Nanjing Grand Theatre is next to the hotel, and the Nanjing Impressions restaurant there has great food. There's also an observation deck on the 45th floor where you can use your room key to access the terrace and enjoy the view.
