"In terms of cleanliness, the hotel did an excellent job. The lobby floor was so shiny you could see your reflection, and I learned from Cynthia that the hotel's design was inspired by the Taihang and Lüliang Mountains, along with the 'Two Mountains, One River, Eight Courtyards' concept. It felt like staying in a museum, which gave me a much deeper understanding and appreciation of Shanxi's history. The service was incredibly warm and professional; they shared a lot about the hotel's culture, which left a great impression and helped us really get to know the place. Overall, I'm very satisfied and it exceeded my expectations!"

We were satisfied with the room facilities, cleanliness, environment, and service. The hotel is in a convenient location with a large shopping mall right next to it, and the breakfast was exceptionally rich. When we arrived by taxi, the driver stopped outside, and the doorman immediately came over to help with our luggage—definitely worth a thumbs-up!

I stayed for 4 days. There was almost no service. I arrived at the hotel at 4 PM, and although they helped me arrange a higher floor, I waited for almost an hour, and the room they arranged was still not ready. They then switched me to another room on the same floor. The lobby was very hot, and all the temporary resting spots were directly in the sun. When I got upstairs, I was a bit dumbfounded to find my room directly facing the elevator. Oh well, I checked in. The check-in experience wasn't great. Disposable toiletries weren't replenished promptly; besides toilet paper, you literally only got them once. For a 4-day stay (2 days booked via a group deal, 2 days via other platforms), the bedside power outlet didn't work. I had to unplug the table lamp to charge my phone, and that outlet was just awful. The floor-to-ceiling window blinds were very dirty, covered in dust. For the same pre-sale price, Shangri-La offers much better value for money. Kempinski seemed forced into pre-selling, almost as if they don't want future guests. There are just too many options in Taiyuan for this price point.

My stay at Wutong Apartments was wonderful! The room was clean, spacious, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. There is bathtub is luxurious and spacious, the shower has great pressure and the the separate toilet room has a motion censored toilet seat and a bidet. The bed was comfy and the closet space begs you to unpack your suitcase. There were thoughtful amenities, including a loofah cloth and shoe shine cloths. Now...the breakfast. It was the best breakfast buffet I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Tinder and well seasoned steak, salmon, soups, desserts, breads, scrumptious pancakes and a salad bar that even included kale amongst the varied greens. Best of all, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to Li Ne, the dining staff and the housekeeper who attended to my room. I wish that every hotel stay I experience in the future is as amazing as my time at Wutong Apartment Hotel.

Let me elaborate. **Courtyard Design:** Very beautiful, many scenic spots within the ancient city are decorated in a similar style. **Room Amenities:** Given the prime location, the room isn't large, perhaps around 15 square meters. It has all the essentials and is very clean. The mattress was comfortable. Of course, it can't compare to high-end or luxury hotels. Its main advantage is its excellent location; it's very convenient for exploring, and you can easily pop back for a rest when you get tired. **Service:** The staff were very service-oriented. When we arrived, there weren't many guests, and the service was very attentive. **Breakfast:** It's not a buffet; it's a fixed-menu breakfast, like a 'nine-grid' style. It looks very appealing, and the taste is decent enough to fill you up. Overall, it's a good stay. Naturally, for this price point within the ancient city, you shouldn't compare it to hotels of the same price outside. It's incomparable, primarily due to its superb geographical advantage.

This hotel is rated 4 stars, but the actual stay experience definitely lives up to 5-star standards. 1. The location is incredibly convenient. Most attractions in the old city are within walking distance (Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, Nine Dragon Screen, Rumeng Datong, Southeast Yi, Drum and Bell Towers, etc.). Perhaps because the location is so prime, there isn't much room for expansion. 2. Although the room facilities aren't new or particularly spacious, the hygiene is excellent. 3. I have to commend the service; it truly rivals, if not surpasses, five-star hotels. The staff not only present themselves well but are also very polite and observant. For example, on the evening of September 29th, while sitting downstairs, the doorman noticed a chair cushion had fallen. Even though no one was about to sit there, he proactively repositioned it – attention to detail like that speaks volumes about their service. Room service for deliveries was also very quick to respond. They performed turn-down service every evening without us even having to ask, which is a level of detail many five-star hotels don't even achieve. 4. Food. The breakfast selection is extensive, with the Western options being particularly good. The freshly made omelets were tender and delicious, and the coffee was freshly ground illy beans, expertly prepared with latte art. The attached restaurant for dinner was also excellent; the almond tofu was truly delightful. In summary, staying for three consecutive nights was a fantastic experience, and the price per night wasn't high either (in Hangzhou, it would be the price of a Hanting hotel).

I heard from a taxi driver that this hotel is a five-star property, and I was secretly thrilled because the price was so affordable! The environment is nice; the lobby is grand and elegant, and the room is a decent size. Opening the window reveals a view of the ancient city. The bathroom features a wet-and-dry separation layout, and welcome fruits were provided. The only regret was that the bed was too soft and lacked support, making it a bit tiring to sleep on, and the pillows also lacked firmness. I'm not sure if it was because of the National Day holiday or if the soundproofing is naturally good, but overall, it was quite quiet during my two-night stay. Upon check-out, they even gave us a souvenir. By the way, a big shout-out to all the hotel staff! The front desk greeted us with smiles and resolved issues immediately, and the security guards at the entrance were extremely enthusiastic, warmly welcoming us every time we returned from outside. Especially when we were leaving by taxi, a staff member actually ran over to give the driver a bottle of water, telling them we were VIP guests and must be delivered safely. It subtly elevated our status—I bet the driver felt obliged to provide top-notch service after that! 😄 The hotel service here is truly outstanding!

Overall, the hotel is excellent. The room was clean with no unpleasant odors, and the bedding was neat and tidy. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the restaurant was clean and bright. However, the bathroom only had half a roll of toilet paper. I asked the cleaning lady for another roll, but she said she didn't have any. I found that quite odd. Additionally, the front desk told me there would be eight bottles of water in the room, but there were actually only two in the room and two in the fridge. Given the hot weather, that wasn't nearly enough for me. My husband also asked the cleaning lady for toilet paper, and she also said she didn't have any. In the end, we had to buy a pack of tissues outside, which was very inconvenient. We were already tired and just wanted to rest. During our trip to Yuncheng, we saw the loess hills, which were beautiful for us southerners.

⭐A beautiful hotel in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, located in a charming old theatre full of history and character. The staff are welcoming, helpful, and can arrange a very comfortable transfer to the train station. Two small points for improvement: the advertised spa is not on-site but provided through an external service, and the Western breakfast needs to be reserved in advance. Despite these details, it was an excellent stay. Highly recommended for its unique atmosphere, perfect location, and great hospitality.

Truly extremely satisfied! From airport pickup to check-in, there was a 24-hour butler service throughout the entire process. The room is equipped with a coffee machine and welcome fruits, and you can enjoy various delicacies and afternoon tea without even leaving the room. Laundry and drying services are also provided, and the drinking water supplied is VOSS. Tucked away in a bustling location yet perfectly quiet, the ancient city wall completely isolates you from the outside noise. Lying in bed, you can truly feel the unique tranquility of this ancient courtyard~ Having stayed in so many hotels, I really didn't want to check out of this one! Linfen, you are truly such a pleasant surprise ❤️
