Painting the bridge, above the South Lake of Hongcun, is a shortcut to connect the gate of the scenic spot and the ancient buildings of Hongcun. The bridge is not long and not very wide. The bridge is beautiful, it separates the clear lake water, passes through the lotus bush, and disappears into the complex. 虽然只是一座后建起来的仿古建筑，但这座桥却给南湖增添了一抹色彩，平日里画桥的倒影成了诸多摄影爱好者拍摄的重点，尤其在夕阳西下之时，这个画面没得难以形容，只是游人太多，为了等待抓拍的一刻，往往要有许久的等待

画桥位于南湖的中央，画桥两端的长堤把南湖一分为二，画桥是宏村这个5A级景区的点景之笔，在静静的湖面上，美丽的石拱桥倒映水中，不是仙境胜过仙境。

南湖中间的这座小桥叫做【画桥】，在画桥上曾经拍摄过很多电影比如说李安导演的《卧虎藏龙》中的第一个镜头，周润发饰演的李慕白牵马过桥去镖局就是在这里拍摄。1986年重建中堤，造“画桥”，可东西划舟，情趣无究。大家看一湖碧水，半湖绿荷，湖畔柳枝婀娜，湖中一座拱桥，横跨南北，将湖水分隔东西，湖周进出鳞次栉比的古民居及远处的群山倒映水中，雅致、清新。清嘉庆甲戌年秋，浙江钱塘（今杭州）名士吴锡麟游南湖后，撰文写道：“宏村南湖游迹之盛堪比浙江西湖”，因而南湖又有“黄山脚下小西湖”之称。
