I stayed at Van der Valk Hotel Spa during a solo trip and was very pleased with the choice. The hotel is conveniently located - right in the center of Spa, next to the thermal baths and a green park where it is pleasant to walk and relax.
The room was very cozy, clean and well-equipped. I was especially pleased with the spacious bathroom and comfortable bed - everything contributed to a comfortable stay. The hotel has a calm atmosphere, which is especially important when traveling alone.
The staff was attentive and friendly, always ready to help and answer questions. Breakfast pleased with its variety: fresh pastries, fruits, hot dishes - everything is tasty and neatly served.
For me, this place was a great point for recovery and recharge. If you are traveling alone and looking for comfort and tranquility - Van der Valk Hotel Spa is definitely worth considering. I will be happy to come back again!

Helpful reception personnel and overall a pleasant stay. Good shower and nice clean rooms. The sleeping couch was not so fine to sleep on but overall good. Breakfast was outstanding. Unfortunately the swimming pool was not included in the room price. Opening hours 8-22 was in my opinion too late to open in the morning.
Liege is very small. The hotel is in the center. Not far away is a bar street, which is very lively.
The front desk and bar counter are combined into one, and checkin is slow.
There is a parking lot next to the hotel. The hotel's exclusive parking space is on the 4th floor, and you can also park on the 7th floor, 19 euros per night.
The breakfast is very poor, with not many varieties.
Overall, the hotel is good. The rooms are quite large, and the layout is decent. It's near the river, making for pleasant walks around the area. Being in the city center, it's very convenient for getting around. The breakfast selection is quite extensive. It's suitable for both business and leisure travelers.
Zeer goede ontvangst met een duidelijke uitleg. Overal vriendelijk personeel aanwezig.
Location is excellent, room was also nice but having a see through door to the shower can be kinda awkward if not travelling as couple - can easily be solved with a translucent film over the door. Service was good but luggage is stored in a hallway that anyone can access, which doesn't feel safe. It was put in a closed backroom after I asked, but it would be better if this was standard.
The best hotel in Liege, right? The hotel is clean and tidy with complete facilities. There is a restaurant downstairs that is always busy. There is a gym in the hotel. Although it is not big, it has all the facilities.

GGuest UserExcellent stay!! Staffs are all so welcoming and friendly. After check in they will guide you to the room and do a little introduction of the surrounding areas as well as hotel’s amenities. Room is very specious and cosy. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, which were both great. Food is delicious, has lots of selections of wines, and the service makes you feel like at home. Would definitely want to come back again. Highly recommend this lovely place to everyone.

GGuest UserThe room is very artistic, with an aesthetic experience for adults. The spa is also very good. The deepest and clearest swimming pool I have ever seen in Belgium. The spa is actually mainly for outdoor courses, which often occupy half of the swimming pool. Guests of this hotel need to change into swimwear and bathrobes in the room. The room service is almost zero. Even the disposable chocolates were not refilled for two days, and the water was also 200 or 250 ml Tetra Pak pillow bags. It feels like taking an Eastern Airlines flight.
GGuest UserOur entire group stayed in this hotel for 2 to 4 nights, and other group members' rooms reported that kettles, showers, glasses, etc. were either broken or damaged. The worst part was, before I left, I asked the hotel if they could help me book a taxi on the day of check-out, because two photographers were leaving at 6am, but the hotel told me that they couldn’t. They only provided a local taxi agency number and asked me to make an international call to make the reservation myself!!! I had no choice but to ask the local tour guide to help me and the counter the day before check-out. I just think that foreign tourists ask the hotel for help because it is inconvenient. This kind of response from the hotel is hard to accept!
