"Great location we were in the Artisan building which was a few minutes from bus stop 6. The apartment was very clean. Easy access to the apartment without having to formally check in as the door key is held on your mobile device. We had a junior suite which was perfect for our family of 4. However the sofa bed was so uncomfortable. The springs had gone and when 2 people are sharing the bed you end up rolling into the middle. Another 2 pillows for the sofa bed would have been welcomed. Having said that the apartment was clean, the bathroom was of a good size and stocked with L'Occitane toiletries. The shower was perfect. With Iceland being so expensive, the milk, orange juice and cornflakes were perfect for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised when the milk and orange juice was topped up throughout our stay. If the sofa bed was not so worn we would give this apartment 10/10."
"A relatively new hotel, ca. 20 min by walking from the famous city center bar streets.
The service at the reception is good (it seems that the tourist industry is fully in Polish hands, this feels a little awkward).
Why is the room with toilet for disabled individuals if not requested?
The recommended bath Laugardalslaug near the hotel needs urgently refurbishing.
The Flybus transport from hotel to KEF was well organized and not expensive."
"Great location, 3 min walking to aurora borealis Bus stop no. 6 pick-up. Airport transfer Bus 55 public 17 EUR one-way, takes 1,5h to BSI central station, then 20 min walk to hotel or take yellow bus to Bus stop nr. 6. I had a 2 nights stay, their reception staff was amazing, the lady helped me book a northern lights tour literally the moment
I've entered. Pods very comfortable, ambient changing lights, hangers provided and large space for your suitcases. Ground floor bar and socializing space really cozy, beer and wine tabs are activated by digital bracelet, top notch kitchen (no stove), free high quality tea bags (loved that detail:). Elevator, entry with digital bracelet in the pod, bath robes (2) per pod for hot tub use, Dyson hair dryer and Rituals free cosmetics at bathroom. Free storage of luggage after check out all activated with the digital bracelet. Everything it's spotless clean and their attention to little details it's something that will make me return."
"I loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! One of the outstanding features is that they give you a cell phone to use during your stay. The phone already has helpful apps installed for taxis, restaurants, etc. We are from the US so did not have international cell service so having this phone with us was helpful, especially for using maps. Reykjavik is a walkable city, and the hotel is located on the most popular street, so it has easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful and there is also a bar/restaurant onsite with amazing cocktails. There is an included breakfast buffet which featured hot and cold items. We had a room on the 4th floor that included access to large patio. We loved this feature as we could wake up and go outside to check the weather and enjoy the views of the mountains and water in the distance. The hotel was also extremely clean. Another nice touch was that they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so when we entered our room, we found a bottle of wine, chocolate and romantic decorations!"
"The hotel features modern facilities and an excellent location. There's a fantastic bubble tea shop right across the street, and a highly-rated Chinese restaurant, considered the best in the local area, is just a short walk away. The cleanliness is also superb."
"excellent location.
slightly a bit dated: bedroom doors needed a bit of effort to close. Could hear wind howling in tiny bedroom window gap.
spacious and with a kitchenette. When we checked in there was some condiments, oil, porridge leftover by previous tenants (we did not use)
free parking wasnt really free, paid GBP16 for overnight parking"
"lived for 8 nights
clean room
nice staff at front desk who recommended nice places nearby
water pressure for showering can be a bit stronger
yummy breakfast with acceptable amount of choices
acceptable distance from main street
not noisy when sleep"
"The location of the hotel is great, right in the city centre. The bed in the room was large 1.3m wide unlike other hotels which are only a metre wide. The service at the front desk was also quite good. The only drawback is that the spa centre closes too early, at 19:30, unlike other hotels that open late."
"The place itself is really nice, it’s a 1 bedroom studio, basically it’s an apartment in the downtown area. Perfect location. You have to check in at a hotel up the road about two minutes, but that’s the only thing I didn’t like. Other than that, great place, and also had a fully functional kitchen if you wanna cook a night or two at home."

Great
AAlec Lyubomirsky (alyubomi)We started our travel to Iceland by driving around Iceland in a campervan, so we were hoping for a relaxing hotel stay in Reykjavik at the end of the trip when we pre-booked. We were not disappointed by the Eyja Guldsmeden. The location was only a few blocks away from downtown where there were tons of shopping and dining options, and the hotel itself was beautiful. In the lobby, we grabbed (included) coffee in the mornings and a reasonably-priced drink for happy hour. The service at the front desk was friendly and cordial. The room itself had a nice view of the mountains and was warm and cozy. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back to this hotel again if we are ever back in Iceland!
Our only difficulty, understanding this is mostly outside of the hotel's control, is that some of the sidewalks on the walk to downtown were extremely icy and slippery after a day or so of wintry mix that froze over. We had to be extremely careful making our way down to Laugavegur, which had much safer sidewalks. There were even a few buses and cars that couldn't make their way up or down the icy, hilly streets and had to work their way around. So if you are going in the Winter, be cautious and walk slowly!
SSonia RaphaelRoom and toilet were clean, however there was a Sulphurous odour (almost like rotten eggs) coming from the drain of the shower which was quite difficult to bare if you used the bathroom for too long. Fortunately for us, we were out most of the day, so we didn’t have to deal with it so much. They’re a sustainable and eco friendly hotel and don’t offer one-use toiletries, however extra towels and other things were offered when requested.
The breakfast spread was lovely and yummy!!
Appreciated the well thought out guide folder!
GGuest UserThis aparthotel is very clean.
The location of the facility is very good.
The staff are all kind and speak English well.
There is a beautiful lake around the hotel, and there are many supermarkets and restaurants, so it is very convenient.
I recommend it to everyone!

BbluesblueThe hotel boasts a good location right in the city center, conveniently close to bus stops 1, 2, 3, and 4. A large supermarket is just a short walk away. Facilities, service, and breakfast were decent enough, but rooms aren't cleaned daily, which seems to be a common practice for some hotels in the area. Furthermore, during peak season, expect a significant number of European and American senior tour groups. This means breakfast can get quite crowded, and you might experience slightly longer queues for food. If you have an early itinerary, make sure to budget ample time.

WWyw112The bus hostel is really near the airport and quite walkable to major sightseeing like 20-30 minutes.
Yet the Windows curtain could not even cover it well so if you sleep near a Windows in summer (as the night will be very bright) You will affect by the light. There was men snoring really hard so it affect as well (though this is not about the hotel)
I got nose allergy and the entire time I stay in the hotel and it makes me feel very sick.
The self check in system is quite good, yet the reception will be locked after 9pm(?) I was coming back at 10pm and there was no staff help unlocking the main entrance which the password is different. They provide no information about this. A few of us (new guests or those coming back) are locked outside until a guest know the password show up. This certainly not a good service at all.
The toilet has automatic light which is Environmental friendly I like it, but it went off when I only have a short time in the toilet, this really not quite good.
But the location is good and there is bus travel tour pick up from here.
GGuest Userdark and full of thieves. MAYBE DONT KEEP ANYTHING IN THE REFRIGERATOR. not sure how my things got stolen as they were packed in the back and not visible. was it the cleaning staff checking every item and label? did they decide to take it? was it a traveler, and because there's no CCTV they thought it'd be okay? i thought in iceland people would keep the cultural system of no crime. so this is a warning and also this experience (at the end of my stay) doesnt affect my overall opinion of the hostel (which i formed before having things stolen). the atmosphere is overly dreary and depressing. the most colorful thing is the mandatory rainbow flag that almost every business in the area seems to have on display (is it part of an extortion racket?). low light everywhere, even in the sleeping room when you need to be able to see and find things. the room had only one small window and only a tiny opening for fresh air outside. no air circulation or ability to adjust the room temperature. the room was cramped and the beds squeaked and creaked at the smallest movement. sheets were clean and no bugs were seen. so that is a plus! the interior and decor in the hostel is odd. it felt like a waiting room in the afterlife for people who led lives of honest vice and subversive transgression, or maybe it's best described as a purgatory for designers with perpetual Seasonal Affective Disorder. this probably suits most people interested in the general icelandic vibe, so it is appropriate. no ability to make a deposit for a lock for the lockers in the room. you must purchase an overpriced lock. finally there are no smiles on any workers who speak in monotone and seem bothered whenever you ask a question, as if they had been interrupted, as if it werent their job to assist customers, and as if i were dumb for asking a question.

VVanessaSuper quickly the confirmation email from the hotel, the directions and recommendations are clear and simple. The room was a decent side and it had a huge bathroom. Right now there are making some renovations in the property but during the sleeping hours everything is pretty calm and silent
AayanamisloverThe location of the hotel is a bit out of the way, but it was only used as a stopover so it didn't matter too much, and for travelling around Reykjavik we recommend booking another Hilton Curio Select hotel. Facilities in the room were fair and worthy of the Hilton name.
AAnonymous UserThe room and bed are both tiny, almost like a narrow daybed as some have pointed out. On the plus side, the bed itself was quite comfortable. Cleanliness was mediocre; I even found hairs on the bed. The bathroom sink is poorly designed; you can barely wash your hands, let alone your face, as your head gets stuck against the glass shelf above it. Considering the prices in Iceland, it's relatively cheap, and it's okay for just one night if you're on a budget. There's a bus stop conveniently located right outside, and the airport shuttle drops you off directly at the entrance.

WWongAaronI recently had the pleasure of staying at Guesthouse Aurora, where the charm of the establishment was only matched by the warmth of its hosts. Nestled in a convenient location next to the Church, the guesthouse presented itself as an inviting home away from home, perfect for travelers looking for an authentic and personal touch to their accommodation.
Before arrival, we were worried that we cannot checkin because we took a night flight. However, when i called the staff, he answered that even our arrival time is out of customer service, he could leave the key and PIN code for us to self-checkin, he also went beyond to ensure a smooth check-in process. Their attention to detail and eagerness to assist with any inquiries set the tone for a delightful stay.
The guesthouse itself boasted a quaint and cozy atmosphere, with communal areas that were well-kept and adorned with tasteful decorations, offering a homely comfort that was immediately noticeable. The included breakfast was a highlight of the stay, featuring a generous spread of both local and continental options, freshly prepared and sure to satisfy a variety of tastes. The morning meal provided a wonderful opportunity to mingle with other guests and exchange travel tales, all while enjoying the delightful array of food.
However, it's worth noting that the room space was somewhat compact. While the room was impeccably clean and well-equipped with the necessary amenities, the limited space could pose a slight inconvenience, especially for those with a significant amount of luggage or a
